Vie a Paris

After reading all of the reviews I was a little skeptical about visiting this bakery. After walking in I was very impressed. They had a WIDE variety of pastries. I got the strawberry cake and everyone loved it. I will definitely be returning.

I put an order 5 days ahead. They tell me if they don’t have strawberries they’d use fruit cocktail, I tell them I don’t want it. We come to a compromise to use oranges, I show up and they still used fruit cocktail ignoring that I wanted oranges. They do nothing to fix the situation, terrible customer service. Be careful with your order.

I’ve been coming to this bakery ever since I moved to Fort Worth…17 years ago! I won’t lie, it hasn’t always been perfect, but the hits surpass the misses. I’m excited they have French macarons now. They’re a bit on the smaller size but not bad for $ 1.75 a pop. Strawberry shortcake is an all-​time family favorite. Mini cakes in various flavors are great if you want to taste before committing to a full cake. The fruit filled croissants hold a special place in my heart that brings me back to childhood memories in CA. As far as service, the staff is ok but the owner is always sweet and friendly. Love this place!

Was not impressed… it was basically a donut shop. The desserts were very good looking but you could tell they were old and crusty. Like, they have microwaves in plain view-​how appetizing! They need to come down on their prices, she made me buy a dessert instead of sharing and charged us for a glass of water?

I usually don’t write negative reviews but I felt like I needed to. I needed a 3-​tier cake for my moms 70^th birthday party but The bakery I usually order from was closed that week. Their price for a 3-​tier cake is reasonable compared to other places and they offer pandan flavor which I was excited to try. I picked up the cake that morning and wasn’t given specific care instructions, just how to cut. When the cake was brought out it was already sweating. I picked up the cake at 9 and the party was at 5. When I brought it home, I put it right in the fridge. I had noticed a crack on the bottom layer (cake is made up of buttercream, not fondant). I didn’t make a big deal about it. When I took the cake out a couple hrs before the party, I noticed the crack for bigger and the top layer was beginning to tilt. As the party went on, there were noticeable gaps between the 2^nd and 3^rd layer. I’m sure they have made beautiful cakes in the past but I’m not sure what was different about mine.

Amazing cakes & service! I just picked up an Italian Cream fruit cake, & everything about it is perfect! The moist texture, the sweet strawberry glaze on top, almonds on the sides. mmm! Deelish! The lady helping me with my cake was very nice and she was showing me the cakes they can do and i plan to try some. I’ve been getting cakes here for awhile now & i gotta say they never disappoint!

The first time I had their cakes was when my best friend brought it to an event when I was in college … way back when. That very moment was when I fell in love with their fruit cakes. Since then I have had their cakes at my graduation, baby showers I have hosted, bridal shower and whenever else I was in the area to get my hands on the yummy goodness!
The thing I love so much about their fruit cakes here is that they are light. The cake is perfect. The icing is more like a whipped topping and not too sweet. Then there is a ton of fruit all perfectly positioned on top … fruit of all kinds and they are beautiful!
You can special order a cake to fit your needs if you wish or you can walk in and purchase an already made one. They have a ton of other things besides cakes too!
I honestly can not talk highly enough about the fruit cakes here … Get one! Eat it all! Share it with your people!

Love their pâté choud. I’m not sure if I spelled that right. Tried the sausage roll and ham and cheese roll. They were ok.
The cream cheese Danish had a hint of citrus (orange) in it. Which is weird. Doesn’t bother me. But my husband who doesn’t like citrus flavor pinpointed it immediately and did not want the rest of the Danish. The macarons were okay. Not a lot of flavors to pick from.
We ordered a birthday strawberry shortcake here. It was very good and generally I don’t like Asian type of desserts, this one was okay. Very moist, tasty, lightly sweetened icing. I would not order this for myself, but if you know someone who likes this type of cakes, then try this place.
The service was nice. One Vietnamese lady in particular is very nice. I came in the day before to put in an order for the birthday cake for the next day. It’s nice that they only need 24hrs notice.

Went there today because I was craving something sweet to eat and had never been there before so I asked the lady what was popular. She proceeded to ask me if I liked whipped cream or buttercream. So finally my husband and I decided on what to get. I had to use their restroom and when we left the bakery, my husband told me that they were talking trash and said, «Why does she need to ask what is good and what is popular?» Little did they know that he understood their language. Excuse me but you should be willing to help your customers out. If we were still in there I would have flat out said something about her rudeness! P. S. The baked goods we bought were not even good and the cookies were very dry. We will not be returning to this bakery.

I was really skeptical of this place… A French bakery in a weird shopping center in Hurst? K… I bought some little raspberry cakes for a party. They were light and fluffy with a subtle lemon flavor, and were decorated with almond slivers and fresh raspberries. Surprisingly good but pricey. No idea if it’s really French-​style but it tasted good.

This bakery is the best. She designed out wedding cake just exactly how we wanted it. The price was reasonable and best of all everyone at the wedding said it was delicious. She didn’t use anything in the cake to make it taste greasy and also because alcohol is against our religion she made the cake without rum per our request.

