Another long over due review… I’ve had bids from other contractors in the desert and Richard is by far the fairest of them all.
If you’re going to put in a pool, I can’t imagine a better contractor than Richard. He knows what he’s talking about. He knows his pools. He was spot on in terms of time and cost. When I had any concerns during the planning or construction phase I was able to email or call him and he took the time to immediately address any issues that arose.
Richard did other work as well — landscaping, built me a new BBQ, fire bowls, the whole 9 yards. I would say that I’m pleased with everything. In fact we are working on my 3^rd pool right now.

This review is long overdue but Classic Pools just went above and beyond for us so here goes. First off we met with over 10 different contractors and narrowed it down to Classic and one other company. Richard was not the cheapest but certainly the most honest and straight forward so we went with him. Richard made it very stress free and always made sure we were happy every step of the way. It’s now been over 1 year and we were completely happy until about 2 months ago when our plaster began turning yellow! Long story short our pool man screwed up. My wife and I went into panic mode and began calling several different pool guys and companies to see what we could do. We were told we needed to empty the pool and perform an acid wash and heard several quotes ranging from 400 to 900 dollars! As a last ditch effort, I called Richard and he came over the very next morning with a couple of guy’s from his crew and informed us not to worry and he would fix it at no charge!!! He had a few guys here cleaning our pool for five days until the pool was back to normal and it didn’t cost us a dime! Thats what a good company does for you. Thanks Classic Pools!!!

Richard finished my 50 ft. lap pool in Palm Desert a year ago. I wanted to wait a year before doing the review. I am very happy with it and it was a pleasure working with him. He is a likeable and trustworthy guy who makes sure you are going to be happy with the end result.

It is almost a year later and we are STILL happy with Classic Pools. When our backyard was done last year, we had about 600 square feet of concrete poured. One of the sections cracked so I called Richard to see if he would fix it. He came out, we discussed options and true to his word, the crack was taken out and pavers were placed creatively in the area of concern. It looks beautiful and again, I would not hesitate to recommend what I consider one of the best contractors I have ever worked with.

Richard and his crew remodeled our pool and backyard and we are extremely pleased with the results. He did all that we asked and we appreciated the positive attitude of all crew members– from moving and removing large boulders to hand cutting custom Quartz coping and installing 3000 sq. feet of pavers. He did the little extras that give us a good feeling every time we look at the finished result– Ralph and Karen B.

I had an issue with my pool lights that were under warranty. I notified Richard and he was out the next day fixing the problem. I was very pleased with the quick communication and results.

Richard is a straight out honest guy!!! I told him how much I had to spend and he did exactly what he said. Even made some changes at no additional costs. I am a Realtor and it is always hard to find honest guys. I picked the pool on the cover of his folder and that’s what he delivered. Thank you Classic

We researched and talked to so many, many pool contractors before we decided on Richard to put a pool in our backyard. Richard was the cheapest and highest in quality! He finished the pool in the time that he said he would. He was always responsive to our questions/​calls, was always on the job site supervising. We kept adding features, such as fire bowls, misting, lighting, to our pool while the construction was still underway. Richard was very accommodating and knowledgeable! At the end, we got the pool of our dreams with so many bells and whistles. He was and still is very responsive to our calls even AFTER the pool was built. We wanted to add some features such as outdoor showers after pool construction was finished. He was never hesitant to lend us his expertise on all things related to pool and backyard landscape. We still call him whenever we have questions on pool maintenance.
I can’t say enough good things about Richard! He is the guy if you are looking to build a pool of your dreams at the cheapest cost and fastest time frame!

In July of 2011, we sought out referrals for four (4) pool contractors. We prefer to do business with companies with very good reputations. Having people we can speak with who give personal accounts of how the process and the product turned out is also a must.
When we met Richard, his knowledge of various products, materials and the entire process made us feel most comfortable. Richard is patient and a very good listener. He showed us, in person, more than one dozen pools that he had built and that approximated either the design or materials that we wanted to incorporate in our design. I think that Richard understood what we wanted very clearly and he was willing to make our pool and landscape design truly custom for us.
Our confidence in Richard inspired us to contract him to completely remodel our entire back yard in addition to building the pool. We started with a fairly small yard and wanted a spa, pool and plenty of lounging and dining area. Richard knew how to maximize the space and give us everything we wanted but didn’t think there was room for as far as space and budget were concerned.
We also had one seemingly OUTRAGOUS request. We wanted to have all aspects of the construction and landscaping done while we were away. Having lived through the nightmare of construction several times in the past, we didn’t want to go through it again. This is an ultimate luxury that only a most professional contractor can provide. Quite frankly, it took a lot of trust in Richard for us to even consider. This worked out wonderfully.
The result? Richard created an inviting outdoor space that has a beautiful freeform pool, a sexy, stacked stone spill over spa and lush landscaping that looks as if it has been naturally in place for years. He was also able to retain room for lounging, dining and entertaining.
We are grateful for Richard, Andrea and the entire staff who did such a professional job and made every aspect of the project a pleasure. Richard somehow made all of this come in on a very competitive budget too. Just in case you think that Richard may be part of our family, he isn’t, but he feels like he is. Thank you Richard.

We contracted Classic Pools and Spas to design our backyard that included pool, spa, landscaping, decking and accent lighting – quite an extensive job. Never having had a pool built, it was a bit intimidating. From the beginning, Richard Rodriquez, the owner, made us feel comfortable and confident that he was the company to go with. We found him to be not only creative and knowledgeable, but just as importantly, honest and ethical. He delivered what he promised, and whenever we had concerns or questions, they were always addressed and answered. We feel very confident in highly recommending Classic Pools and Spas.

We recently contracted with Richard to completely re-​do our back yard. It was almost all grass with a narrow strip of plants around the edges. Richard knew all the right questions to ask and suggestions to make for us to develop our perfect design. His staff is truly hard working and proud of their outcome.
We now have a rectangular pool with a raised square spa that has two spillovers, one into the pool and one into the tanning ledge. The decking is beautiful, and Richard saved us quite a bit on it. Richard does landscaping as well, and in consultation with us completely re-​landscaped the back with native desert plants. Oh, I almost forgot: he included a round gas firepit trimmed with stone (matching the stone on the spa).
In short, I am grateful to have found such an honest, fair & personally concerned contractor. His work is of the highest quality. When the loan on the pool construction is paid down some, we’ll have him back to re-​do the front landscaping.
