Hands down the best habachi in town. I have been coming here for years and it still beats out Benihana or any other Japanese restaurant. The ginger salad dressing is the best I have ever had and the grilled habachi is always spot on, regardless of what meat you get. The sushi is fire too.

Walked in and was greeted with a weird smell. We went to sit down at the hibachi table and we had an unwanted guest — a roach crawled out from under our menu. We quickly walked out. There was MAYBE a dozen other guests in the restaurant and it has been open for over 1.5 hrs. Guess those were our signs!

Very nice hibachi and sushi place me and my family eat here a lot I love it here probably the best hibachi grill in Indianapolis Indiana I would definitely suggest this to anyone who loves #1 sushi and #2 hibachi grills the atmosphere is amazing with the fish pond in the back ground I love it here Ps your cup will never run dry they always refill it when it’s half gone chefs are very funny and willing to engage in conversation with guests if you get sushi I suggest the dragon roll it is delicious

My first time here was with my wife and her Unilocal Elite self. The sushi was waaaaaayyy above my expectations. I find it hard to find QUALITY sushi in town. This visit, we had the tribe in tow… ALLFIVEOFOURCHILDREN! … The hibachi show was dope! The sushi, again, didn’t disappoint. The bill… Well, we had five kids with us. What do you think it was like? Lol… I love my experience here and I will continue to visit… Maybe less, or even NO kids next time… I’m overdue for sake and a flaming volcano!

This was a fun time. We brought our FIVE(yes, five) kids here for a back-to-school dinner after a long day of school shopping. It was the first time our children had been to a hibachi restaurant. The server was impatient and easily confused but the chef was pretty good. He had a smile on his face the whole time, but at times it seemed forced as though he was tired of doing the same schtick over and over again(which I’m sure he was). He did a really good job, though, considering he had to custom split our food orders up. It was also a bit of a turn off when, as he was preparing food for the table next to us, he kept leaning back to see what [tip] we had written on the check. The food itself was typical hibachi fare, nothing extraordinary. The sushi, however, was delicious and fresh; it was actually our most favorite part of the evening. My husband and I have been before on a random date night and dined in the sushi area and I believe the next time we visit Sapporo that’s what we’ll do again. Not anything against the hibachi chefs per se, but I don’t like feeling like a chore when I’m dining. Not to say that all of the chefs will be the same, but on that particular evening, and maybe it was the fact that it was a Friday night, all three of the hibachi chefs were wearing the same mood. Overall, it was a fun time with pretty good food. The kids had a blast and the fiery, onion volcano that the chef built on the griddle was really cool. Next time, though, sushi and drinks will be our cuisine.

I skipped the hibachi prepared food and went with sushi. The Crunch Munch roll was fantastic. The Colts roll left something to be desired and the Dragon roll was a lot smaller and had less flavor than my favorite Dragon roll from Askaka just around the corner. Quick service and pretty standard in terms of offerings. Not amazing but not bad. If you want a semi nice dinner on a Saturday night with no reservations and a short wait time this place is perfect for you. The hibachi grills mixed with humidity does make for a muggy restaurant in July though!

The flavors are traditional and classic and this restaurant offers a wide variety of Asian options. We like to start with the apple sake, made in house and very tasty! The yakatori and egg rolls are my top recommended appetizers and we love to split a combination hibachi plate with 1 or 2 sushi rolls. Service is always prompt and professional and we always leave satisfied. A great sushi /hibachi combination on the north side.

Ick. If you’ve ever had great sushi, don’t go here. Nasty. The place smells like 10 year old air and the sushi is better in groceries.

Wasn’t impressed with the outside or even the inside, but I am overly impressed with the food and the hospitality! The sushi and habachi grill items were awesome!

Last time I ate here was on my twelfth birthday. I’m twenty three now and nothing has changed much but the collected dust. The food is exactly how I remembered though, stellar, impressive and very entertaining. The décor… is of course the same and now dated. The beautiful koi fountain is well taken care of as well as everything else however. I will be returning as long as they’re in business. I’m really rooting for this place.

Great sushi! Great staff! Every time I’m in Castleton and craving sushi, this is the place to go. They have a large menu but not overwhelming. The also have hibachi however I always go straight for the sushi. Fast service! Always delicious!

Was here for a birthday celebration last night. This place is more like 2 ½ but you’re won’t let me do that. Maybe they should fix that. The service was okay. The food was decent but the chef had very little personality. Usually when I go to these type of places the chef is funny and tells jokes and entertained everyone. He unfortunately didn’t do much just cooked our food. That was a bit disappointing. also most places like this include fried rice. This place charges extra for it so Pay attention to that. This place defiantly needs to be updated, I think I when you’re along long time ago when it first opened and everything was still exactly the same. Even the water looked like it hadn’t been swapped out ! It was really dirty and cloudy. As a fish lover I felt sorry for the fish! Hey guys!!! You can do better, untapped potential than my opinion.

Went to Sapporo with my wife and son on Sunday and enjoyed a great meal and show! The chef was very active in engaging his audience and my son really enjoyed trying to catch some egg hot off the griddle in his mouth and watching the beautiful koi in the very large koi pond. We were seated with a rather eccentric family that was frankly pretty openly rude to the waitstaff but the Sapporo staff took their behavior well in stride. The food, once prepared and served with panache was super tasty – very flavorful! We look forward to going back.

I loved hibachi and hadn’t visited one in a while so when the husband surprised me for dinner on V-Day I was pretty excited. We were at a table with a few other couples and one had a kid but that was great because our chef was really animated with him and made the dinner that much more enjoyable. The atmosphere is very nice. You walk in and almost right into a fairly large indoor Koi pond. Then the hostesses are friendly and quick. We were running late due to the weather and they improvised with no hiccups. We ordered hot sake and Sapporo which was imperative for the occasion and my husband got the NY sushi I think. He liked the sushi so there you go. Once dinner got rolling our chef was very enthusiastic, charismatic and, of course, hilarious. Very involved and constantly asked questions which was nice, sometimes I get awkward when the chefs are shy… The food hit the spot and the fried rice was so heavenly. I could eat plates of the stuff, like crack. The only complaint, and the reason behind the 4 stars, is that my chicken teriyaki was pretty tough and chewy. Just a little overcooked. But otherwise yummy. Will be sure to visit again!

Service and food was mediocre. My udon noodle soup was served with a whole egg floating on top. Problem is that the egg was half raw. I ordered a spicy scallop hand roll. It was OK, but nothing special. The food took over 20 minutes to be served and the restaurant was half empty. Won’t be coming back.

The sushi and miso soup came out first and we were delighted to have chosen to eat here. They were perfect! Then came the hibachi chef. I’m sorry but if you do not have a Japanese hibachi chef then your hibachi is probably not going to be good. Whilst he was entertaining, all of our dishes were seasoned with soy sauce, soy sauce, and more soy sauce. I wanted to ask him if he had ever heard of sesame oil or pepper. The vegetables, meat, and fried rice all tasted the same. Sorry Sapporo, you have a nice ambiance but you need to season your food with something other than soy sauce. Your hibachi chefs should taste the garbage they’re cooking.
