History

Established in 2013.

Salon 64 opened in September of 2013. I fell in love with the space and it’s location. I love how many fun things there are to do in this area! So many fabulous restaurants and boutiques:)

After graduating from The Aveda Fredriks Institute, I spent four amazing years at Salon Orange Moon. My Mentors shared so much guidance and wisdom, I will be forever grateful! This is the next step to my personal and entrepreneurial goals. I love coloring and cutting hair. This has been my dream since childhood. Come let me change how you feel about your hair! I accept and welcome any clients who just can’t seem to find the right hair stylist!

Not only is Marchelle really personable, but she also cuts and styles hair like a boss. I have very think, coarse, wavy hair and Marchelle is the first stylist in my 36 years of life who actually knew how to work with my hair. She was able to compliment the nature of my hair and I have never been happier with a cut.
Side bonus, she massaged my head while shampooing, a delightful touch!
Basically, she’s awesome.

They don’t call her ‘The Hair Whisperer’ for nothing!
I was at the end of my rope with my blah grown out hair and was referred to Marchelle through
. It was the day before my birthday and I was having a hair emergency.
We spoke at length about what I wanted and she went to work. Clumps of hair fell to the floor as she transformed my drab do into a stylish shag a la Edward Scissorhands.
I could not have been more happy with the results. It was exactly what I wanted. I’m thrilled to have finally found someone to work hair miracles for me! Thank you SO much :)

Marchelle charges the same amount as another salon I had been going to regularly for a haircut and highlights, but I’m much happier with the results and got more bang for my buck (awesome scalp massage and even a hand and arm massage while my color processed). It is evident that she takes pride in her work and wants you to leave with what you asked for. This was my first visit and I will be a returning customer.

Marchelle just cut my hair for the first time. I brought along a picture and she thoroughly explained the amount of styling required with the cut.
She dry cut my hair, then gave my an awesome shampoo and scalp massage. I wish I could come back for this part every day.
Marchelle spent over an hour with me, double checking her work to make sure my cut looked perfect. She taught me to recreate my style at home too. I’m really excited I found Marchelle! I had lots of compliments on my new cut!
I’m giving her 4 stars because she was meeting with another new client right before me, so she was about 20 minutes behind schedule.

I always get many compliments on my cut and color after my appointments with Marchelle. I discovered her years ago at Salon Orange Moon and followed her to her new studio in Broad Ripple. Not only does she do fabulous work, she is also an amazing person to know. She got me through a pretty rough time a couple years ago — she is a great listener. She also has a beautiful singing voice!

Marchelle is the best in Indy, hands down. I found her years ago at Salon Orange Moon, and went as often as I could to pour out my heart and walk out with a fantastic cut that always got major positive comments. I followed her after she left, and she even cut my hair in her kitchen on between jobs. She has her own place now, and is completely crushing it. You will be completely satisfied with your haircut, and if you’re lucky, you’ll leave with a new friend. I know I did.

Marchelle is awesome. I always get compliments on my haircuts, and recently, she colored my hair, and the responses have been overwhelmingly positive, ranging from «It looks so natural» to «You should have had her do this years ago!» Beyond that, the most pragmatic testament I can give as to how great Marchelle’s talents are with hair is that I followed her from Salon Orange Moon, which was close to my house, to her current space at Studio 64 in Broad Ripple, which is about 30 minutes away. And I’d follow her farther!

I love Marchelle! Every time I go to her she does an incredible job. If I’m undecided or want to do something different with my hair, she works with me to figure out the perfect look and I am always so pleased! She is also just such a lovely person and I really enjoy visiting with her. Highly, highly recommended! :)
