Came in for a routine check up. I was very pleased with the service. Quick friendly and accurate. I ended up getting an oil change. I would recommend this aamco to my friends and family !

Hmm… after getting a quote from the owner (based on exact vehicle make, model and year), showed up and had an hour of my time wasted sitting around just to find out they would NOT do the service for the quoted amount, and that the part needed was actually completely different and not even in stock. After going to a certified mechanic for this particular car, there is no way on earth anyone would have done the service for what these guys quoted. Granted, the guys were really nice, just didn’t have their sh*t together. I also witnessed & heard my car being driven with the parking brake on, and overheard customers being encouraged to pay in cash instead of their card so oh you know, everyone wins, it saves money, uh huh… hey whatever, that’s your side hustle. even though I left more than slightly annoyed at wasting my morning, the universe CLEARLY did not want this AAMCO to touch my car, so all in all this saved me potentially damaging a $ 7,000 transmission.

Owner made a verbal commitment and STUCK BY HIS WORD! Customer service! Amen! Its one thing to stick to a commitment you made to a customer when you remember the conversation fully, its character and great management when owner cannot fully recall the entire conversation but still gives excellent customer service.

This Aamco rebuilt my transmission in February 2014, for $ 3006. After several problems, several weeks in and out of this Aamco, in October 2014 they rebuilt it again. Derrick Walker is the most unprofessional Aamco owner in America. He doesn’t know one bit about a transmission nor a car and depends solely on his mechanics who know very little about transmissions. David Lopez, mgr at the time does nothing but give excuses as to why the car is fixed. My car has now been in the shop since the beginning of February and to date (3÷26÷15) it still is not finished. I visited Aamco on Thursday 3÷26÷15 and no one was able to tell me when the car would be ready. I have asked repeatedly for a printout of all of the work that was done on my car since February 2014 to no avail.
PLEASE run as far away from this Aamco as you can!
The last time I posted a review David said that he would have the negative review removed because he was trying to go to another Aamco. If this one gets removed I
’ll no longer have faith in true reviews for a business.
David solicits positive reviews. He asks you to post positive reviews about him. He’s not honest at all!

I decided to rate this AAMCO 5 stars due to the surprisingly amazing service I was given. Right when I walked on to the premises, I was immediately acknowledge by a gentlemen with the name of David. He reassured me that it will be awhile before his technicians take a look at my vehicle due to how busy they were (this was a Monday 3÷3÷15) which I didn’t mind. I sat in a comfortable waiting room with recliner chairs as the mechanics run a diagnostic test that was free of charge (RARE, because most places charge}. After a few hours, I was told by Mr. David that it was my Passive Anti Theft System and that their programmer wasn’t corresponding so he called a locks smith to come to the shop and reprogram my keys. The best part about this is the fact that David didn’t overcharge me or tax me for having the guy come and I paid him directly for getting my car to start again. Thank you so much David, its genuine people like you that keeps customers as myself happy. I will be bringing my services to you as well as recommending every and anyone who has any car troubles. Horror Story Alert!!! I took my truck to aamco to service the transmission because they are allegedly «transmision specialists». After service, truck developed a small tranny leak. After several trips to 2 different locations and redo of oil change @ Inglewood & Norwalk locations, the leak remained!!! Aamco said the leak was unrelated to the service they did and i needed $ 900 in repairs! Took Truck to dealer, dealer said leak was due to slimey silicone used to seal transmission pan instead of gasket. No other repairs needed. They performed same service i paid aamco to do, and leak disapeared. Shady practices by these guys, i will say they were friendly and smiled to my face while trying to rip me off! Beware people!!!

They were getting ready to close in 30 minutes and took a look at my car anyway. Every one was friendly.
However, David exemplifies customer service. I would definitely recommend this Aamco.

I would definitely stay away from this place! I originally brought my car here because the dealer told me I needed a new transmission on my Lexus and it would cost me a lot to repair since it was out of warranty. I decided to go with AAMCO because they specialize in transmissions and they provide a warranty. The manager Derick is very nice and courteous BUT, everyone at this establishment is SHADY! They are not trustworthy and very incompetent. Yes, they did fix my transmission, not sure if they replaced or repaired everything the we discussed and I paid for but, I should have known something was wrong when I went to pick up my car. They had no idea what time I was coming and when I drove up, my car was running, windows down and nobody in the car. When I inquired why, they said they were getting it ready for me — Yeah Right! When I went to the store and came out I see why — My car wouldn’t start! When I called Derrick, the first thing he said was «We didn’t do anything to your battery! If you want I can send a tow truck at a discount.» Well, I have AAA and when they came out they said my battery was completely drained like someone left the radio or lights on. I hadn’t had my car for over a week so not only did they drain my battery, they wanted me to pay for the tow to bring it back to them. Also, when I went back for the check up, they tried to tell me other things that were wrong with my car and they could fix it for a «discount» but, when I took my car to two other shops just to verify, they said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car and that I was mis-​informed by AAMCO. No I wasn’t «mis-​informed», they were trying to RIP ME OFF! I did call the corporate office to make a complaint. I would not recommend this place at all.

