The steak tips are great. Steak tip salad even better(9 out of 10). I’d give it a 10 if the salads had just a few more tips. Food is always great. Specials create nice variety. All in all, good pub food.

Interesting spot which might not be everyone’s cup of tea. To love Cappy’s you have to be a lover of bars, taverns or pubs that have their own unique vibe. Cappy’s is indeed unique. 1. Breakfast all day A+ 2. Parking is easy A+ 3. Service is quick and efficient A+ 4. The interior is” lived in” but comfortable. No pretensions here. A 5. No cheap pours here; the are generous with their drinks A+ 6. The food is good solid pub fare. A I suspect if you are here often you better have a thick skin since the locals are highly vocal at Cappy’s. Cash only folks.

Cappy’s is the definition of a great dive. The staff are friendly, the drinks are strong and CHEAP. I totally understand where all the great reviews come from. And the best part… it’s walking distance from my apartment.

Get here for Fish on Fridays. Some of the best seafood I have had in Boston at a reasonable price. Any other day of the week Cappy’s has good food. Try the steak tips. Trivia on Thursday is always fun.

Excellent lobster roll… can’t beat the price anywhere! Last night I tried the lobster roll that was recently added to the summer menu. Served on a not so traditional bulky roll, definitely better than a tiny hot dog roll. Piled high with heaping chunks of lobster claws mixed with knuckles, tossed in mayonnaise on a bed of crisp lettuce. Lets not forget Cappy’s famous fries and an order of cole slaw, all for $ 12.99. I luv lobster rolls in the summer… you can get one of the best here at Cappy’s. See photo…

Great local bar! We go most Thursdays for Whadayahknow Trivia. The bartenders are great, prices are low and Ray is the man! There’s also live music sometimes and great food! Cappy’s is cash only, but there is an ATM on site.

I love me a good local bar. A friend was the entertainment for the night, so our group of twenty-somethings took over what is an unmistakably a townie pub. We ordered CHEAP beers(they have a GREAT selection – and pour a damn good Guinness), a selection of fried apps(I don’t know what kind of crack they put in their potato skins, but it kept me coming back for more) and had oursevles a good ol’ time. I think the locals got a kick out of us – we danced and drank liberally and made friends with everyone in the place. It’s got its quirks – the entire place pays homage to Boston College hockey, and there are elaborate instructions for flushing the toilets, but quirky is good. I’m looking forward to our friend’s next performance, if only for the pototo skins. P. S. Heads up – CASHONLY!

Cappy’s is definitely a local bar. The first time you visit you may not be impressed by the service — but trust me it gets a whole lots better if you come again. They make a great burger for a nice price. They serve breakfast all day and have half priced pizzas on some nights — including Thursday night which is trivia night. Starts at 8 — get there early to get a spot. Pitchers of beer are cheap and popcorn is free. Fish and Chips on Friday are tasty too. A Must visit if you like low-key neighborhood bars.
