I’ve been going to this barber shop my whole life and I can’t say enough great things about it. Nice people and a nice hair cut what more can a guy ask?

This was my second time coming here and having Mary cut my hair. She didn’t really do what I asked and when I got home, after my shower I noticed there were hairs she missed etc. When cutting your hair short this really stands out. Not sure i’ll be back after my last haircut.

I’ve had 3 different people here cut my hair and 2 of the 3 I have walked away extremely satisfied. Jim is my favorite to have my hair cut. He takes the time to do it right. Much better than going to Sports Clips. If you are looking to a upscale hair cut with out the upscale price you need to come here.

I came in for the first time, and asked for a light trim. I said just take off a little, and I asked to have it blocked, not tapered. I GOTSCALPED. SERIOUSLYPISSED.

Time for my baby’s(Charlie) first haircut! He’s 14 months old w/a head full of hair which was beautiful for the first year but quickly turned into a Michael-Jackson-bangs-in-the-front and mullet-in-the-back sort of style.(I know, its hard to even imagine.) We chose Nora Barbershop based on a recommendation from a friend who(like me) wanted to support a local business versus a national kiddie haircut chain. Her recommendations are always on point — this place was perfect! Things I loved about Nora Barbershop: –Its been around for 55+ years. –No appointment needed! Just walk in. Call ahead if you’d like and ask about the wait time. –Good old fashioney barber chairs w/booster seats for little ones. Some parents opt to hold the kid, but we stood next to him while the barbe worked his magic and he did fine! –We paid $ 16 for a kids cut(comparable to Cookie Cutters) –They have quiet clippers and they do quick work! Charlie didn’t freak out at all! –Tanner(the barber in the first chair on the right) has an 11 month old –The other folks who were in there were really laid back and friendly and one customer even offered to take a family picture for us. Folks were friendly! I like that. :) …but the BEST part?! Charlie got an 8.5×11 certificate for his first haircut signed by Tanner the Barber which denotes that on the 30th day of January, 2015 Charlie graduated from babyhood when he received his first haircut. Adorable. :) They also offered to cut a lock of his hair for us to keep.(Which I suppose we’ll keep along with his belly button that fell off. When you’re a new parent and you’re told that«Some parents like to keep the ___» you may feel obligated to save things that otherwise would completely gross you out.) The one thing I’d tweak about the experience at Nora Barbershop is that there was a great deal of hair on the floor — but that may have been because we showed up and didn’t give the barber enough time to sweep his space. Other than that. Pretty darn great! We’ll be back!

I like this barber shop. It is like stepping back to the world of traditional barber shops. I didn’t know it existed until one day on a trip to a neighboring store, I saw it. I drove by and saw it opened 7am on Saturdays. I went there — 7:10 and was quickly greeted by Jeff. He sat me in his chair — and gave me a great cut. You walk in there and you just feel relaxed. There is good conversation to boot — the way it is suppose to be. Later that day, I took my 4 year old son there. We’ve been struggling with finding a place that can give him a good cut. No more — Jeff and his 20 years experience knew exactly how to cut his hair. Two good cuts in one day. We’ll be back! Price as of 12⁄2014 = $ 16/cut — Cash only

Best option for a traditional barber on the northside of Indy. Very reasonable rates for very good service. 7 – 8 barbers available and are great at what they do.

In a strip mall… Can’t be a good sign. However, I am very happy to say that I was wrong. I walked in and was greeted right away, treated like a friend and overall it was a fantastic experience. Old world barber shop feel, and a great hair cut to boot.

Prior to finding this barber shop, I was a long time user of the $ 7.99 haircut specials at the in-and-out chain places. I got tired of walking out with bad haircuts from people who seemed more worried about getting through 10 customers an hour than actually doing a good job. I even tried a few of the nicer chain places that charged more and were supposed to be better, but seemed I got the same quality from them. As a guy, I came to the conclusion that there isn’t really a place out there willing to take the time to give you a good haircut. Then I found the Nora Barber Shop. The place is tucked in between the Starbucks and Firestone in the Nora shopping plaza. It has a classic barber shop feel and setup with no frills or advertising for hair care products placed everywhere. There are probably 8 or so haircut chairs set up, and depending on the day of the week it will vary how many people are actually working. There are a couple of TVs to watch and plenty of magazines if you don’t have access to everything on a smart phone already. I usually get seated as soon as I walk in, or if there is a wait, it has been very short and there is plenty of seating if there are people ahead of you. I have gotten my hair cut by probably 4 different people so far, and all have been fantastic. They take the extra time to really make sure everything is perfect, and take care of all the minor details that I didn’t know people ever did. The haircuts take a little longer because of this, but that is fine with me. For instance, after each haircut they clean up around your hairline with a straight razor shave, which is a first for me. The people cutting hair are great, and love having a conversation with you when you are there. I think that they have a very loyal customer base with many frequent visitors because it seems that they know every person that walks in by name. Some things to note are that they don’t accept credit cards, so be sure to bring cash. It is $ 15 per cut as of this review being written. They also have different hours than some other places. I don’t remember them off of the top of my head, but I think that I remember them closing early during the week so you might want to check on that before coming in.

Old time barbershop at it’s best. Just about every barber there has cut our hair. They all are good. Hardly ever a wait.
