Puccini’s Smiling Teeth

We have been ordering from Puccini’s for over 6 years. The customer service is just plain awful it’s gotten worse over the last two to three years I guess the number one requirement to work there is to be rude. I ordered my usual item today and the person simply hung up. Rude. This happens everytime. I have to call back to get a total. Don’t even deal with delivery because I live around the block approx 1.1 mile and they always take over an hour to get to you. Management needs to be reviewed. I’m going to start saving money by going elsewhere

Delicious pizza and pasta. However, the first restaurant I’ve visited where the children’s meal did not include a drink and side. If your looking for small restaurant, this place is ideal.

I have been eating here both in and carry out since they opened. Sometimes I forget how good their food actually is. We probably average getting food here once a month. I can NOT remember a time that we’ve ever been disappointed. I owe them a 5 star review, way overdue, as they have feed my family with good food at reasonable prices for so many years! Thank you Puccini’s!
Now, some food highlights, not speaking of tonight, but from many years. Every pizza is good as long as you like the toppings you’re rolling with. But for me, the BAR 20 is near perfect. If you like some good pasta, but want to mix it up, Try the Shrimp Santa Cruz. Sweet, spicey, smokey, Hard to describe, but it really is a great and different dish. Now, here’s a tip, if you’re having pasta, it’ll comes with a side salad. Ask to upgrade to the Anti-​pasta salad. They charge you like $ 2 more, and it’s a complete meal in and of its self. When I order delivery, I leave that salad separate for my next day’s lunch. I personally am not much of a bread guy, but, wow, their bread sticks are addictive! But, got to remember to add the nacho cheese sauce.
Look, this is not fine dining. This is a very, very good pizza/​pasta/​sandwich place, good for the whole family, with beer and limited, but priced affordably wines. You won’t break the bank here, you’ll get some very tasty food, and most probably have left overs for the next day. I’ve visited several locations, all have been good.
A footnote. When I ordered tonight from the 79^th and Sunnyside store, the young lady on the phone admitted she was only 2 weeks into working there when answering one of my questions, but she could not have been more pleasant and friendly. It seems most of the time when you order delivery, the people on the other end of the phone are either very business like, which is always fine with me, or they sound somewhat annoyed. I’m talking in general, not necessarily Puccini’s. But, this young lady was very nice, and you could hear the smile on her face. If her boss reads this review, I hope they give her a pat on the back. (Should of asked her name, my mistake.)

Loved it, food, service and atmosphere all excellent. Very family friendly place! We went for a family birthday celebration and they were very accommodating. I will go back for sure.

Picked up my pizza and scamorza tonight and there is really nothing great I can say about either. The scamorza is a oily mess in a styrofoam cup with bread that is cold and my pizza was given to me lukewarm and that’s being nice. I called the manager (Ryan) and instead of dealing with the issues, he decided that it was better customer service to discount all of the issues I had. He left me on hold for 7 minutes while trying to look up my order and finally came back to the phone stating that he was going to give me a $ 10 credit and he didn’t know why my pizza would be cold. I told him that the $ 10 credit would do me no good because I wouldn’t be back. Not only do they need to learn a lesson in customer service, they need to take more pride in the food they are serving.

I went last night based on everyone’s recommendations. I saw little of my waiter but the girls did a nice job refilling my soda. I got the margherita pizza and I was disappointed: I hardly found basil and it wasn’t fresh, tomato mushy, and the roasted garlic tasted bitter. I don’t splurge on pizza very often, but when I do I like fresh ingredients.

I am beyond thankful that Puccini’s has entered into the Gluten Free game. Their separate menu provides many different options beyond just pizza, including appetizer, salads, pasta dinners, sandwiches, and chicken dinners.
The pasta is made of corn and tastes pretty good. The pizza crust isn’t bad, it tastes more potato based and can take a lot longer to reheat in the oven the next day than normal pizza. They up charge for gluten free pizza is just a dollar more than non-​gluten free pizza, but the catch is that you can only order the pizza in the medium size. Sadly, one of the best pizzas, the bar20, isn’t gluten free.
The staff is always friendly. This location is on the smaller side if you chose to eat in, it can get crowded, especially Friday– Sunday. They do offer delivery if you live within the area for $ 1.75, but it can sometimes be quicker to just go and pick up your food.

I’ve been a regular at Puccini’s for about 4 years. Lately, things have slipped. In my last order one of my sides was screwed up. A couple weeks ago my calzone was very soggy – barely edible.
I may return, but will try some of the competition in the interim and see what they have to offer.

