It’s the same American focused cheap takeout Chinese food you are going to find anywhere. Their menu is the same as you see everywhere, with pictures of intricately plated dishes of the food that look nothing like what you actually receive. I’m sure the food comes in mostly prepared already only to get tossed in a deep fryer or wok later, and it is all most likely from the same supplier that distributes to pretty much every takeout Chinese place in town. It’s all up to the quality that you should expect, and has never been disappointing. The restaurant is easy to get to and is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. There are a handful of tables inside, but it’s not a place I would want to go sit down and eat since the inside is mostly full of people standing around waiting for orders on Sunday afternoon, and the phone is constantly ringing. The few times I have been here, I have called ahead for pick-up and gotten the pretty standard«15 minutes». It’s been close to that, but it seems like I am usually waiting longer than the estimate. The person at the front has always been nice and smiling when I have visited. They have some really cheap lunch specials on their menu, and if you order a whole bunch of food they have different price points where you start getting free stuff with your order. I know my friend gets takeout from here sometimes, but I can’t remember if the restaurant delivers or if it is through one of those second party delivery services. Overall, it’s just your run-of-the-mill strip mall takeout Chinese place that fits the standard profile that all of them seem to follow, aside from their sweet and sour sauce tasting a little off the one time I got it. Worth a visit if you like this stuff.

I don’t normally write bad reviews for companies but I was so shocked today that I feel it is needed. My fiancé and I ordered dinner from here today… and don’t get me wrong the food is good… but today they took rudeness to a new level. Upon arriving home we noticed one of our dishes was missing… no big… so we called to let them know so we could swing back by and get it. The funny thing is we were ok with that… I mean we both were food service managers so we know it happens. So, back to the call, the owner answers and proceeds to tell us we are lying and that she wrote one order down… Even though she had repeated it back correctly… at this point my fiancé starts to get upset and asks why she is arguing? She then said she didn’t charge us for two so what is our problem? We were willing to come back despite that and pay but the lady proceeded to be upset with this idea as well. I am shocked and highly disappointed with her complete disregard for a regular take out customer. I will never order from them again based on the fact that their owner is like this. It hurts me that a small business owner would chase away customers like this… we need small business in our communities. I will have to find a new Chinese take out place. :(. King Dragon you should never treat customers like this… it’s not hard to admit an accident and find a happy fix for both parties. Shame on you! I would like to add I am doubly sad as I love sesame balls and few places make them.

King Dragon is a good fast chinese takeout spot. It’s not my fav takeout(Sidewok), but it will do in a pinch. I recently had an order of hot sour soup(good) and beef and broccoli(not great) the beef and broc was over garliced and salty, and chewy but not in a good way. The service is fast and food is always at least decent, but not my fav.

Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve had in Indy. It is even better than the place in my hometown which is saying a lot!

King Dragon is my absolute FAVORITE«cheap Chinese» restaurant in Indy. If you’re looking for Americanized classics(fried stuff with sauces and noodles), this is where you want to go. I love the honey chicken, and I’m obsessed with their crab Rangoon. Excellent for sharing! Also, the staff is super friendly, and I believe the business is family owned. My roommate and I probably order takeout from King Dragon at least once every other week. It is our go-to food for nights when we don’t want to cook and also really want leftovers. You get a lot for your money, and everything reheats well! Not much of a dining space. I wouldn’t recommend it for eating on location. But you can’t go wrong with takeout! If you call and order ahead, it rarely takes longer than 15 – 20 minutes for them to have your food bagged and waiting to be claimed.

Really delicious Chinese food for an area lacking in good Asian options. I especially like their boneless spare ribs & cho mei fun. The combination plates are a great deal– the included egg roll& fried rice make it really worthwhile.

This is my go-to for Chinese in Broad Ripple! When I order from King Dragon, I trust that I’ll receive hot, heaping amounts of your standard Chinese fare. The combination plates are always a good bet, giving you a protein, fried rice, and egg roll that will last you at least two meals. The last time I did take out I ordered General Tso’s Bean Curd, the vegetarian version of everyone’s favorite, General Tso’s Chicken. The bean curd(tofu) were flavorful little pillows saturated in the General Tso sauce. YUM! Choose King Dragon the next time you do takeout!

