Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dfw West – Hurst

First and foremost this is not your typical Holiday Inn Express. We have stayed in many. Friendly staff!
The room was clean and spacious. Maid service was superb! We were never neglected. They are hard at work every day. In the rooms or in the hallways.
This hotel not only has breakfast but also has a social happy hour from 5 – 7 Monday through Thursday with beer/​wine and heavy hoursedivoursv. Not to mention Morgan & Rachel who were working the social hour. Super sweet gals to visit with. They will take great care of you! Husband and I are so glad to have met you both. You made our stay even better.
We have been here for numerous days and have noticed just a couple of things that could use some improvement. The back door could use a trash receptacle. We have noticed a gentlemen picking up trash around the hotel once a week but maybe it should be once a day. Unfortunately you are dealing with inconsiderate and irresponsible people who can’t pick up after themselves. I sure hope they are proud of who they have become. The bedroom doors are hard to close quietly for those who care about their neighbors.
We will definitely be back if/​when we are in this area again.

Very nice hotel. It’s super clean and the rooms are perfect size. Only problem is there horrible pillows. Couldn’t sleep at night because the are so bad. They are so so soft even the ones that are supposed to be firm.

Slamming doors all night and early morning! Sadly, this is a decent place for the price however, the slamming doors, noisy walkers from the floor above due to very thin flooring, and the final straw loud inconsiderate people walking in the halls to their rooms late at night. Ugh!
The door situation could be easily fixed. Just install spring loaded hinges like many other hotels have that do not allow the doors to slam. That would eliminate much of the noise issue for the ones trying to sleep. The loud talkers in the hall, well that’s just bad manners and the hotel can’t help that.
Rooms are spacious and clean. I liked the good sized bathroom with the marble sink and shower. Beds were comfy, soft not too firm. They have a nice indoor pool area however no hot tub. Bummer. Workout room looked nice but we didn’t use.
Breakfast very good. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, waffles, cereal and cut up fresh fruit. No juice or black tea which is kind of strange since these are usual staples at breakfast buffets.
Would not recommend this hotel unless they fix the door situation. Also, ask to stay on the 4^th floor so there isn’t the issue of heavy footed people above you.

When I think of a Holiday Inn, the first thing that comes to mind is a cheap subpar hotel. This was definitely not the case for this hotel. I stayed here for 2 nights during a conference that was being held nearby at the Hurst Conference Center. The great thing about this hotel was the quality of the room and the proximity near the conference center.
Upon entering the room, I noticed how spacious the room was. Our room contained two beds, TV, microwave, coffee maker, ice bucket, and a fridge. Each bed contained a faux down comforter with four pillows: two firm and two soft pillows. There were enough plugs to charge your electronic devices. The bathroom had a modern feel with a large sink and bath tub/​shower. The room and bathroom were very clean with plenty of towels.
Along with the comfortable rooms, they offered free happy hour and breakfast in the morning. Most cheaper name hotels only a continental breakfast, this was definitely not the case. After enjoying a workout in their fitness center, I was pleasantly surprised to find hot breakfast with healthy options, such as turkey sausage. They have breakfast options for everyone’s preferences from the traditional cereal and oatmeal all the way to a pancake maker.
The FREE happy hour was impressive. Their happy hour offers a selection of local and domestic beers with horderves. This happy hour was located in their dining room area and was popular among the individuals staying in this hotel. Do not pass up this opportunity to enjoy good conversation among individuals while enjoying a beverage with finger foods.
I would stay at this hotel again. I was pleasantly surprised how I enjoyed my stay here better than some Marriott or Hilton hotels.

Got stuck next to the elevator and it is LOUD. We can hear all of the mechanical and electrical sounds in the room… we can even hear the elevator ding when it arrives on the floor. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. And, the staff won’t move us because they are sold out… even though priceline shows 3 available rooms… understandable. What I cant understand is that this is a newer hotel and the sound proofing is non-​existent. Totally dissatisfied with this hotel.

Did not stay here for lodging — but came here for a small 3-​day training seminar. Although there was construction going on at the front lobby (guests had to use the side doors), it was clearly marked and the noise was kept to a minimum.
Our conference room was located pretty close to the construction, yet we never heard a sound. Because the three-​day seminar, occurred all day. I wanted to comment on parking and breakfast.
Outside the lobby, there is a table seating area for guests to meet or eat. In the morning hours, they serve breakfast, which includes pancakes (that are made by a conveyor belt machine — which was pretty cool, BTW), biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, delicious and magnificent cinnamon rolls that compare to Cinnabun. I would just eat one pancake and with the cinnamon roll instead of using syrup. They also offered muffins and other pastries, which I did not partake because the cinnamon rolls is what I spent all my morning calories on. The rolls are kept under a heating lamp, so they are kept warm and never get hard.
The air conditioning worked great too, although a couple of guests said the AC units were really loud, but I love the white noise of a AC unit, so it would have been just fine for me.
The parking was abundant and easy to navigate. There were plenty of shade during those hot summer months when it makes a world of difference parking under a tree. If I wasn’t staying with family during the training seminar, I would have definitely stayed here.

We booked 6 rooms for 3 nights at this location. The staff was so nice & accommodating. The rooms were clean & the beds very comfortable. Housekeeping was amazing & friendly. The hotel is in a great location — right across from the police station, so there is a great sense of security. It is also close to plenty of great restaurants & shopping. We were not disappointed with anything!