Just go somewhere else. Thought I was safe by using a chain store, knowing I would pay more buy hey, a new transmission is major. And they ARE tranny specialists right? However I ended up paying more than double the initial quote, my car was done a WEEK later than promised, I had to take it back a day later cause they put an unrelated old part back on my car that I TOLD THEM WAS NOT FUNCTIONAL THATS WHY IT WAS REMOVED. I was assured they repaired it first. LIES. They mickey moused it but now I still have to take it somewhere else to repair that properly cause Im not giving them another dime. Car is running louder than it ever has been, had to make 2 appointments for a ‘free oil change’ that they still claimed to be too busy to do but reluctantly did it when I said forget it I’d rather pay somewhere else that come back at 8am on ANOTHER SATURDAY. Fool I only get 2 days off! Too busy seeing $$$ to actually LISTEN to what you tell them. Big on promises, bad on delivery. Manager wanted me to pay over $ 3,000 in CASH instead of with my debit card so he could pay his employees? DA HELL THAT GOT TO DO WITH ME??! Who walks around with 3 grand in their pocket when they have debit card? In Ingelwood? R U serious? He was. Like I said, just go somewhere else

These guys made it up to me by giving me a partial rental car refund and a car wash, so they do care about how their customers feel. The managers were really concerned about why my experience was so unsatisfactory. They also extended my warranty and the transmission is running a lot better. They do good work but they need more staff or something to deal with their volume and communicate with their customers better. Again, really nice guys but just seem overworked.

Clean office. respectful staff and very good customer service. I waited a little but only because David was offering excellent customer service to the client ahead of me. I recommend them for sure.

Truly poor service, very bad experience. Had my check engine light on and had a coupon so they can diagnose what my car is having problems with. Firs of all they couldn’t fin the code scanner for about 10 minutes. The guy who tried to see whats up with my car didnt explain anything. All he said was it MIGHT be an evap leak take it to someone who specializes in that. Yeah thats not helpful at all! Will never come back here again!

Bad place don’t go there never on time with their service they say come back at a certain time and are never ready seen many un happy customers due to this and I’m also one of them. And they get mad at us for picking up the car at the time they said and its not ready.

One word to best describes this establishment… «SCAM»
I took my car in because it would not start. They made me pay a $ 299 diagnostic fee which of course said the car was over heating. The mechanic even went as far as to send me pictures of my dash board showing the temp gage at high as if the car was really over heating. I had to explain to the smart mechanic that the problem with the car is that it will not start. It has to start in order to over heat. They tried to say I needed head work on the engine with a $ 2,000 quote. Luckily I had another mechanic look at the car before I took it to Aamco and he advised me what the real problem was.
NO JOKE, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. DON’T DO IT.

By far the worst place to take your care ! if you like confusion then that is were to take your car, they are experts at this.

Untrustworthy and incompetent, terrible service.
They could not find the source of my check engine light and kept trying to throw «new» parts at it to see if something would fix it. They keep telling me it was something different until I put my father on the phone with them. Suddenly they wanted to look more closely at it. They still could not figure it out.
They said they replaced my fuel pump and charged me for it, but I took my car to another mechanic and he showed me that there was no way that area of my car was in any way touched or the pump replaced.
It was there for almost 2 weeks. My check engine light is still on, my car was left with panels broken and left open in the dashboard and console, and black grease smeared all over the driver’s side door, both inside and out, as well as the gear shift and emergency brake. It stained permanently. Completely taken advantage of.

don’t go there! derrick the owner son is unprofessional! he tells you one thing then do another. i was told that if i pay for a advance diagnostic test that it will go towards my bill for the service. he didn’t do a ad instead he did a multi point check on my car. then said «i didn’t charge you for that.» like he did me a favor. a mpc is free! i didn’t need him to check my fluids, i get that did where i get my oil changed. i paid for what i wanted a advance diagnostic test and a oxygen sensor and he did it half way, he only change the oxygen sensor. he was rushing me, didn;t explain anything to me about the inspection. i had to ask him about the results of mpc. i called today to speak to him about the situation he push me off to the receptionist who said she is the manager, (yesterday he told me that he was the manager and it’s his father shop. as i was expaining the situation to her), she constantly interupted me then start laughing. totally unprofessional! derrick stated that because his reception didn’t come in, in come to work when she feel like it he is all over the place. been a business owner myself i understood his situation to a degree, but that those not give him the right to misinform client of the service they’ll receive.

Worst service EVER! Saturn Vue. Kept our car for over a month then loud mouthed us because we called the corporate office. Got angry at us because he had to do so much work on our car he is losing money. But they were unable to install it correctly, and messed up the electrical system while working. Did not return calls when promised, and still had a problem at the 10 day check up. Paid 3500(yikes!). Agreed to fix it «for free» like he was doing us a favor, but it was their mistake. No discounts, just disrespect from the owner. The complaint number on the wall DOES NOT WORK — it says «this voice mail is not active». Will never go there again. Go to PEP Boys on Spruce in Inglewood.

So, in the end, everything turned out okay. Turns out they had a slipshod mechanic who was lying to cover up his inadequacies. After yet another failure (after the warranty period), the manager decided to stand behind his work and comped a final repair.
My only complaint this time is that it sat for nearly a week before it saw a lift and we basically had to move into the office to pressure them to finish it off two days late. Still, it’s been flawless since then.