Such good Chinese! The General Tso Chicken was my choice – for $ 5.50, the lunch special included a generous portion of chicken, laced with crispy chili peppers and a subtle Tso sauce, as well as an egg roll and delicious fried rice. The lunch portion was so large, I had leftovers! The staff does not speak English well, but it did not seem to matter… food is made fresh in front of you as you wait… quickly done, and soo yummy! Simple décor, with pretty Asian models on calendars, very clean tables. A real winner! A good value, friendly service, clean and delicious.

I went to King Dragon. I was having a bad start to a day and I decided I would reward myself with some unhealthy good gratuitous eats. I ordered three small entrees, the beef chow mein, sweet and sour pork, and yang chow/young zhou fried rice. I also got an order of the fried chicken wings with garlic sauce, and the egg drop wonton soup. I ordered the chicken wings because I was having a heinous craving for wings all week. I ordered the egg drop wonton soup because I’ve never seen a place have wontons in egg drop soup before, and I ordered the three other entrees for just cause, and also because those usually are pretty standard chinese items. Needless to say, for a bunch of small size orders and about $ 20 I had a good amount of food(a lot of rice). Pretty much lasted me 3 days and several meals. The food was A-OK, as Unilocal suggests, in my books, and was pretty standard for an Americanized Chinese food restaurant. The chicken wings were large, and I thought only 4 came in an order, but I think I got around 6 wings? I forgot to count, but it was definitely more than 4. I wouldn’t really suggest the sweet and sour pork, there was much more batter than pork and the sauce wasn’t the best. Besides, it was the type of sweet and sour order where it just comes with the fried pork and the sauce and no veggies. The beef chow mein was okay, I wish it came with the skinny deep fried noodles instead of plain rice. I mean, that’s what it means, chow mein, fried noodles, like chow fun, fried rice. My yang chow fried rice was also okay, kind of bland, but I was very glad it wasn’t a weird yellow color or a brown color(a result of too much soy sauce, or the use of dark soy sauce), because yang chow, like many other fried rice dishes are supposed to be white. I liked my egg drop soup, it had way more flavor than other egg drops that I’ve had which tend to be runny. The wontons in it were also okay, the meat in it was actually flavorful, the wonton wrapper itself was a bit thick, not like the typical thin/delicate wrapper you would expect. I probably will come back and try out some other items.

Very very good food! Front counter is always very polite. They have the best chicken and veggies dish. Very busy with takeout so prepare to wait a bit but it is worth it. Best in broad ripple! This is family owned I believe and they are always nice and polite. One of our favorites in broadripple!

I judge a Chinese restaurant by its hot and sour soup because it’s an item I order frequently. Most restaurants are inconsistent –sometimes good, sometimes tasteless and gelatinous. King Dragon’s hot and sour soup is always delicious, hot, and sour as it should be, and dense with mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and slivers of water chestnut. While their menu is typical Americanised Chinese fare, the entrees are well-prepared. The meats are good quality, the vegetables crisp and fresh, and the sauces savory without being overpowering. The staff is friendly and cheerful, and we feel like our business is genuinely appreciated.

I am definitely a regular. If they had stock options, I would be advised to invest. Its not that it is mind blowing deliciousness… But rather is always good, always fresh and always predictable. I have never had a bad experience. This is where I get my occasional take-out Chinese food fix!

This is our Chinese go-to take out place. We have tried a variety of their dishes and I can’t remember a bad one. I really like their black pepper chicken. However, their stand-out by far is the steamed meat dumplings. No, I do not know what kind of meat is in there, but these things are fabulous. Soft, thick dumpling dough encases a savory blend of meat and spices and green onion. Dunk it in their dumpling sauce, and it is extraordinary. I always make sure we get an order of these. My boyfriend also really likes their crab rangoons, but that’s not really my cup of tea, so he eats the whole order over a couple of days. Their egg drop soup is pretty solid, and their egg & spring rolls are tasty as well. The only thing I would say is that I would give yourself an extra 5 minutes from the quoted pick up time(we always carry out, but there is the option to eat in) as it is usually not ready the instant you get there.

