History

Established in 2004.

The Indianapolis Dental Spa was founded by Dr. Amy Marckese-Braun to alter the attitudes of fearful patients by providing a unique experience focused on top quality dental care, exceptional customer service, personal touch and pampering. Our complimentary spa services are designed to help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable and be an extension of the high quality care we provide.

We are a family dentist, treating patients of all ages. Dr. Marckese-Braun offers a full range of services from general dentistry to cosmetic dentistry, as well as dental implants, TMJ therapy, and the treatment of gum disease. We strive to form strong relationships with our patients. We will to listen to your goals and concerns and develop a personalized treatment plan to help you get the smile you’ve always wanted.

Dr. Amy Marckese-Braun is passionate about dentistry. She goes out of her way to make patients feel relaxed and comfortable. Dr. Marckese-Braun has designed a Dental Spa that promises to be like no other dental office.

Dr. Marckese-Braun obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2000, after which, she practiced as an associate dentist for three and a half years. In November, 2004, she decided to follow her dream and open DentalSpa in Indianapolis, IN.

One of Dr. Marckese-Braun’s main goals is to alter the attitudes of fearful patients by giving them a unique dental experience focusing on quality dental care, customer service, personal touch, and pampering. In addition, she makes sure to spend one on one time with each and every patient to understand what YOUR dental concerns and desires are.

Stay far away from these quacks. I had three fillings put in here about three months ago; today, none of them are completely comfortable, one is still in pain in spite of being adjusted two additional times, and none of the corresponding teeth are as adequate at chewing food. All are teeth located near the back, and the dentists have removed structure from the middle, shaping them more for tearing and less for grinding than they should be.
During one of the adjustments, one quack started drilling into real tooth structure, without any numbing agent, instead of adjusting the filling, which made me pull away reflexively, and she dragged the drill — still running — across the side of my lip. As I was bleeding, she asked me if I thought the pain came from the straw of air she was holding to keep the area dry. (No, Idiot Quack, I find it just a bit more likely that the pain came from the metal object drilling into my body than from the gentle stream of air.)
And the multiple cherries on top of all this are the uncertainty in finances you will face. My wife and I both had a couple appointments each, and in every case, the dentists significantly overestimated the amount that our insurance would cover, which meant that a month or so after each appointment, we would receive an extra bill, payable immediately, on top of the higher prices we already paid to have our teeth «fixed» at this «spa.»

Can’t compare this to an actual spa visit — I ain’t exactly a spa kinda guy — but for a visit to the dentist it doesn’t get much better than this. The staff really makes you feel welcome and helps create a soothing environment for something that, frankly, isn’t usually a soothing experience.
Dental Spa might warrant a 5-star, but the idea of awarding a rare 5-star rating to a place where they jab around your mouth with sharp metal instruments just doesn’t feel right (even if it’s done in the least painful of ways).
I did notice the crazy expensive toothbrush mentioned in another review, but they never tried to up-sell me on it or anything else. Overall I din’t find it to be more expensive than any other dentist, but that might just be a case of one insurance vs another. Guess I’d recommend double checking your plan to make sure you don’t get hit with sticker shock, but if it looks good then definitely go see Dr. Marckese!

I tried to make an appointment as a new patient. They will only schedule new patients for a 1:30pm consultation. No exceptions. I tried to explain that will not work with my work schedule and could I have my new patient consultation a different time? I was told no. If you can’t make it at 1:30 call us again when you can make it at 1:30. Really?
