I am slightly impressed. I was in a rebellious fried shrimp mood and drove to IngleHOOD to eat their lemon shrimp and honey biscuits. I also ordered a large sweet tea. Their larges are… LARGE. The sweet tea was more than enough for two people. Their biscuits are buttery, light and there is a distinct taste of honey. You could only go for the biscuits and be perfectly fine. The wait in the drive thru is long enough to turn off your car so that is a downside. The bullet proof glass is annoying but the employees are very friendly and sincere and that is always a pleasure. The lemon shrimp was lemony, plump and delicious. Now… it is not as tasty as Mel’s Fish Shack but these hold their own in taste and size and are definitely a step up from Popeye’s. All in all I am pleased and will be back.

The service was HORRIBLE. We ordered the new Texas Pete wings. They were soggy and hard. We called a few time to give them heads up… needless to say they did not answer. When we went in, I told the girl with the Winning Personality… Not!!! That we called a few times, she said the phone did not ring. So I called while we were in their, the shift lead said the phone don’t work… Really. They wanted to give use the same chicken, I told her we want regular chicken. She said they count the chicken so she can’t give use regular chicken. We could have our money back minus the fries and biscuit. We won’t be going back!!! They need to get some people that like their jobs and want to work their. Not people that make you not want to spend your money their.

Did not have the amount of chicken legs I wanted. Chicken is very dry and old and its also a very small dirty establishment.

I just got off work decided that I was going to get some chicken from churches. I walk up to the counter and there’s a Hispanic girl, Big girl with the bun on top of her head and she has a big nose you can’t miss it. Every time I go there she gives me so much attitude as if she go kill the chicken herself. She is such rude person. I’ve been there several times thinking her attitude get better but it hasn’t the jalapeño peppers are soft and outside of the bag is always wet, they never have any wings if so she would tell you that she doesn’t have them and she will also would make you wait 15 minutes extra for your food and it comes out hard like it was old. The mashed potatoes are very watery like they mixed it with too much water. Plus I have a 5 year old niece who usually loves this type of food but oddly she even noticed that something was very wrong about our food. Now since this not the first time I as customer have been treated with so much disrespect I would love to speak with owner because I don’t think that she needs have the privilege of working there anymore.

Something has finally toppled Popeye’s from my #1 spot: O The spicy chicken is actually spicy & truly delicious. I’m so glad I stopped by after practically 10 years, my 1st encounter being in New Orleans

After working a 10 hour shift during our last serious rain here in Los Angeles(12÷3÷14), I actually had a craving for chicken. Popeye’s was on only a couple of blocks from my apartment, but I hadn’t had Church’s for almost 2 decades. So, I decided to visit this location for a 2-piece and biscuit. I was the only customer at the time, so the cashier took my order. Since I didn’t want chicken that may have potentially been sitting, I requested fresh fried. I was told that it would take 17 minutes, which I agreed to wait. After 5 minutes, I attempted to use the restroom, but the door to the men’s room was locked. The assistant night manager Christian, stated that both restrooms were out of service. So… I held as long as possible, but ended up walking across the street to the liquor store and was allowed to use their facilities. Upon my return, a family of 4 entered and made their order. The cashier told them that it would 5 minutes before their order was ready. By now… my wait was well past the 17 minute mark. However, the frustrating part of this visit was that one of the 4, which was a Hispanic women, went directly into the women’s restroom and 1 of the males went into the men’s restroom. At this point I’m seeing a bias. Nonetheless, I watched the cook place chicken into the fryer then walk into the back section of the building. Another 7 minutes had elapsed when the cashier reminded me that my order would be ready in 3 minutes. After FINALLY getting my order of chicken, I asked for the receipt and was told that the register was out of ink. So… the cashier wrote down the basic information, which did not include the order number or any other pertinent info. The worse part of this whole ordeal was that the chicken was over cooked and my stomach underwent some changes that I had never experienced before. I had to take the next day off work due to an upset stomach and an inability to sleep that night. I will NEVER again, or encourage anyone else to visit this establishment, for the very reasons listed above.

Never again will Churchs chicken see my money. You would think by ordering a 10 pc meal you would get at least one white meat piece, a breast would be nice… BUTNOOOO, you get 5 worthless legs and 5 worthless backs. Worst 20 bucks I’ve ever spent. I will never again patronize this establishment, not sure what other people see in it, taste is bland, greasy as hell. The worst fast food chicken in the world. Can I give it zero stars?

I’d have to say that Church’s Chicken is comparable to Popeye’s Chicken. But It comes in a close second. Its a good alternative though.

Everyone claims Popeye’s chicken and biscuits is where«it’s» at. Maybe I don’t know what«it» is or maybe«it’s» changed beause I have yet to find it at Popeye’s. Church’s Chicken on the other hand has given«it» to me so many times over! I’m talking about good, greasy fried chicken! Mmm! Mmm! I love Churchs Chicken and biscuits! There’s nothing better than a warm, buttery biscuit with a slight touch of honey on top! The crunch that you hear as you rip into each piece is making my mouf water(yes, I wrote mouf). This location is sort of tucked away, it doesn’t see much activity inside nor through the drive thru; that’s fine for me as I can get what I want with the quickness!

Yes! I found it! When I was working on a movie set, a large home in Crenshaw, doing sound, I also used to pick up lunches. The first day was Mexican food, and the rest of the week was Church’s. I seriously loved that fried chicken something fierce.

Don’t expect nice décor or a picturesque neighborhood on the busy stretch of La Brea Ave. — this rating is for the chicken! I was on my way home from LAX and started thinking about chicken after I passed Popeye’s further south. Then I come across Churchs — I got my tongue burnt by the combo #23-piece chicken meal. But it was worth it! I’ve seen Churchs near USC but never stopped. This spot is mainly drive through business, but I stopped as(a) I don’t eat in my car and(b) I was too hungry to wait to get home! But as I enter I know it’s gonna be good as I see piles of freshly fried chicken being hauled out of the vat. Nice! I almost switched to fish and chips which wasn’t on the menu, but was prominently displayed outside. Instead I got a combo #2 — 3 pieces of dark meat with mash potato and green bean side. I also grabbed myself a sweet potato pie for home. I’ve never seen one of those in a fast-food joint(I guess it would help if I went to more…) The batter was crispy, the chicken inside was hoooot, juicy and tender. Just writing this now makes me drool. Churchs is a great chain. I hate chains, but I had to try this spot.
