No. 7 Salon & Spa

I am so disappointed to write this review, after seeing the many positive experiences below.
I tired out the Salon because it was close to my new apartment. I booked an appointment for a $ 37 pedicure on the phone.
The salon was nice enough and the staff seemed friendly. At the end of my pedicure I was told I owed $ 47 because of the services I received in my pedicure. The woman had scrubbed my feet, but it was not unlike any other pedicure I’ve had. I didn’t realize I was getting a more expensive pedicure than what I requested and booked. The staff insisted I paid the $ 47 because I got «extra services» even though I didn’t ask for them.
I left the salon frustrated. I was guaranteed my polish would be 100% dry in 8.5 minutes. Still, I waited 30 before taking off my toe dividers. The nails smudged.
While the salon re-​did my damaged nails for free, I’m still not happy with the final product. The polish was clumpy and uneven. Two days later my nails are chipped and faded. I feel like I could have done this myself and not paid $ 47.
What bothers me most is that I feel like I was ripped off. I shouldn’t have had to pay more than I was told for a subpar pedicure.
I don’t recommend going here.

I have to say our over all experience at No.7 salon was very nice. I called the morning I needed the appt for my daughter for prom and they were able to get her in at 11 for hair and 12 for make up. When we got there they got us taken care of right away and got started on her hair. We finished with the hair and was waiting for makeup since we got done a few min early. The lady was working on a bride which indeed she went over on the time working with the bride and I was fine with that as I understand it was her special day too. However the only thing that did bother me and upset me a bit was that the bridesmaids were there too and all three ladies already had their makeup done and looked beautiful but after the bride was done the one bridesmaid decided she needed more like lashes and some other stuff, my problem with this is it was already 25 after 12pm which was 25 min into my time when she decides this and the makeup artist went ahead and did it for her which bothered me because one we were on a time limit too and secondly the bridesmaids should never out do the bride I feel the makeup artist should have explained to her I m sorry but I have other clients waiting who are on a time crunch as well and just give her a few tips to make her makeup the way she wanted it because they (the bridal party) was already running late and was receiving messages about why they weren’t there. Even with that happening I was very pleased with the hair and makeup and I will definitely recommend them as well I will always use them in the future. I am getting married soon. I just want to wear my hair down and curled, with maybe a little bit of the front section pinned back. Very simple. Since it is not a fancy or complicated style, I did not want or need a trial run beforehand. I told this to the bridal coordinator and was told, quote, «none of my technicians feel comfortable doing bridal hair without a trial run.»
So, to be clear: if I were not a bride, they could curl my hair and clip some of it back with no problem. But, only because I am a bride, I am required to pay for an unnecessary trial run — which actually costs MORE than the wedding-​day style itself!
Their concern is clearly not ensuring the customer’s satisfaction. I told them that I did not want a trial run and that I was voluntarily taking on any risk inherent with that decision. Instead, their concern seems to be getting the most money out of brides, just because they are brides.
Since this salon chooses to require a trial — one that is more expensive than the wedding-​day hair itself — they should reflect that accurately on their website and in their contract. That is, instead of falsely advertising that a customer can pay $ 67 in exchange for bridal hair, they should disclose that the customer must actually pay $ 137 to get bridal hair, and that this cost includes a trial.
I would advise future brides to be wary of this salon’s conditionally competent technicians, who claim to lose their ability to curl hair if they find out that the customer is a bride, even though they would willingly perform an identical style on someone else.
I contacted 4 other salons in the Indianapolis area and none of them gave me any such trouble. They are all more than willing to do my hair and makeup with no strings attached. Trials recommended but optional. (E.g. Cloud 9 Salon and Spa in Noblesville; Modé salon in Keystone). I would recommend going to one of those if you just want a simple style with no nonsense.

They do a really nice job on the shellac/​gel nail polish and I love that it’s near downtown, so I don’t have to schlep to the north side to get nails done. Dig the reuse of the building and glad it’s here! My nail artist, Kristy is very sweet and does a nice job. Finally feel like I found a place I want to go to on the regular.

I highly recommend Santina’s waxing services at No 7 Salon and Spa. I came to Indy 3 years ago and spend some time shopping around for a new Brazilian Waxer and I am delighted to have found Santina. She is absolutely lovely to me whenever I come and truly makes the process as painless as possible compared to other places and people I’ve been to. She is also infinitely talented at getting every last hair down there gone — if you want it all gone that is. She makes me comfortable every time I see her and is in tune with client needs — she will distract you will some lovely gab or leave you be if you have better distraction techniques — sometimes I’m just on my tablet the whole time as she makes her majic happen! Highly recommend — best Brazilian in Indy! :)

Recently moved to downtown Indianapolis and had to find a new salon. Andrew did my hair so well! I am so happy that I made another appointment on the spot.

My mom and I had the Caramel Apple Pedicure and Manicure with Krissy and we loved it! She did a great job of making us feel pampered. We loved the pedicure bench. There are 3 tubs and we could sit next to each other and talk while she worked on both of us. She started with our pedicures and had us soaking our feet. She removed my stubborn callous at the ball of my foot without any issues. I was impressed with how she smoothed out my heels. My toes turned out amazing and my mom loved hers. She chose Fine Vermilion (an orange shade) and I picked out Nordic Lights (a sparkly purple).
When it came to our manicures, I really appreciated the time and effort Krissy spent on my cuticles, which were really dry. I asked for a CND Shellac mani since I’d never had one before (but I’ve had gel in the past). I LOVE Shellac. It’s so much quicker and easier than a gel mani. I chose Asphalt for my base shade, then asked Krissy to create nail art with the additives. She used a blue to teal pigment and holographic sparkle pigment to create a gradient on top of the base color. My nails turned out amazing! The color is complex and beautiful. My mom asked for a more subtle orange for her mani in the Vinylux and Krissy suggested Salmon Run, which she loved.
We both loved the experience and will be back!

