Mr. Howie originally opened his law practice in Austin, Texas while working as Chief of Staff to a well respected State Representative in the Texas Capitol. Mr. Howie’s desire to serve his country led him into the Air Force while still representing a select few clients while on his military service.
During his military service, Mr. Howie served as a federal prosecutor in both: The United States Air Force, Judge Advocate General Corps for over 4 years; and as a Special Assistant to the United States Attorney in the Eastern District of North Carolina for over 2 years. After completing his Active Duty Service commitment, Mr. Mitchell J. Howie reopened his private practice in 2009 and now primarily practices in Huntsville Alabama while still maintaining his Texas license (inactive status).
Mr. Howie has been promoted to Major in the United States Air Force Reserves and teaches trial advocacy to other military lawyers on several occasions throughout the year all across the globe.

Mr. Howie attended the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, in 2001. He began law school at the University of Houston in 2001 and completed his coursework and received his Juris Doctorate in 2004. During law school, Mr. Howie worked as a clerk at a prestigious Houston law firm and also worked as a legislative intern at the Texas State Capitol.
Mr. Howie was offered a commission by the United States Air Force JAG corps. Before accepting his commission to become a military attorney he opened his own private practice and served as Chief of Staff to a Representative in Texas. In May 2005, Mr. Howie accepted his commission and began serving as a military lawyer and served on Active Duty until 2009. Mr. Howie remains in the reserves as a military lawyer and teaches trial advocacy. Mr. Howie continues serving military families in military divorce and military defense cases while practicing criminal law, family law and personal injury law.
