I have been using Neil’s for boat repairs for about a year now. Started with the big trolling motor on the bow and then the outboard. Last week, the jack plate quit and it was a dead actuator, a $ 500 part. Neil thought it would take 2 hours to replace. Neil started yesterday afternoon and called me around 9 pm to say that he had fought it for 3 hours and it just wasn’t coming apart. My next option was to buy a totally new jack plate, a $ 1000 part! Neil knew that we had a 3 day fishing trip in Port Mansfield starting Sunday morning and I had resigned myself to having to fish the deep channels and jetties and skip the flats even though our boat will run in less than a foot of water when it has a working jack plate. When I got there this morning to pick it up at 10AM, he was hard at work and told me that he had stayed up until 3AM to fix it and finally had to cut the old one out with a torch! I defy you to find anyone else that would have stayed with it like that! His original labor estimate was 2.5 hours and he only charged me 3 hours! He is a great mechanic, fuel or electric but more importantly he is a man of his word. God Bless Neil and his family! Paul Brick South Austin
