History

Established in 1999.

We started Poney’s Custom Laminate Surfaces after my husband seen many ownership changes at the company he was working for. In January of 1999 we decided we were going to start our own laminate countertop business. With John having 21 years of experience we ventured on our own. We started in a 32×32 garage. In 2 short years we needed a larger building as we began growing. In 2001 we moved to our current location in the old Hyde Park Elementary Building where we continue to operate today.

I am John Poney, owner & partner of Poney’s Custom Laminate Surfaces. I started making countertops for a company in 1977 while in high school. I graduted Kiski Area High School in 1979. I continued working for the same company for 21 years until making the decision to start making countertops for myself in 1999. I currently are operating my own business along with my wife & partner Linda L. Poney.