I recently visited this salon to have a simple polish change, where I supplied the polish color. $ 27 later, I had subpar nails that I had to add another coat to myself later that day. I was with a group of girls so I did not want to ask the receptionist if she had lost her mind for charging me $ 27, but I would definitely recommend another salon with a friendlier staff and more reasonable prices.

Today was my first visit here for a French bikini wax. Jennifer was AWESOME and so easy to chat with while she tortured me. ;) Seriously though, she was professional, friendly, and very thorough with the waxing. She took her time and I didn’t feel rushed at all like I have at other places who want you in and out as quickly as possible. I am definitely returning — in fact, I already made my next appointment with Jennifer as I was checking out!

After posting my initial review, Tabitha reached out to me about my experience. After discussing what had happened she said that she would make it up to me by refunding my gel removal and shellac manicure. Her follow up customer service definitely made up for initial experience. Thank you again for making me a believer that good customer service actually exists.

I recently had a mani-​pedi at No. 7. It was a great experience and I loved my nails! The salon is a little hard to find– I found the building ok but had a bit of trouble finding the salon– the door sign was a bit abstract. It was worth the effort tho!
The pedi stations are interesting– you sit up high on a bench with the tubs below. That means your feet are at a good working level for the nail tech, and you get a birds eye view of this upscale salon. My nail tech Krissy was great– very professional. The choice of polish colors was impressive. Krissy made my feet beautiful– and two weeks later they still are!
The manicure stations are more standard, and Krissy did a great job on my hands as well. She is friendly and really listens to what you want. I was very, very pleased with the great job she did.
I will definitely return any time I want my nails done!

I am traveling for work and needed to get my nails done last minute since I was traveling to a wedding the following day. I googled the closet salon to me and this one popped up and I thought «well here goes nothing.» I am typically very picky when it comes to my nails and salon and it always scares me to try new places, but this place far exceeded my expectations.
I called them very last minute (an hour and a half before closing) and they said they could get me in if I got there in the next 10 minutes. I agreed and hurried there to get there as soon as possible. The salon is super cute and carries the highest quality of products. The ladies were all very nice and did a fantastic job. They even squeezed me in for an eyebrow wax even though they were on a time crunch.
If I lived here I would definitely make this my salon for everything! Very impressed and will definitely be back if I am ever in Indianapolis again:)

After my usual eyebrow girl cancelled my standing monthly appointment, I went into panic mode and was on the hunt for a new trustworthy salon. (I won’t let just anyone touch my eyebrows.)
As any good Unilocaler would do, I checked reviews on my trusted site and settled on No. 7 Salon & Spa. My reasoning: good location a little bit east of downtown and good reviews.
I was at work, so I shot the salon a pleading note via email explaining my situation, and they were prompt in responding that they could get me in for a wax that evening. Yay!
I arrived and was instantly greeted by Jennifer. She was friendly throughout the wax. Wasn’t painful at all and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Pricing was downtown competitive.
I will definitely be back at some point due to the fact that No. 7 was so accommodating to my last minute appointment request and because I was pleased with the excellent service I was provided.
Definitely a hidden gem worth trying if you’re in need of salon services — and you can’t beat the abundant and free parking in the lot next to the building!

I love this salon. Downtown and convenient for lunch hair cuts or nails. Santina Curd is an awesome and her staff is professional. Alyssa is the best hairstylist .she’s great at cutting your hair and super funny.

This place has potential but very over priced for the quality. Just your typical salon with an extra $ 50 tagged on and not for the friendly service. Ashley is fresh out of beauty school and any of my friends could have done even better than her. If you go don’t go to her! Looked like I didn’t even get my hair done for a very expensive price tag. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I have been going to No. 7 Salon and Spa for almost a year now and have yet to be disappointed! I have had manicures and pedicures, color, haircuts, and waxing. The staff does great with brow arching! They use great color products and my hair have never been healthier. The entire staff is very friendly and strives to make their customers happy. I have tried other salons before this and none of them compare to No. 7.

I basically walked in on Saturday afternoon and had Karen S. cut/​style my hair she did an awesome job! I will be back :) I also like her bc she was not chatty and I was able to zone out and relax.

I have been going to the Number Seven Salon for years and they’ve always been wonderful. The location for me is perfect as it is right across from my workplace, but if that is not the case for you there is plenty of free parking and its location is just minutes away from everything downtown.
Lately I have been working with Alyssa and she is amazing. Not only is she knowledgable about product and hair texture, but she is extremely kind and great at her job.
The only other thing to add is how clean the salon is. It has always been spotless and welcoming. The selection of product is not great but that’s not of high importance to me.
So my recommendation is go! Ask for Alyssa, but there are many other stylists there and I have never been disappointed by any of them

This place is just wonderful.
I started going there after a huge dissapointment with studio 2000.
Quality of Mani+Pedi is outstanding — nail polis last for 1.5 weeks (no gel — regular polish).
Place is super clean, many parking slots available and everybody is very friendly and customer oriented.
Will go there again.

Not a bad salon. Pretty clean and looks relatively new. I went in for a trim, and it turned out pretty good. She spent a whole hour on my hair, straightened it, and used a lot of product (in a good way!).
My only suggestion is to make sure you mention any specials found on the website for new customers — don’t just assume you get it because you’re new. It was very clear that I was a first time customer (I told the lady when I booked the appointment that I’d never gone there before, and I also filled out a new customer form when I got there) but I didn’t blatantly ask for the price of $ 35 for the haricut, and they charged me $ 47. Same thing happened to my roommate. She told me that she mentioned it when she got the bill, and they wouldn’t give her the discount because she didn’t mention it on the phone.
