Omni Severin Hotel

I absolutely love this hotel. It is beautiful and close to everything that you want to do downtown. The employees are the nicest group of people I have encountered in such a long time. Each time I return, they make me feel so special. They go out of their way to make you happy. I believe that the person or persons do the hiring has a unique gift of knowing who to hire and who not to. It didn’t matter who I encountered while there, that certain employee always had a smile on their face and was always willing to go out of their way to help. While on the elevator I had the privilege to meet the maintenance man. He even went out of his way to help me with my luggage in my room. Then when I realized that I wanted to change rooms, he helped me to my new room. Even when I book through a 3^rd party, they still give me free internet in my room. I
can’t think of anything that they could change that would make my stay more comfortable. Thanks Omni for making my stay always so wonderful.

I was hesitant to stay after reading some rather scathing reviews, but the Omni was amazing! FIVE STARS FOR STAFF, friendly and very helpful! Valet was a little behind this morning but it was snowing and 8 am so that’s expected. Bed linens, pillows, and towels were all up to par, this is something I’m rather nit picky about. Bathroom was small but it’s a historic hotel that’s 103 yr old so no big deal. We got a great deal on Hotwire for $ 150 and valet was an extra $ 38. All in all, I’d stay here again and would recommend to anyone!

I recently visited Indianapolis on business and stayed at the Omni. It was my first stay and overall, I would say it’s okay but not the best hotel. Maybe I wouldn’t be so critical if they didn’t say they were a «luxury» hotel.
I got an executive king room and to be honest, I’m really glad I didn’t get a regular room. It was pretty tiny even for the larger executive room. Most chain hotels have larger rooms. It might not be such a big deal but there is no lighting. It’s like a dark cave. There was a lamp on the nightstand and a lamp on the desk, that’s it.
Also, most importantly, my cellphone had bad service in my room. I have Verizon and I could receive and make calls but they were a jumbled mess, we couldn’t understand one another. I could text so it was alright but if you are planning to do business, think again.
The staff was less than friendly. The lady who checked me in was barely pleasant. When I checked out, I needed to retrieve my car from the valet. Now it wasn’t even 8 am yet and there were only two other guests in the lobby. There was no one at the valet stand and so I had to trek back in to the front desk where the staff member seemed less than pleased to have to call valet herself. It took them over 15 minutes to bring me my car and they had let it idle for quite some time because it was warm. I don’t care if my car is warm, just bring it to me.
Would I stay again? Maybe. It was really quiet, the price was decent, and the location was good.

Clean and open. Just stopped in for the first floor amenities which were great. Staff were very friendly.

My fiancé and I decided to spend an extra night in Indy to celebrate his birthday and chose Omni to spend the evening. From the moment we walked in the door the staff at this hotel were kind and welcoming. This has been by far the best experience I have ever had at a hotel, the staff went above and beyond and we appreciate the positive experience

Its pretty classy. Breakfast was the diamond in the rough for me – it really set me right from the start. Very professional staff all the way around. The pool was a little small, but we were not there to swim… the water was perfect temp though and that plus the pool cleanliness made up for the lack of its size. I would stay here again with my family. Go for the package deal with this!

I am writing this from the perspective of planning events & booking groups.
My colleague and I often book incoming training groups and host events and we absolutely love to work with the Omni. Diondra & Cristy particularly keep us coming back. They are reliable, responsive, and absolutely delightful. Our guests consistently enjoy their stay and the Select Guest program (fresh coffee delivered to your room and free wifi on the first stay?!) is unmatched.

I must say I expected a LOT more from both the price and the hotel chain. Other than the fact it is right downtown, this hotel is basic and not worth the money.
Never in my life have I paid so much and received so little. Our room was tiny, barely fit a double bed (which was suppose to be a king, when asked about it, I was told there were no other rooms in the hotel). I have never seen a bathroom that was so small. It was the perfect size for a hobbit.
I don’t think I will ever stay here again. Not worth the money, I mean over 200 dollars a night in INDIANAPOLIS! I’d have more room if I’d stayed in my car… of course, parking was ridiculously expensive… so it won’t have been much cheaper.

