Place To Live Rentals

I thought I was renting through this company, but they just show houses. They gloss over that you won’t be signing with them, I didn’t realize until I saw a different company name, Alpine Property Management, on the lease. The realtors don’t mind lying about anything and everything to get you to sign a lease. There were major repairs needed done before I moved in, got assurances they would be done, and when I moved in… not a thing had been touched. Talked to the property management company (ie the slumlords) and they told me nothing had come in about it. I couldn’t live in my house the first month!
Worst experience I’ve had with a company, ever.

Avoid at all cost! We started looking for a home to rent in indianapolis in June knowing our current lease was up in October. The company allows you to look at 1 property before paying a fee of $ 30 to apply to rent from them. We lived 90 minutes north so we wanted to set up to see more than 1 property. This was not allowed! After looking at 1 property we found another we wanted to look at. We explained it was in the neighborhood we wanted to live in and was told as soon as we paid the fee we could look at it. We paid the fee and then was told someone placed a deposit on that property so it wasn’t available! WTF! Don’t list properties if they aren’t available. After that they Never called us back to see if we wanted to look at any other property. Terrible! So they got our money and didn’t bother with us again! Wish I would have spent more time on google reading other’s complaints. Seems like this is standard for them

We rented a house through this company a year ago. It had a detached garage, and at the time of the showing it was locked. The agent was unprepared and didn’t have a key, but assured us the garage was electric and we would get buttons to open it when we moved in. After moving in, we found this to be false. In fact, there is not even electricity running to the garage. I called and spoke to a gentleman and explained the problem. He said quote «We’re not going to install anything in that garage for you, so you better just give up now» and then hung up. I was astounded. Stay away from this terrible business

I rented a house through Place To Live Rentals. After seeing the other review on Unilocal I was hesitant, but I went in to there office, met the leasing agent and looked at 2 houses. 1 of them was perfect for my family so I paid the $ 35 app fee which I thought was kind of a lot, but the deposit on the house was only 350 and the rent was 50 cheaper a month than the other ones in that neighbor hood. Also, they negotiated with the landlord and got me window AC units for the summer. All in all I thought the experience went well considering I needed to move immediately and they were able to get me a good deal.

I feel like this is an identity scam, I have sent an email and called re a house a I would like to look at. This place states in its voicemail that you need to fill out an application first before even meeting and looking at a property. I am not comfortable with giving out personal information such as my SSN until I have met someone, see that it is a viable rental and agree that I would like to rent a property. I can’t even get someone to return my correspondance so how would they be as a property manager? Don’t waste your time with this place
