Miguelito’s Mexican Restaurant

Was out in this area today doing some shopping and checked on my bookmarks, and this place is in there. This is probably due to Groupon or LivingSocial recommendation. This was definitely hidden gem. I stopped in for lunch and the place was probably about 25% full. I was riding solo, so I had a seat at the bar. The bartender, Colton, was extremely nice and helpful. I had the tacos de camaron, but he allowed me to substitute fish instead. The fish was tilapia. from the first bite every taste bud was lit up. I had never tasted anything like this, and the combination of ingredients was spot on. It was so good. I will definitely have to go back to try a couple other dishes. Also, I had my first tamale, which is an acquired taste.

Had totally forgotten about this place. A group of us had stopped here about 5 years ago and remembered that the food was really good. Back again this time we were all very pleased with everything. The tamales, fajitas, enchiladas, queso, tacos, quac, charro beans and salsas were all what you would expect from a solid Tex-​Mex joint. Most everything tasted home made with love. The place was super busy but we never had issues with service. The only two small disappointments were the margarita was off a little and the fajitas didn’t come out in the piping hot skillet, but the table next to us did. Wasn’t worth sending them back after how good the fajitas were when we tried them.
This place puts out basic solid Tex-​Mex. Great food and fairly priced. 4.5 stars.
BTW, happy 20 year anniversary Miguelitos. The best of success for the next 20 years to your restaurant and family. We were there the night of your parking lot celebration.

Service– descent
Food — acceptable 5 on a scale of 1 – 10
Ambiance– decent for price and styled appropriately
Cost– slightly over priced for quality of food. Though the weekday lunch specials look reasonable.
One thing I’d like to mention is their margaritas I would rate them very high 7 out of 10. Though my overall feeling is that on the boarder would be a way better way to spend your money. Though I’d rank on the boarder only as a 6.5 on a scale of 1 – 10.

When you walk in here you can only smell raw sewage and fajita’s we only stayed because we were meeting up friends and they were already sat and waiting on us. I do not recommend this place at all, there were so many things but the main and grossest is how terrible it smells, we actually noticed the waiters would periodically walk around with fajitas around the restaurant then you see them walking back to the kitchen and never stop to put them down, this explains why all you smell is sewage and fajitas, they obviously know there is a problem but have not fixed it.
If the building smells this bad I can only imagine how filthy the kitchen is.

Nice people. Rarely go because I don’t like the food. The fajitas have a sweet taste, don’t care for the salsa or chips. My sister goes there because it’s close to her house and she uses a groupon. She loves the staff. I only go to accomodate her. My least favorite mexican food, but the restaurant is clean, the service is excellent.

Good food, better ambiance. Reminds me of my favorite California Mexican restaurants, places such as Lucy’s El Adobe, El Coyote, and Casita del Campo in L.A. and the Manor Grill in San Leandro. I was instantly at home here and ordered my combination like it’s served in Cali: two chicken enchiladas with verde sauce, beans, refried rice, with two warm flour tortillas and some chopped salad on the side (next time I’ll also get some guacamole). With the tortillas you tear off big pieces and make little bean-​rice-​salad bugles and pop them in your mouth. Heaven. I liked the big jugs of pourable, spicy salsa on the tables as well that enable you to refill your bowl yourself. Will be back often.

This place is not recommended by me. High priced blah food and poor service. I was gonna give it 2 stars however it took an extra 20 minutes to get our check and leave. Find somewhere better to waste your money at, they obviously don’t want to survive as a business.

This has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants for a long time. Authentic Mexican cuisine, great service, never a bad meal.
The waiter asked me out once… that was a little awkward.
Flattering though.
The bar side is great for a night out, even has a charming little patio.
Get the enchiladas.

Pretty good. Half bar, half restaurant. I spent my time on the bar side for my clients/​friends birthday celebration. The food was tasty. I had nachos and some type of fried roll stuffed with chicken, all served with sour cream and guacamole. I wouldn’t be opposed to coming again. Only thing I raised an eyebrow at was that there wasnt a changing table for babies in the restroom. This was inconvenient for me and my 8 month old. I didn’t want to change him in the booth we were sitting at. I decided to change him on a chair which was high, kind of like a bar chair, away from the crowd. This was kind of dangerous but I had no where else to change him from what I could see. Plus I have my super mommy skills so I was quick with the whole changing diaper process.
Overall, great service this resturant provided. Very friendly and personable.

Took a group of 14 there and we were given a private room which was great! Chips and salsa were good! Ordered combo fajitas and they were average; good but nothing spectacular. I enjoyed the low-​key atmosphere of the restaurant with a neighborhood feel. Service was good and prices were average!

