The YMCA Corporate Office is located at 120 Holmes Ave. in Huntsville. There are no gym facilities at this location.
Heart of the Valley YMCA is 25,000 members strong serving our community through three branches in Downtown and Southeast Huntsville as well as the Hogan Y in Madison; YMCA Northwest, YMCA Southeast and YMCA Downtown Child Development Centers; and YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee on Lake Guntersville.
We are a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
History
Established in 1910.
Heart of the Valley YMCA is a 501©(3) charitable organization founded in Huntsville in 1910 by dedicated individuals who believed that strong communities are built by strong children within strong families. The YMCA has helped textile mill workers improve their families’ living conditions, guided young men and women as they built their athletic abilities through a myriad of sports programs, nurtured young children enrolled in YMCA child care programs, supported our Military through free membership and child care, and provided kids from all walks of life with a lifetime of character-building experiences.
Meet the Manager
Jerry C.
Manager
Jerry Courtney began his work as President of the Heart of the Valley YMCA in November 2014. He brings 30 years of experience as a Y professional to the association with headquarters in Huntsville, Ala., and a service area spanning five counties, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, Morgan and Jackson, with three membership branches, three child development centers and a resident camp.
Under his leadership, Ys have been recognized nationally for health and wellness programs and teen leadership development. While President of the Lima Family YMCA in Ohio, Jerry brought home grants from the Centers for Disease Control totaling $ 1.65 million and the U.S. Conference of Mayors totaling $ 200,000.
Jerry is Past President of the Lima, Ohio Rotary Club. He is on the Board of Trustees for the Sioux YMCA in South Dakota and Camp Catch a Rainbow for kids with cancer.