For the many years I have lived in Fort Worth, I have been coming to Vie a Paris to get their DELICIOUS, INFAMOUS, BEST of THE BEST fruit cake and strawberry short cake. I actually got the fruit cake yesterday for $ 25.99 :) I came in around 5:30PM & they close at 6… so luckily they had ONE fruit cake left #happylilian
When you go inside, there’s nothing special. a few tables and chairs, free WIFI, a coffee making area in the corner, a rotating fridge with pre-​made cakes, two counters with croissants, sandwiches, and mini desserts. The one thing that kind of surprised me were the macarons… they were very small priced at $ 1.75! crazyyy.
In my experience with cakes, no place can compare to Vie a Paris. It tastes better, looks better, the texture of the cake is sooo moist, and it’s not overbearingly sweet either. Also the fruits on every dessert taste FRESH. I promise you, you will not be disappointed!

Disappointed!!! My husband surprised me with my birthday cake from here. It looked amazing and I couldn’t wait to have some! To our surprise it was nothing like the reviews on here. The strawberry shortcake was awful. The cake texture was the worst I’ve ever had. It fell apart in our mouths and has no flavor. So sad this had to be my birthday cake. My husband feels like he let me down but instead this bakery did. Don’t go here. Pretty sure a cake from Kroger would’ve been 100 times better.

Well it all started with less than perfect customer service. We waited at the counter while workers passed by in the back looking up at us occasionally. Finally one came out to help. She was friendly enough. We ordered some croissants and cookies. When we were in the car driving away we noticed a big black hair on the bottom of the croissant! Needless to say we didn’t have an appetite after that. I did eat a cookie later and it was good. I won’t go back. And I’m afraid I couldn’t recommend it.

Vie a Paris is a French Bakery in Hurst that specializes in desserts, petite fours, custom cakes, and some French style croissant sandwiches.
My Overall Rating — 4 ½ Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return)
Atmosphere — Located in a small strip mall Vie a Paris has the huge sign that says French Bakery outside. There’s some outdoor seating and free Wi-​Fi. Inside is pretty plain. You’ll find a counter for savory items, one for sweets (the one you want), and a fridge with full cakes ready for pick up. There’s not much else here, and dessert places like Thierry in Vancouver & even Emporium Pies in Bishop Arts prove you can have great charm to sweets. ½ Star.
Service — You can place orders in advanced for custom cakes, or big orders of small desserts. Either way the staff is very friendly. They will walk you through the entire customization process, from cake type, size, lettering, etc. It’s not a custom cake place where you can create a cake shaped like a TV, etc. But you can do some basic design. Regardless, they’re very helpful and make sneak a palmier or two while you wait for your order. 1 Star.
Food — I’m not going to focus on the savory items. I come here for the cakes and petite fours. The strawberry shortcake & mocha cakes are consistently great. The cakes are moist, not overly sweet, and the strawberries on top seem like they were picked from the best of the batch. But the best item is the strawberry napoleon. It’s like the strawberry short cake where the cake is replaced by thin, crispy filo layers. It’s an incredible flavor and texture experience. And they are BEAUTILFUL. You almost don’t want to eat them. Desserts here really are incredible. 2 Stars.
Will I Return? — Yes! And not often enough. Given enough lead time Vie a Paris is one of my favorite places to order quality cakes from. They’re a bit far for most folks, but when I have a big order they’re at the top of the list. 1 Star.

1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm.
1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point.
2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food.
1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return.
Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

Tucked away in a little strip center across the street from Northeast mall is this hidden jewel. Dont let the modest exterior or the sparse seating interior fool you. This bakery cranks out some of the most near authentic French pastries this side of the metroplex can offer. For starters the pastry chefs here actually speak French! It is owned by a Vietnamese lady but some of her staff members are fluent in the language of love. In any case, back to the sweets; here you will find pastries with just the right hint of sweetness that leaves your palate lingering for more. My all time fave and what I pretty much grew up on, which is the Strawberry shortcake with fresh gorgeous fruit piled on top a spongecake soaked in just the right amount of rum syrup covered with a very light whipped icing, and then rounded off with roasted sliced almonds on the sides. This is my family’s special occasion cake that we order for nearly every gathering. I also enjoy the fresh fragrant almond croissants from here as well. So if you enjoy sweets that aren’t so sweet (crazy, I know) come here and enjoy a slice or two of heaven.

I have been coming here for years, probably 10 or more. For those who can’t stand the sweet cakes at a lot of American markets, this place is a good place to buy their famous French fruit cakes. My family always buy their cakes for any special occasion. They’re just the right amount of sweet and soft too. Apparently, you’re supposed to call them ahead and reserve a cake since they run out of them toward the end of the day. Or just don’t walk in last minute like I did (still got my cake).
I had several of their other desserts too which were all pretty good. I don’t buy them often ’cause I want the whole cake to myself. Overall great place for desserts!

I love their pâté choux. I cant get enough of those fluffy pastry with meat inside. they are pretty small and seem a lil pricey but it’s so so sooooo good. If you havent had their pâté choux or don’t know wat they are, you have to have one of those, you wont regret it. The buttery taste of the dough, the fluffiness, and the yummilicious of the pork. I could eat at least 3 of them all at once but it’d be too much to make me feel guilty for half a day lol.
Try one of their strawberry shortcake. I like the fact that it’s not overly sweet like the ones you get from grocery store. the fruits are always fresh and the cream are really good.
