2.5 Meh. I’ve experienced better. I used the suggestion wording that Unilocal suggests but it is true. The quality of the food was okay. Just meh. If you want cheap Americanized Mexican food then come here… it’s a notch or two above Taco Bell in terms of ingredient quality but at least Taco bell has a drive through.

Yuck, yuck, yuck!!! This is one of the worst«Mexican» places I have ever tried. We ordered chips and salsa, can’t believe we had to pay for them, they were grease laden and broken. I tried one and couldn’t eat another. Now comes the best part! I ordered tacos. Tacos people! Two chicken tacos with onion and cilantro, rice and beans. The beans were horrible, the rice inedible, the chicken canned! I had also asked for soft corn shells. When the bill came, I thought it was a joke, $ 18.00 for just the taco dinner!!! WHAT??? It’s tacos! Save yourself and go down the street to the Mexican bakery.

I love the food here. They have a steak wet burrito supreme that is out of this world. The food is always good but it takes forever. My sister and I ordered the wet burrito dinner to share and it took over an hour to get our food. This is not acceptable, this has been the norm the last few times I have been here, not sure when I will be back.

My family and I have been going to this place for over 20 years(when it was about 1⁄3 the size!). I have yet to find another Mexican restaurant in the state of Michigan to compare to Nacho’s. When my brother and wife come in from New York City, Nacho’s is always a stop. He has yet to find anything nearly as good. Pros: Great staff, large restaurant, freshly made chips and salsa – none of those terrible/thin reheated-from-a-bag chips, best steak gravy – not overly spiced, and fresh ingredients. Cons: they don’t serve alcohol. Way to solve this problem? Do take out and make your own drink at home. What to order: chips, salsa(mild and hot), and the Wet Burrito Supreme. Others complained about paying for chips and salsa… these aren’t the garbage chips from a bag that are under a heat lamp like at other places. Freshly made. You pay for quality.

Used to love this place. Prices are high, portions are smaller, quality is down. Was one of my favorite places to eat, now I can stand the thought of going there. Staff is rude, refries beans are microwaved.

This place was absolutely terrible. The homemade chips were way over cooked, as were the taco shells. The salsa wasn’t bad but it’s nothing special. The rice was dry and the retried beans were obviously from a can. Honestly the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I should have ate at Taco Bell, it would have been better and cheaper, and I wouldn’t have this heartburn and funny feeling in my stomach. On a positive note, the iced tea was good…

Worst Mexican food I have ever had, my next time in Imlay City and want Mexican I will head for the border… Taco Bell. Waitress was also sub par, but that is in line with the meal I was served

As my wife said it perfectly, this place is like a Mexican big boy. The food is very mediocre. The staff is decent. The prices are ridiculous. Mexican food is cheap. I ordered an entrée but didn’t get any sides. Those are extra. Even the chips and salsa are extra! Never going back

The restaurant was nicely decorated and the staff was really nice. It also has a good location. The food was not good. The«steak» in the wet burritos was cooked early that morning and the burritos were served at 8 pm. I asked the server if it was canned meat she said no. I asked how it was cooked. She said she didn’t know. She said the«cook» wasn’t there. I asked who«cooked» my food. She said the line cook because the real cook makes all the food in the morning. My bill for 3 adults and two kids meals was $ 58. No alcohol. This place charged me for good legit food. It was all precooked or from a can. The only thing«cooked» there was the rice. I would recommend not going there. It is way too much money for food that I wouldn’t serve in a Navy mess hall. I give it 2 stars because the building was clean and the staff was very nice in spite of the bad food.

Not the greatest. There was no listed menu online so I had to guess what type of food to order for Carryout. When I arrived I asked for a menu, and the worker handed me one-but the menu wasn’t updated with the new prices. I found it a little shady how the woman had to use a calculator to collect the total. Also, I paid a little over $ 6 for a side of guacamole. Talk about rip off! I live in Rochester and I pay much less for good authentic Mexican food and this place was definitely not up to par.

Food is okay. A lot of beans. Same ingredients mashed together in different ways. I would have to agree with a lot of other reviews– restaurants are often based off appearance: appearance of food, facility, and servers. The restaurant could use some updating to lessen the dingy look. There is nothing appealing about hearing cooks arguing in the kitchen while sitting in a booth wondering where your food is, meanwhile watching your server skirt by you avoiding eye contact. Name tags would be nice so you could atleast flag the server down. Prices have gone up quite a bit– and regularly. This is understandable as price of food has gone up but with that it is not reasonable for skimpy portions.

