Specialties
Aerial Arborist Tree Service is a professional tree service I created using my decades of experience performing difficult and dangerous tree removals. Aerial Arborist Tree Service gives customers the opportunity to deal directly with the person doing the actual tree work.
History
Established in 2006.
In 2006 after many years climbing for established tree service companies I decided to start my own business so that I could establish superior safety procedures for myself and the people I work with.
Customer service was also very important for me and I had found both issues to be lacking in the companies I had worked for. Thus Aerial Arborist Tree Service was born. My mission statement is to provide quality, affordable tree service to select customers in the greater Pittsburgh area.
My specialty is difficult and dangerous trees, but we provide all phases of tree service. I would rather save a tree than take one down. As an Arborist I am an advocate for your trees and we can provide comprehensive tree health services for sick or damaged trees.
I use the state of the art ArborJet™ trunk injection system do deliver medicants directly into the tree’s transport system. We used tested formulations to take care of common ailments that trees can develop. See more information at my website.
Meet the Business Owner
Douglas M.
Business Owner
My name is Doug Metcalfe and I have been climbing trees for over 40 years. I’m married and have one grown daughter. I attended Castle Heights Military Academy and Kent State University. I’m a former Marine and active in veterans events.
Besides being a life long student of arboriculture, the science of caring for trees, I’m a commercially rated pilot and a federally rated master rigger, a skill that helps enormously in safely climbing trees, as well as doing tree removals that often require masterful roping down of tree sections that are over homes or entangled in power lines.
I’m a big fan of outdoor sports with over 2000 parachute jumps and I love whitewater canoeing and rafting. I’m a SCUBA diver with a lot of experience, including diving on wrecks, in caves, and under the ice.
When not climbing trees, my favorite activity is hiking with my wife through the woodlands around my home in Imperial, PA. I’m also an avid photographer and prefer to take shots at game with my Nikon.