Years ago, my husband and I randomly stopped at Puccini’s. We didn’t pay much attention to where we were, as we were on a road trip from Chicago and stopped here on a whim as an alternative to fast food. Ever since then, we’ve drooled over the memories of their homemade ranch dressing, the best pizza ever, and such a memorable experience but couldn’t remember the name of the place. We didn’t recognize the exterior because so much other retail has evolved around it in this area, but thankfully hit the jackpot on the way back into town recently and are once again in love. (We ate at the Puccini’s at 86^th and Ditch– closest to the Allisonville Rd exit off 465. This location is next to Babies R Us).
The food is absolutely spectacular. I soooo wish there was a pizza joint this dreamy in Chicago, but nothing compares to Puccini’s. The service is quick and friendly (although a young staff all around when we were there), and the food arrived fast after placing an order. The décor is unremarkable with checkered table cloths, and the booths are small. Both visits had tables open, but I so hope this place stays busy and open, as the food is just to die for.
The salads– such a simple thing, but they are so good! The dressings are homemade and you can totally taste the difference. All portions are generous, but they are worth every bite. There is a wide variety (BBQ, greek, wedge, spring mix with cranberries, pecans, blue cheese), but we each devoured the dinner salad with homemade buttermilk herb ranch. A big hit with the kids too (pre-​teens).
There are a nice selection of dinner entrees– lots of vegetarian options, low carb favorites, and you can get gluten-​free pizza and spaghetti too if that’s your thing.
Personally, I love pizza and this is what I come here for. We had to send our server away because we couldn’t decide what to order. It was a draw between the campfire (smoked sausage, sweet onion marmalade, goronzola & rosemary) and the bama jam (pecans– on a pizza– seriously unexpectedly delicious!). We went with the bama jam and were not disappointed. The flavors in this puppy were fantastic. Terrific crust, a great mix of savory, just the right amount of cheese. Yum. We also ordered the chicken bada bing calzone (chix, ricotta, goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes). The homemade marinara sauce for dipping was the best I have ever had. We were so stuffed– it was worth every delicious bite!
The regular pizzas (cheese, pepperoni) were a hit with the kids– crust was just right (crispy, full bodied flavor– not to thick and not too thin) and the cheese nice and gooey. The sauce was really good too. No complaints from any of them. :) On top of that, our server was nice enough to re-​direct us to a medium half and half vs. ordering two smalls for our boys to save a few bucks. I love it when places do that. Very much appreciated!
Unilocal exists for places like this! I am officially a huge fan of Indianapolis and have marked this place on our Rand McNally. Have to admit I’m a bit jealous of you guys in Indy who can go here whenever you want. This place is such a scrumptious memory in my mind, I asked the server if they sold their plates (which have ‘Puccini’s Smiling Teeth’ on the edge). I’m sure she thought I was crazy, and the young kitchen staff couldn’t figure out how to sell me a plate, much to my disappointments. However, I’m convinced after writing this review and having a taste bud flashback to their food, from now on I’ll remember this place. Can’t recommend it enough!

We come here often. Its a very affordable high end pizza place that also has some pretty tasty italian pasta dishes and killer salads! The Wait staff is really great, very friendly, service is very fast, and we pratically have our own server who we have come to like quite a lot– he isnt the best waiter-​admittedly– but has a great sense of humor. (actually he is a pretty great server and is confident enough in his abliltiies to be somewhat self deprecating– which is fun.)
Its a fun place, locally owned with locally produced art on the walls. From what I understand the owners are really cool people to work for so there is like no turnover– most of the staff has been here for many years. That says a lot about how a place is run, in my opinion.
The prices are quitre reasonable, the variety of Pizzas is amazing and the ingredients are all fresh and plentiful.
Thsi is a great place for families, parties, really just about anyone.

I eat here more than anywhere else. Food is great, especially the pizza.

This place was suggested by a friend, who lives in Louisville, KY. The ambiance was nice and quiet. Good for parties and a great way to get your fill of pasta and pizza. Also beer too. I had the pesto basil pasta with a corona. It was excellent. Some of my other friends had pizza, which they thought it was good too.
Good, fast service.

I love Puccinis! Everything is delicious. The campfire pizza is definitely my favorite. Scrum-​dilly-​umptious! They have a good beer selection as well as great service.