Thank-​you, Omni, for another fantastic stay in your hotel this past weekend. When our friends are in town, we almost always recommend Omni for their stay. We usually get a room, too. Convenient location, reasonable prices and great customer service has made us loyal patrons. This weekend was no different. With 6 rooms between us, we were all pleased with the quality and comfort Omni provides. We will continue to recommend and stay ourselves!

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times. We go for the plaza suites with a balcony. Small but nice rooms. The restaurant, 1913 is way overpriced for the food quality and preparation. Food is not bad but just ok. The Severin Bar (single bar next to reception desk) is creepy. We had a drink while waiting for our room to be available upon check in. The bartender just stood there staring at us the entire time.
Overall it’s a nice hotel but the service and management are absolutely horrible!
Our last stay was for two nights. We got zero sleep both nights because of some kids partying in the next room all night. And I mean all night! They were completely drunk and obnoxious. Had a stereo set up on the balcony and blasted it well into the early am hours. Techno at 3am anyone? No thanks.
Several guests in surrounding rooms complained and security was up there at least half a dozen times the first night. They would quiet down for about 15 minutes then start up again each time.
By the second night, hotel management didn’t even bother with them.
I tried to speak with a manager in the morning to ask for a refund or at least partial refund, comped parking, free coffee…
Anything.
There was no manager working that weekend. This was October 11, 2015.
I have since tried multiple times to contact a manager by phone and email.
Still nothing.
I recently received an email from the assistant desk manager, who offered $ 25 off a standard room for one night. Not even enough to make up for parking there ($ 38/​day.)

I wrote back and called but again, no response.
I used to like this hotel and would have stayed again if they would have attempted to make amends. But they obviously do not care about loyal repeat customers and management, if there is any, makes that lack of interest in guests very obvious.
I’ll will stay elsewhere when in Indy, which is quite often.
But hey! I know where to stay if I want to have an obnoxious party and disturb all of the other guests without any consequences!

Wow. WOw. WOW! I’ve been to hotels around the world and the Omni Severin is officially my favorite. My company has offices in Indianapolis and as a reward for even us Indy locals, rooms at Omni. I was able to check in at 9a for my night stay and was upgraded by the desk agent Angelica. The suite was 2 floors including a gorgeous view and spiral staircase — I wish I could have stayed longer! The bed was sublime, valet was easy, and everyone was very friendly and eager to help with anything we needed.

Bartender, Jack was incredibly rude and inconsiderate. We sat down and waited for 5 minutes before even being acknowledged. There was a group of men who he talked to the entire time we were there which wasn’t long because we were so disgusted. Paid $ 12 each for mimosas and got service as if we were at McDonalds. Never got a thank you or anything. We talk to the concierge about it and he, Andrew, was incredibly nice and apologetic.

Ok… I travel quite a bit and have stayed in a lot of quality hotels. I live in Indianapolis, but had a one night staycation downtown at the Omni.
First things first, I’m not familiar with parking options in this area. It was a little confusing, I think you may have to valet park, which is fine, but just putting that out there. It’s like 38 dollars for overnight parking. The valet service is great and friendly.
The lobby has a bar and restaraunt, I didn’t eat there, but it looks nice. The service at the front desk was good.
OK so I got to my room and this is where I start deducting points. 300 dollars for a room in Indianapolis is fairly pricey. I expect to get what I paid for. For starters, this was not the room I booked. Online it showed a larger balcony with chairs, which I know is available because I saw real pictures on tripadvisor. I had also selected two full or queen beds, I can’t remember which they were. My room had a little ledge of a balcony, no chairs, one king bed. I could have requested a change of rooms, but who ever wants to deal with that?.. nothing irritates me more than taking the time to pick specific things that get overlooked. Like why even ask if you’re just going to give me whatever room works for you?
The room itself left a lot to be desired. I’m sure most in Indianapolis probably do, however, it was super dark and dungeon-​y. The glasses and ice bucket are awkwardly kept in some TV cabinet. The carpet was nice, the bed was clean and comfortable. The couch and chair were stained and worn. The bathroom was small and very hospital-​esque.
We had a good view of the old union station and Lucas oil stadium, wish we’d had more of a city view.
All in all, it was alright… I guess that’s all you csn expect here. Just seemed a little overpriced.

