One of the better beer selections I’ve seen in Indy Metro. Beer web sites seem to rave about 21st Amendment, but this place is loads better than them. They have a number of rare bombers you likely won’t find elsewhere, and that number is roughly tripled by what they have out of the fridges. This is a great place to go if you’re looking to try new beers. For pricing, they tend to have discounts on certain items so it’s better to remain open. If you’re specific about what you want, then you’ll likely pay more for it. The staff remains behind the counter and has always been looking at videos with each other on their phones every time I’ve been in. But at least you don’t have to wait for them to come over so you can pay. Just don’t expect someone to come up and ask if you need help.

So many people reference this liquor store and tell me how great it is. I’ve stopped by twice lately. The first time The Stella Artois case was $ 4 more than down the street at Kroger. The second time we priced out some other imports, microbrews, captain and tequila — all of which were more expensive than anywhere else we stopped at. They do have a large selection of microbrews and import beers that you don’t always find elsewhere, but I would look around if you want a better deal. It was nice at the front they have the freezers so you can have your premixed strawberry daiquiris and jäger already cold so it’s perfect by the time you get to where you are going. The place is clean but seriously… there are 8 other liquor stores within a mile of this place.

Payless Liquors is THE place to go around here… they’ve got an amazing selection of pretty much everything. I’m not into wine, but there’s a whole corner of the store full of wine, so I’m assuming that’s a pretty large selection. ;) I don’t drink beer either, but I know several beer people, and they love the place. The employees are really chill and will answer questions for you. One of the dudes turned me on to my current favorite drink after I took his suggestion and gave it a try.(Crispin brand cider, if you’re wondering!) I’m also a big fan of vodka and there’s an entire aisle of the stuff. Be prepared to spend a little time just marveling at how large the store is and how much stuff is crammed in to every spot without the entire place feeling crowded. Prices are definitely competitive and there are several items that I find here that I’ve not seen in any other liquor store I’ve visited. Check them out next time you’re in the market for some tasty beverages… or ingredients to make said beverages. :)