Hot sauce and brisket taco was good.
No changing station for babies… can’t even believe that’s possible this day and age. I told the manager — he just smiled and said «thank you.» Clearly he doesn’t care and isn’t going to do anything about it

I did not enjoy my good here, nor did my husband or son. No heat or spices-​just a lot of sauce and cheese. Chips were stale and salsa was watery and flat.
It’s a bit of a drive but we will be sticking with Lupes.

One of my favorite neighborhood spots. Great Tex Mex. Order a feozen margarita! Family friendly, wonderful ambiance, and service!

A good little family owned Mexican restaurant. My family goes here regularly (it is a favorite amongst my dad and his friends), I will also bring out of town work guests as well. It feels like one of the more authentic Tex Mex experiences in DFW. Miguelito’s would not feel out of place in San Antonio.
The atmosphere is good as is the pleasant service. I’ve never had to wait long for a table although on weekends is is frequently crowded which makes for a fun time.
The food and drink are both solid, albeit nothing fantastic. They justly have pretty standard Tex Mex fare, but it’s all pretty good.
They do this funny thing where some of the plates have an «M» on the bottom (M for Machismo, obviously). If you get an M plate, I think you get a free meal next time. I’m pretty sure they just do it to make everyone look stupid when the whole table is lifting their plates in the air to peak on the bottom. Dance Monkeys! Dance!

Hubby and I met another couple for dinner tonight. Greeted promptly, waters for everyone and two adult beverages delivered right away.
Hubby doesn’t eat much, so he just enjoyed the libations. I opted for the sour cream chicken nachos, add pico before they are broiled. OMG velvety sauce, super moist and tender chicken and I took lots home for tomorrow.
Friend order two soft tacos, served all carte, but nothing lacked in the presentation. he ate them all, so two thumbs ups!
Wife got the gargantuan flautas and I can honestly say I’ve never seen such a generous portion. Looked. crispy on the outside, tantalizingly inside and the sour cream sauce was q nice addition but clearly not needed.
Kudos to the chef, the staff and the FOH manager for checking on everyone at least once! Pics to follow, fellow foodies!

Found this on Unilocal and in my passbook with a buy one get one free. Reviews were mostly good.
Service is excellent and very friendly. They stay busy and it’s very clean inside. I had the Shrimp fajitas. They were good but not great. My girlfriend had enchiladas plate that she said was ok.
Overall our bill would have been $ 50 for two dinners and two sodas with sopapillas. It’s not bad at all just not the best and probably wouldn’t come back. However that’s only because we like to try new places all the time and only go back to the same places if they are really great.

Came here twice, once with just my mom and once with both my parents. Both times they got my mom’s order wrong for some reason, and forgot our silverware but overall the food was good and I would still say the service was great. The atmosphere is bright with upbeat Hispanic music, so I’d say a nice place for a simple date with friends, family or significant other.

This is my second time here. I came back for the chili relleno! Hands down; the best I have ever had. Service is friendly and top notch classy. The waiters are dressed like they are serving a banquet nice touch.
Also they leave the hot sauce jug on the table so there is no waiting for the server to come back around to refill. Food came out so fast! I only ate 4 chips! Lol

My wife and I stopped in after church to grab a late lunch/​early dinner. This was our 3^rd visit to the restaurant. We decided to try the fajitas this time around. After we were seated our customary salsa and a basket of hot chips was delivered to our table. The salsa, although very good, just wasn’t as spicy as it has been in the past, but it was very tasty.
We order a plate of bean and cheese nachos to start with. When they arrived we had to ask the waiter for jalapenos. I’ve never understood TexMex restaurants, which many do, sending out plates of nachos without peppers. It just doesn’t make sense.
Our sizzling fajitas arrived just as we were finishing the delicious nachos. The single portion was huge and perfect for sharing. There were lots and lots of caramelized onions and peppers. The chicken was grilled very nicely and had a lot of flavor.
Service was snappy and we never lacked for anything. Miguelito’s is a «solid» TexMex restaurant, you can’t go wrong dining there.

You know it’s authentic when the salsa comes in jugs and is just another condiment on the table. Waiters bring bowls of chips as soon as you sit down. I tried a few different texmex spots in the area and I got the most shrimp by far when I ordered fajitas here.
Was pretty packed both times we came for lunch. The green walls and south of the border decorations makes it feel very festive.
Tried the shrimp tacos the second time… Stick to the fajitas. They’re fabulous.
