Sweet grandmother’s spatula, it’s $ 18 a day to park in the garage!!! Maybe I don’t get the big deal because we were only there for one night, or because I lived in Boston and a downtown parking space for $ 18 still seems like a tremendous bargain. Truthfully, if I’d remembered my IU parking pass, I think I could have finagled my way into parking in one of the IUPUI lots for free, but oh well. I also got a good deal on and the extra $ 18 didn’t break the bank. I did have to ask if they took out a larger amount from my debit card for incidentals(they do — $ 50)… I don’t know why hotels never divulge that information. The hotel lives up to its 4-star reputation… it’s beautiful and clean. They had a carafe of watermelon-cucumber water in the lobby, which made me feel fancy. The front desk staff was attentive and professional. The guy driving the shuttle was super nice and there when we needed him. It’s in a great location… far enough away from downtown noise but close enough to be convenient. Plain and simple, I’d recommend it.

Ughhh, so crushed. I booked my stay through hotwire and was excited to be getting such a great deal on a 4 star hotel. I was a bit bummed when we arrived and found out that parking was $ 18 a day. We’re from Chicago, this is Indianapolis, $ 18 to park… really?! Ok, fine, $ 18 plus the cost of the room, still reasonable. What I’m unhappy about is that I made the mistake of taking a nice piece of jewelry with me. Which my little gimpy brain left on the bathroom counter because it blended in with granite. We checked out the next day and were still in the Indy area when I realized my error. I called within 6 hours of check out. The person at the front desk said that they would run to the room to see if it was still there. They called me back to say that house keeping hadn’t cleaned the room yet and they did not see it. I asked if I could come and take a look myself and they said no, because the moment they left housekeeping started cleaning the room. The advised me that security would call me the next day so I could report the lost item. The next day security never called me. I followed up and was told the same thing, no it hadn’t been turned in, but they would call me the next day regardless. They never called or followed up. I know I’m an idiot for bringing the bracelet with me and the hotel can easily claim that they are not responsible for lost items. However, I was hoping that by staying at a nicer place there would be a reliable person that would turn in my jewelry, not play a game of finders keepers. Big mistake, I would probably have better luck if I asked a hobo to watch over it for me. So, I can kiss my bargain goodbye, because in the end, the price of the jewelry that was lost kinda makes me want to cry.

$ 20 per day to park. $ 20 per day to park. $ 20 per day to park. $ 20 per day to park. $ 20 per day to park. $ 20 per day to park. $ 20 per day to park. Hotel restaurant and bar are both very expensive. This place sucks you in with a cheap room rate but it slowly drains you with all the hidden fees. I’d stay somewhere else. The Comfort Inn on Rockville Road is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Indy.

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights while I was in town for a friend’s wedding. I found it on for an incredibly reasonable price. The hotel is quite nice, and the staff was great. Lauren at the front desk was extremely helpful and fun. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room during the three hour window we were out of the room on saturday, which was great becuase we needed some new towels. parking was a bit of an issue. i live in chicago, so i am used to more costly parking, but it was irritating that there was no other option for my car because there is no street parking nearby. The shuttle was a really nice addition. They took us downtown at no extra cost, and gave us a card for a $ 5 cab service since we would be out past 11. The car service was unreliable, but after talking to Linda at the hotel, we were provided with additional transportation, which was awesome.

NOHOUSEKEEPINGORROOMSERVICE!!! I recently stay at University Place Hotel for a convention being held at the RCA dome. When I booked I was told a free shuttle was being run between the hotel and the convention. When I got there and asked about it I was told«Well I wouldn’t wait for the shuttle. I haven’t seen him all day(it was 2pm). He picks people up and sometimes they want to stop at CVS and stuff, so you’ll be waiting awhile.» I ended up spending more that $ 40 on cabs over 2 days because it’s too far to walk(20 – 30 min each way) — not to mention they charge you $ 14 a day to park there, and you are near nothing else and the parking is for hotel guests only. Next, we ordered room service. An hour and 15 minutes later they brought the wrong order. I called down and informed them of what our order really was. They brought it up, and surprise!– some food was missing, no silverware and no condiments! I called again and gave them a list of what they forgot. They came back up with some of it. We just gave in at that point(2 hours after order)… then I got the bill. They billed us someone else’s order. Instead of under $ 20 it was $ 46. The coup de gra’ce was when we walk in the door the first evening to see that room service never came to our room! I called down and asked that they send someone up. We ditched out for about an hour, and when we came back, there were 3 towels and folded sheets sitting on the desk… next to the tray of room service dishes from the morning– UNTOUCHED!(I tossed the tray and all the dirty towels into the hall– they did manage to get that cleaned up by the next morning.) There is no reason to say at this hotel, unless you enjoy being systematically irritated into submission.
