Business Owner
Jeannette developed a love of clothing early on. Her mother Cornelia, immigrated from Holland. She also had a love of clothing and displayed this by sewing her own dresses along with dresses for Jeannette. When Barbie doll became a fashion icon doll, Cornelia would not buy the Barbie doll clothes, rather she gave her left over fabric to make her own barbie clothes. At the age of 8, Jeannette learned how to use a Singer treadle machine and began her sojourn into dressmaking, first for her Barbie doll and then morphed into clothing for herself. This led to 3 years of sewing classes at age 14, sewing for friends, and finally sewing professionally. Alterations in clothing becoming a specialty as the years went by. Besides everyday clothing, bridal and formal wear became a real specialty. Its a great feeling when someone has an ill fitting garment that they love and you can turn it into a perfectly fit garment that they absolutely love!