Absolutely lovely lobby in which to sit and chat. Not only that but the lobby wifi is good and strong as well! A friend stayed in this hotel and she had no known complaints about her stay either. The restroom in the lobby was also rather well maintained. And the door person was great at letting us know when the rain let up and helping us gain our bearings such that I could get back to my hotel. Looked like a nice hotel at which to stay.

Everything looks a little worn out and rooms are A little cramped. Lighting is not the best, especially if you need to use the bathroom at nighttime. More likely relative to the age of the building and it’s restoration the water out of the pipes is extremely musty kind of taste like a peat bog. If you don’t like your water taste like single malt scotch you can always buy the seven dollar bottle of water they have by the TV. The bathtub is extremely shallow, more like a shower stall. Be careful when you flush the toilet and be sure to stand back because it flushes so vigorously is slings water across the bathroom floor; kind of gross.
The bed linens were very nice however the mattress itself is likely over 10 years old it was very creaky and would fold in the center. Nice blackout shades over the windows.
Location is pretty sweet too in the bar downstairs pours the cocktails kind of heavy if you know what I mean.

The manager at Omni contacted me immediately and apologized for the woman’s behavior at the front desk and let me know how embarrassed he was that an employee would speak that way to a guest.
He offered us another night in a suite to make up for it, complimentary, and though we had to move away to Dallas for our jobs shortly after, we were not able to try it out, but I was so appreciative of the kind gesture. It was nice to know that that sort of behavior is incredibly uncommon and unacceptable and I am confident that my next stay with Omni will be enjoyable.

My parents always stay at the Omni when they are in town visiting and it is a lovely hotel. The customer service is outstanding, the location is convenient, and the rooms are very nice. The suites facing south have awesome views of Lucas Oil Stadium and balconies. The Omni is also attached through above ground tunnel access to circle center mall which is convenient. The Severin bar in the lobby is great and the Starbucks in the lobby is convenient too.

Had a 2 week stay and was treated with true hospitality and professionalism. Tony B. Helped me find all the good music spots and was over the top customer service, Melvin knew my omelet without asking every day. April was a great limo driver and got me to my regular morning stop ahead of time all the time. Lucy C. Was also very helpful at letting me know what bands were playing where and had good recommendations for food and fun ! I will be staying here next visit to Indianapolis for sure. My stay at the Omni Severin was absolutely amazing! I was in town for a seminar that was taking place at the hotel, so I was able to fully enjoy all of the hotel’s services, including the meeting rooms and catering.
The hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. There is a sky bridge that attaches to hotel to the Circle Center mall with lots of shopping and dining options. Even outside of the mall, there are MANY varied dining options available. It is located directly across from the Indianapolis Union Station (and only blocks away from the Indiana Statehouse, Monument Circle, the Lucas Oil Stadium and the Bankers Life Fieldhouse) and was actually built to service the passengers on the trains. The historic building has a lot of charm and still has the original chandelier and post box. I really enjoyed these little details and the historic nature of the hotel.
Within the lobby of the building there is access to the 1913 Restaurant, Severin Bar, Wine Thief, and Starbucks. This made it an even more convenient location to stay at!
The guest rooms are quite spacious and incredibly comfortable. The staff provides nothing but superb customer service, across the board. From my room on the 12^th floor I was provided with a beautiful view of downtown Indianapolis.
I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and I would definitely encourage everyone to consider the hotel for business or pleasure in the downtown Indianapolis area (I saw a few weddings being planned and what a grey location to have one)! In fact, I am now very eager to try other Omni hotels during my travels because my experience here was so wonderful!

The rooms here are pretty small. I was only one person and I made it work for me, but I did feel a bit cramped. Especially in the bathroom.
I went to make some tea in the coffee pot in the room and was pretty disappointed when I noticed how dirty it was. I went down to the lobby hoping the Starbucks attached to the hotel was still open, but no luck. I was told that the bar could make me a cup, which they did. However it cost me $ 5 for a cup of hot water and a tea bag. So much for the complimentary in room tea and coffee.
