What a hassle to pick up online orders! I was sent to 3 different registers before finding the one location where you can pick up an order. The last time I used that service was a year ago, and back then you could pick up your order at any register! When I finally found the correct register, it was deserted. Had to go hunting for a sales associate, though to her credit she was busy stocking a bedding display. She was also quite cheerful even though it was very cold in the store, as I saw multiple employees wearing coats and gloves indoors. Worst of all, I hated the items I was picking up since JCP did not mention in the online description that the placemats were reversible and had 2 patterns. The quality was bad anyway with terrible stitching. No more bargain shopping for me!

I live in Hyattsville, so this JCP is very convenient for me. Selection is good, and friendly associates. I always find something I like here(Shoes, Clothing, Accessories, even the Hair Salon). Most problem I have is Hispanic Customers allowing their unattended children crying, playing in clothes rack and running all over store(not JCP’s fault) Overall store is a good fit for me!

This Hyattsville JCP used to have wonderful selections for every department, especially the men’s, kids/tweens, and handbag dept. The choices were endless and the prices were always excellent even without coupons. The gravy train stopped a few years ago when they turned everything JCP was all about into something they think will give them more sales, but I doubt will. The new JCP has very limited selections, less customer service, less quality products and is more trendy and MORE expensive. I want to go there to purchase department store quality undies for my child not designer undies, nor t-shirts for $ 30. Another big no-no includes children’s clothing is shabbily made and cut small, lack of check outs, personnel and there is never any decent circulating air. Every store I have been in is stifling hot and humid summer or winter. I do not get it. Many of the cashiers are moronic/apathetic and do not know about customer service. I am just so sad that the good shopping experience I would always look forward to is gone.

This located is pretty conveniently located inside the PG Plaza Mall which you can reach by driving right off East-West highway, or taking the green line to the PG Plaza stop. I’ll skip the rest of the store and get right to the mens section. I wasn’t exactly disappointed, but I wasn’t impressed either. I didn’t really see any employees around except the one at the register. I may have been fine with this if I had been able to find what I needed, but the suits/sportscoat section isn’t exactly organized. Take the J Ferrar section. Classic fit, slim fit, modern fit, super slim fit, all mixed together on each of 4 racks. Same could be said for the Stafford section. As for shirts and ties, those were more organized, not perfect, but better. The prices of course are always great as it is JC Penney. The store was clean, especially the restrooms and fitting rooms, just not organized. I ultimately ended up writing down the styles I like, and tried on one pair of pants that fit but I couldn’t find the matching jacket. Then I went home and ordered all $ 276 worth of things I needed online. More than likely, I’ll just end up shopping from the website from now on. In some cases I may ship to store so I can try on before leaving, but browsing the racks here probably is a waste.

I work near this location. I hate PG mall, but went in here for a friend. I love this store because it has a pretty darn good Sephora in it, with helpful sales people. I totally wasn’t expecting to come across this. It was fully stocked with goodies, too. A nice surprise in a dismal and just plain crappy mall. Good job ‘Penny’s!
