History
Established in 1996.
Originally a private home, the Davis Bourne Inn has evolved over the years beginning it’s public life as a meeting space and offices for Grayson County in the 80’s known as the Bourne House. The home was sold in 1996 to the Copenhaver’s who restored the home, adding the bathrooms to each room to create the Davis Bourne Bed and Breakfast. In 2001, the Independence B&B was sold to the Cole’s who added the Journey’s End Restaurant and renamed the property the Davis-Bourne Inn. The current owner purchased the Inn in December of 2005 and operates the Inn as a bed & breakfast, restaurant, wedding venue and local artists gallery. Currently in progress are updating 4 of the 5 guest rooms, each representing a season to give tribute to the décor of the four downstairs rooms when the Davis’ added the Victorian addition at the turn of the century and the paperwork is in progress to have the home listed on the National and State of Virginia Historic Registries.
