Description

Specialties

The Three Legged Dog Public House inspired by the best three-legged dog to roam the planet — James P. Sullivan. Sully always had a spring in his step, a twinkle in his eye, and was friendly to anyone he met. We strive to emulate Sully’s attitude in life, while serving you the best local ingredients along with a friendly small-town atmosphere. Minors allowed until 7PM.

Join us during the week for lunch, dinner, great cocktails, and craft beer. On Sundays we offer brunch from 8AM — 2PM, along with a Bloody Mary Bar!

History

Established in 2014.

The Three Legged Dog Public House is owned and operated by three partners, Josh Cronin, John Rodriguez, and Natascha Cronin. The partners have a combined three decades of experience in the restaurant and pub industry.

The Three Legged Dog is located in historic downtown Independence and is named after James P. Sullivan, Sully, the best three-legged dog to roam the earth. The Public House is located at 250 S. Main Street in what used to be the Farmers State Bank building. The building was constructed in 1925 for Farmers State Bank. During the depression the bank closed and the buidling became home to Calbreath’s grocery store until 1962. Since then it has been a jewlery store, an antique store, and now a Public House.

At the Three Legged Dog we strive to serve hand-crafted, locally sourced food, beer, wine, and spirits. You’ll find home-made sauces, hand-crafted bitters, and a wonderful small-town atmosphere. There is no TV at the Three Legged Dog, but we do have a dart board