The hotel and staff are great. I had a VERY clean room (not just the synthetic cleaner smell either). The hotel was quiet during my stay and the beds was good. I don’t expect it to feel like home for me, but I do appreciate a good bed. Breakfast is the typical HIE fare, and was as expected. I missed the evening reception, but those are always welcomed when I see them. My only negative here is the internet is pathetically slow. Worse than dial up. I travel a lot for work and depend on being able to work in the room, but this is bad. I even moved around the building looking like a creeper to find somewhere that I could send an email from. Now I know why the Starbucks down the street was packed. If the Internet worked great (and there is no reason a hotel should be bandwidth limited) I’d give this a 5 star rating. I actually struggled to give it 4 solely because of the wifi.

Great experience! Doesn’t get much better than this for a hotel around $ 100 a night. Clean, courteous staff, great lobby, etc. Only negative is there is so much construction on the freeway. However, that’s not the hotels fault. I’ll continue to stay here when I’m on business in this area of DFW.

I stay in a ton of business hotels and travel to DFW often. If you find yourself near Hurst, this Holiday Inn just cant be beat. The staff is friendly. The hotel is beautiful and the managers reception every evening is top notch. Wireless internet is fast. Its nice to find hotel management that still understands the importance of first rate customer service. Bravo!

This place is awesome, next time I get stranded in Dallas waiting on a flight of North and their airports are iced/​snowed in I’m coming back here!!! They sent a shovel out for me once I arrive the room was ready to go, great looking room clean smell great looked excellent also from 5 to 7 is their happy hour had plenty of food and beer available. Staff very courteous driver excellent. The pool and hot to of were great as well hit the spot stayed open until 11 PM.
I will definitely and I do mean definitely stay here any time… Maybe when NASCAR comes back this year is not that far away from the track.

In town for family visit, usually stay a couple doors down, but they were booked, so we got in here. Our history with Holiday Inn Express in other towns has always been good, so we didn’t expect this stay to be any different. From the moment we walked into the hotel, we knew it would be different!
First, I’ll start with the interior, very beautiful, clean, staff friendly and courteous. Our room was spacious, clean, and very nicely decorated. We had so much room to spread out and after being on vacation for a few more days, this extra space was nice.
Our bathroom had no tub, but then who usually takes a bath on vacation? The amenities were also very nice, the breakfast bar served both hot and cold items, the pastries were fresh and delicious, the coffee per my husbands comments, was better than most.
We didn’t swim, but took a look at pool, it was indoors, and completely empty, and although the temps in town during our stay were warm enough for swimming, we just didn’t have time.
We got clean towels and toiletries daily, however, my husband spilled some potato chips on the floor, tried to clean it up best he could, and we noticed on day three they didn’t run the vacuum, as the broken chips could still be seen on the floor.
With the location of my family close by, this seems a good location to stay for future trips, and I feel was a «nicer» hotel compared to our previous stay up the street, and so with our future visits, I do believe we’ll be back!

Great hotel and a good value. Well appointed and in like new shape. You usually get what you pay for when staying at a hotel but this one gives you more.

As a priority club member, I’ve seen a few Holiday Inn’s. This one is one of the best I’ve seen. This place was impressive, lobby was clean, very up to date with beautiful décor, very very high ceilings with custom curtains to the top, wall covered dark wood fireplace with huge tv mantel and sitting area, also adjacent to the sitting area are these huge wooden glass doors leading to what looked like a library business sitting area. Just seems accomodating for travelers that have to stay longer than the norm. The room was nice, shower was beautiful for a Holiday Inn, tile work and walk around shower feature was wonderful. Tile work was also seen in pool area, hot tub was great, and rock flooring and décor was inviting. Business office worked well. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the breakfast, could’ve been a lot better, would rather go somewhere and pay for breakfast. Biscuits were hard as a rock, eggs had no flavor… that’s with it being an «omelet?», sausage was cold… just not good. The area is great with it’s wonderful mall, huge theatre, cheap gas, and restaurants… speaking of… Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine is absolutely a must! Ate there both nights we were in town, and ordered some for the trip home the next day. That good!

I opted to stay here for business after reading some of the other reviews here and on Unilocal.It is a few minutes away from other Holiday Inn Expresses, but looks to be so much better. The breakfast bar area was pretty nice and clean and quiet, and the food was pretty good. The staff were nice, the rooms were clean and pretty modern. The TV channel selection was huge compared to others I’ve seen recently.
The only concern I had was that the police station or hospital that were nearby would keep me up/​be noisy, but it wasn’t an issue.
Overall, if you are in the area, definately consider this property. Although I didn’t go into the other Holiday Inn Express right up the road towards the airport in Bedford, I would discourage people from staying there for now as there is massive construction going on.
Only reason this isn’t 5 stars is that it isn’t a resort hotel on a beach somewhere ;)
PS If you stay here, go to BJ’s Brewhouse about a mile away. Great beer selection, great service, and the food was good.

Just checked in and am very impressed with cleanliness on the whole place. Looks brand new. Rooms are spacious. Beautiful lobby, business center. Indoor pool that closes at 10pm. One problem– had to have keys «rekeyed» several times. Would open door fine– then wouldn’t. Weird. May be an isolated problem.