Best Mexican food! I’ve been going here for 20 years, back when it was only a half of dozen tables. They’ve expanded since but the food is still great. Chips and salsa are homemade and fresh and excellent. I usually get the wet burrito which has steak and cheese inside and out, total food coma after that meal! Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for Mexican and in the area. They also take credit cards but there’s a ten dollar minimum.

My best friend has loved this place for like 20 years because of their chips and salsa. I remember trying it a few times back in high school and not being overly impressed… but I wasn’t the salsa fan then I am today. So here’s the run down: Pros: Super fresh tortilla chips The hot salsa Wet burrito(only thing I tried) Clean Nice staff Cons: You pay for chips and salsa Mild salsa(bland city… 95% tomato. But mix it with the hot and it’s a good time) Prices(with tip for my small chips and salsa, and the non-supreme burrito… just came with burrito, no rice or beans or anything, it was $ 12). Not quite ridiculous, but it was just lunch… I’m used to Mexican Village in Detroit where the wife and I can go, have a couple drinks, appetizers, and complete entrees for about $ 30. Service was a little slow for what should have been a quick lunch. Overall it’s solid. I won’t make the trip to Imlay City for it like i would for say Mule foot Gastropub… but if I was in the neighborhood, I’d come back.

Nacho’s is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. I’ve been going there since I was a kid. Everything on the menu is delicious, but some personal favorites are the wet burrito supreme, the super enchilada, and of course chips/salsa/bean dip.

Nacho’s is by far my favorite Mexican place ever! Their chips are amazing and unlike anything from anywhere else! I love the salsa too, but if you like salsa with a TON of different spices and whatnot, you might not like it. The mini pizza, tostada, huevos rancheros, and grilled cheese are all amazing! I don’t care for the wet burrito, but my dad and brother order it religiously, so it depends on your taste I guess.

We were told that this place has the best Mexican in town so of course we had to check it out! First impression is that the restaurant looked kinda dirty and run down but one bite of that hot salsa and I didn’t care! The chips are homemade, crisp and delicious! The mild salsa is too bland for me as I love hot food! But dang, that hot salsa is a killer! Couldn’t put it down though. I wish there was a more diverse menu. I didn’t really know what to get so I got the combination plate — taco, tostada, and burrito. All dinners come with rice and beans. My fiancé got the super enchilada and though my food was good, I was jealous that I didn’t get that! They use chili filling and smother it on the outside and omg, it was like heaven in my mouth. The portions are huge and we had enough for a midnight snack. I cannot wait to try something else!

I recently tried their tostadas with ground beef. Gotta say, they were better than what I used to order. The chips and salsa not being free is still a downside though. Still nothing really authentic on the menu, and it’s all very Americanized, but the food is delicious. Just don’t expect the most authentic food ever.

The hot salsa is absolutely the BESTINTHESTATE. The chips are home made and are super. Note that they charge for chips and salsa here, but what you are getting is the real deal, and you will never find more flavorful. The hot salsa has flavors of peppers, fresh cilantro and lime juice. It is made fresh and always is a little different from day to day.(I am talking about the hot salsa, as I am not taken with the mild variety). Some people blend the hot and mild salsas to their liking. The food here is always very fresh and flavorful. Lovers of the bland«authentic» style of Mexican food should continue on to find another place. The soft shell steak tacos are my personal favorite. Big chucks of beef and flavorful gravy. The wet burrito is also steak filled and is very big. This restaurant does not serve alcoholic drinks. This restaurant is family run. I have been coming here for years. Great waitresses too. The only complaint is that you need to ask for extra napkins. A napkin holder on the table would be a great help with salsa spills and drips. Hot salsa people, try this place!

I love Nacho’s and have since I was a teenager. By the Capac/Imlay area you will not get better mexican food unless you are a guest at someone’s house. I’ve eaten in here and ordered take out many times and I have never once been dissapointed by the food or service. Their menu is simple, but everything is fresh and delicious. I’m a simple kindof girl, so I would say my go-to choices are either a taco combo or the chicken fajita. Don’t forget the chips and bean dip either! Top that off with some salsa verde and you will have quite the fiesta at your fork’s end.
