In our 14th year! We’re now on 1st FRIDAYS! This is a monthly, professionally produced showcase (Not your neighborhood open mic!) featuring world class spoken word artists from all over the country, special musical guests backed by our high energy house band, and an interpretive performance painter bringing it all together with amazing images painted live on stage depicting the words, sounds, vibrations and images emoted from the poets and musicians! The audience is a delicious concoction of socially conscious urban professionals that can appreciate an event that is not only artistically significant but severely entertaining as well! It takes place on the 1st Friday of every month and runs like clockwork with a start time of three mininutes after 8pm and finishing up around 10:00 with The Savoy’s live Reggae night starting immediately afterward. Tix (only $ 15!) available at the door. Reserved tables are available. 21 and over. flypoet.com for more details.