This restaurant has decent food, but getting your order accurately taken and presented to you when dining in(and in any resemblance of a pleasant manner) is more of a chore than it is worth. The manager or owner, who was present to take our order, was not able to accurately translate my simple requests from their menu and turn it into the proper food order. I don’t normally have issues with language barriers, and I am very unhappy when someone cannot have a single person on staff that cannot assist me. The manager or owner did not take the order correctly, acted like my request for chopsticks was a chore for him(and he took back the fork he game me which had already passed the counter), and he would not take back the white steamed-rice that he gave us in error instead of an egg roll. I will not be revisiting this establishment.

No star for the place please! I wish there are more good Chinese restaurants nearby. We were craving for some Chinese food while we were out driving and landed in King Dragon, knowing that its one of those fast growing fast food restaurant, we didn’t expect much. I ordered house fried rice and asked to be sure if he can make fresh fried rice with steam rice, not the ones that has been soaked in soy sauce all day. He said it has pork, I said it is fine since house fried rice suppose to have all mixture of meat including shrimp and chicken. His wife(?) looked a t me and smiled(?) My husband ordered shrimp egg foo young, I also ordered four seasons. It took good 15 minutes for them to bring out fried rice first and egg foo young. The fried rice looked pretty brown along with roast pork but shrimp and chicken looked white and had no taste. I took it to the counter and asked young lady to see if it was made with steamed rice, she turned red and started yelling at me saying ‘you should have asked for that! We don’t make fresh fried rice unless you ask for it! I said ‘yes, I did ask for it. Can you make the fresh one as I asked?‘ This time the old man who took the order, came out screaming at me saying I never asked for it. I knew his English wasn’t great but screaming at the customer? I said I can’t eat it, he took it to the trash can and threw it away. Who does that? Like Joby N’s review, the owner is argumentative, like to argue about things with customers other than accommodate the customers. What is a can of coke cost? No apology? Cheap food, fast food-15 minutes of wait is not most likely-, bad service, bad food. We will never go back.

The steamed vegetable dumplings were mentioned several times in the reviews. I didn’t think that they were all that great. They did have a lot of fresh vegetables. I suppose I’m not a dumpling person :-) I have ordered several things here. I think that the General Tso’s is my friends’ favorite. Sweet and sour chicken is good, but they recently changed their sweet and sour sauce. It tastes«jammy.» I like the cashew chicken and order it frequently. The mei fun is great– it is skinny noodles with vegetables and pork, beef, or chicken. I do not like the chow fun. The noodles stuck together and made a giant noodle blob. I once ordered the Mongolian Beef and asked for it to not be spicy. It was good, but it had too many onions. They have specials where if you order a certain amount of food, you can get a free fried rice or crab rangoon. Overall, I keep going back to this place! I only wish they would deliver.

Boo! I wanted to like this place so much. They even had pad Thai on the menu. However, this place fell so flat for me. I ordered for pickup and they had it ready decently fast and it was hot still even after the drive home. I ordered pad Thai and veggie soup. I know it’s a Chinese restaurant and not a Thai one but common… They could at least tried a little. I’m pretty sure they just cooked up some noodles and put then in a a box with a lime. It tasted like there was absolutely no sauce or flavoring. There were some crushed up peanuts on it but they didn’t taste like peanuts. They were fluffy with no flavor. It was strange. As for the soup. It had no flavor at all. I liked how the veggies were big but I actually ended up not eating it as throwing it away. I’m sad I could not give this restaurant a better rating but hopefully I can come here again and get a different dish that will change my mind.

Pros: yummy food, decent prices Cons: long wait We called on a Sunday evening to order some carry-out. They told us 20 minutes. Most places tell you 10 – 15 minutes, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. We ran some errands and showed up 30 minutes later. Our food wasn’t done, along with several others who were waiting for their carry out. It must have been really busy, because from the time we placed our call to the time we got the food was probably 50 minutes. The food was pretty good, standard greasy Chinese. I think most people know to expect that at a place like this. We ordered veggie dumplings, kung pao chicken and beef with broccoli. Portions were generous. I was happy with the food, and would definitely order this same thing again. All in all, if you don’t mind waiting(I see a theme in the other reviews), this place has pretty decent Chinese food.
