The MacKenzie River menu features an incredible array of delectable dishes, always flavorful and fresh, and served up in heaping portions. The acclaimed gourmet pizzas are offered on a variety of crusts — sourdough, natural grain and thin — with toppings from classic pepperoni to pesto, ricotta, and sun-​dried tomato. With nearly two dozen pizzas on the menu, you are bound to find at least one you’ll love. MRP also offer hearty sandwiches served warm on fresh-​baked bread, full and half-​sized salads anpastas that will wow your taste buds. Be sure to save room for the Mack Lovin dessert, gooey chocolate chip cookies topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce; it’s great for sharing. To complement the menu choices, select from a variety of craft beers and fine wines.

History

Established in 2014.

The first MacKenzie River opened in downtown Bozeman, Montana in 1993. Initially unfamiliar with truly gourmet pizza, Montanans were hesitant of toppings like toasted pine nuts and mandarin oranges.

Soon though, our customers craved the entire MacKenzie River experience – including our distinctive flavors, unique atmosphere and unparalleled customer service. Today, MacKenzie River Pizza serves up creative, high-​quality food and has developed a notable menu that offers choices far beyond just pizza. I love MacKenzie River! I’m from Montana and have been going to MacKenzie River Pizza for years so i was super excited when they opened this one in Idaho Falls. The Lodgepoles are an absolute must have every time we go there. We like to go on Sundays for $ 5 Absolut bloody mary’s. Last time we were there my husband had the Reuben pizza and it was excellent! My favorite is the Sequoia with sundried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. We definitely recommend this place!

I had been to this place a few times when they first opened and it was great. I went yesterday for my birthday and was very disappointed. My prospector burger was bland and supposedly had bacon cooked into the pattie but there was none, I had to request a couple pieces of bacon to put on my dry burger. It was obvious that my burger had been sitting for a few minutes when I got it.
Two in our party had the Italian chicken sandwich and it was very very dry. Those in our group who had pizza were pretty happy.
The service was slow and not very attentive. Many of us ran out of drinks waiting on our waitress. I was very disappointed.

The food is delicious, that’s a fact! The food took longer than they said, the music doesn’t fit the décor, which doesn’t fit the menu. Our waitress seemed put off that we wanted a burnt pizza recoiled. All other servers and workers were very friendly. The food was great though, especially the Buffalo Mac and Cheese. Best of all, I got a free Mack Lovin (Cookie w/​ice cream) for checking in on Unilocal

This place has great food but their service sucks! It’s actually a little comical how unorganized the staff is and management clearly has no idea how bad the service is because it’s consistently poor service. I’ve been here pretty regularly and every time the service is slow and poor.

Great pizza with a nice setting. In nice weather the the patio is pleasant with a distant view of the river. The service is usually great. Today especially Penny was great. The thin crust rancher pizza is delicious. The lodge pole appetizer is to die for. But the Mack Lovin dessert is heaven in a skillet, skillet chocolate chip cookie and ice cream. Best cookie dough ever. I keep thinking, if it just had nuts. I might bring my own next time.

I am just done with this place. Yes, I love their food WHEN you can get it. Tonight was the second time I got fed up and walked out. 40 minutes into waiting for our food we get informed they are out of sausage so Can’t make our pizzas. But do they bring a menu to look at? No!!! Do you think we are wunderkinds and can remember everything on the menu? If this were the first time maybe I could forgive. But for God’s sakes look at your reviews! Are you purposefully wanting to continue to piss people off with your continued BAD SERVICE? MANAGEMENT needs a wake-​up call. Hopefully someone from corporate will read this because you don’t see this type of service in their other locations.

I had heard that this place was amazing but was highly disappointed in all of it. The service is slow to say the least. The prices were on the higher side. My boyfriend and I shared a bowl of pasta and it was just noodles and bunch of Frank’s red hot sauce mixed together was not worth the over hour wait.

We have had great experiences every time we go! It is a very nice atmosphere. The food is great! The portions were quite large and the prices are competitive to other restaurants.
The pulled pork nachos are huge and delicious! The burgers are better than most restaurants I have been to. They have a pizza called «Thai Pie» which is an Indian food twist on pizza. We were shocked how good it was! I would say MacKenzie River is the best restaurant in Idaho Falls!

I’ve been here a couple of times. The food is very diverse and very good, the atmosphere’s fun. Some great salad and sandwich selections, and lots of other menu choices too. The only downsides are the prices (on the expensive side) and the wait. It always takes a long time to get food, although the service is otherwise good.
I recommend this place if you have time.

So the appetizer was good but it took 45 minutes to get. Good thing that we got a bottle of wine to keep us entertained. After 1 ½ hours we still didn’t have our main course.
I would like to see better service but I am not holding my breath.

Great beer selection. I love their thin crust. My favorite pizza is tomato basil and add Italian sausage. Yum. My only complaint I have had great service here and other times its been a little lacking. Sit in the bar.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Idaho Falls. I prefer to sit in the bar, it seems cozier and quieter. For apps, the Lodgepoles (cheesy breadsticks) and the Rolino (sort of like a calzone but lighter) are great to start with. The salads are great, I like the Greek Salad the most, followed closely by the Chopped Salad. The Buffalo Mac N Cheese is MMM MMM MMM good. Not too spicy but definitely has kick. Athenian pizza or Stockman are fantastic pizza options. And of course, we can’t forget the Mack Lovin’ dessert. A hot chocolate chip cookie cooked in a sizzling cast iron, topped with vanilla ice cream.

Good food and setting! I got the Cajun pasta which was good until I saw what my pasta was swimming in. I propped a butter knife under my plate and at least 5 Tablespoons of grease settled on one side of the plate. Like I said, good food, but that comes with a price of clogged arteries.

Meh, the food wasn’t anything to write home about, but enough to write on Unilocal about.
We started with the nachos topped with pulled pork. The nachos were HUGE, but very bland. Not a lot of cheese, almost more pickled jalapenos than cheese.
I ordered the burger with bacon and pulled pork. As soon as they didn’t ask me how I wanted my burger cooked, I knew it wasn’t going to be a good experience. The burger was overcooked and lacked any flavor. The bacon was good and thick but the pulled pork was almost as dry as the hamburger patty.
Our waitress was great, she made sure to check in on us and kept our waters full. The restaurant wasn’t very full for a Saturday evening which may be indicative of how locals feel about the food here as well. I noticed bufallo wild wings was full as we were leaving.
If you are looking for a sports bar stick to buffalo wild wings, if you want pizza go to Lucy’s, if you want a burger go to stockmans. If you want bland food come here.
