History
Established in 1896.
Lauck Funeral Home was established in 1896 by Anthony J. Lauck who was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The original funeral home was located on the east side of South Meridian Street where I-70 crosses. In the early 1910’s it moved to it’s present location at 1458 S. Meridian. After Anthony J. and many members of his family moved to California for health reasons, his son Anthony P. Lauck took over the family business. When Anthony P. retired his son Leo Lauck, Sr. took over the family business. When Leo, Sr. had his unfortunate accident his son (fourth generation) took over the family business. Leo Lauck, Jr. continues to assist at the funeral home today even though he retired in 2009. The new owner, Jeff Veldhof totally renovated the funeral home in 2009⁄2010 bringing back it’s historic beauty and charm. It continues to operate as a full service funeral & cremation provider with the principles established by the family long ago — Service, Compassion and Economy.
