History
Established in 1996.
We opened our doors in 1996. The home is the second oldest house in town (Pleasant Valley). It was a private residence throughout most of it’s history although it did spend some time as a room house in the 1950’s. It was a 125 acre dairy farm until the late 1940’s. Now it sits on one acre with a nice sized garden and small fruit orchard.
Meet the Business Owner
Lee F.
Business Owner
Your hosts are Lisa and Lee Fraitag. Lisa is a professional French horn player and music teacher. She performs with the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra and the Greater Newburgh Symphony. Lee worked for many years at IBM before retiring. He then attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Upon graduation in 1995, Lisa and Lee bought the home on Travis Road which was the Travis family dairy Farm for most of the 20th century. We were lucky as the house didn’t have plumbing, electricity, or central heat until the 1960’s. When we purchased the house in 1995 it had been updated and we have continued to take care of this simple but wonderful old home. We began welcoming guests to the Willows Bed & Breakfast in June of 1996 and have had a blast doing so since.
