Comcast Service Center

I was told that Comcast was awful, but being an AT&T customer I never noticed. Alas, then I had to move house, and Comcast was the only alternative.
And then, so began my descent into madness.
I moved in, the internet worked perfectly for 24 – 48 hours at a time and then failed. Every time this happened, I would have to call them, describe everything, read them all of the serial numbers off my modem, reset everything, and then I would get back online. Bizarrely, they would often have me tell the entire story, then check everything, then recite everything, and then send me to another department to do the same thing again.
Same problem, same numbers, same serials, same process. again, and again, and again, and again.
After three weeks of teeth gnashing and scratching at my own face in despair, along with a solid 15 phone calls and perhaps 20 hours of talking/​typing via the chat service on the Comcast website, I tried to cancel.
I told people why, I told them my address, I told them my details. I told them again, and again, and again, and again, and again. usually 4 or 5 times during the same phone call.
Eventually, though bone-​weary and almost pushed to the point of insanity, I managed to get assured I was gettign disconnected and would get an email. It never arrived.
So I called again. And again. And again.
Still no disconnect confirmation. So I called a number I got a few weeks back, that led to a sensible sounding chap from technical support. He was smarter than 99% of their employees, and once again he gave sound advice. He said «Basically they will mess you around, so go to the service center in person and demand it in person.»
So I did. And I explained, and explained, and waited, and explained.
Frankly, I would rather have a conversation with a serial sex offender, naked in a bathtub full of Jello, then have another conversation with a Comcast employee.
Everything about the company is poison. If Comcast was a person, he would be Hitler with leprosy.
They try to make you pay for everything, absolutely everything, even if you point out that they have cost you time, money, and sanity. Honestly, I could go on and on and on and on.
I despise Comcast now. 3 years with AT&T and I think I made maybe 2 phone calls. But these assholes… If I had an atom bomb in my shed, I would drop it on their corporate headquarters, watch 4000 people burst into flames and be reduced to ash, and I would still be able to sleep like a baby.

Runaway from these people! First, they don’t answer the phone in Huntsville, too many complaints. Second, they don’t disclose all their fees/​charges. I had high speed 100MBS internet, loved it, until 2.5 weeks in when I ran out of internet. What? Yep, they forgot to tell 300Gig was my limit and how did we use 300Gig? Canceled them as soon as I could get someone else. Third, their installs and cancellations are awful. They cut your existing ISP lines, and leave it laying in the road, on the ground, hanging from the pole. My neighborhood (Jones Valley) had a run of Comcast /​Xfinity over a two week span earlier this year and I had to pick up the wire from the street. It laid there for months. When I called to complain, I got a nationwide call center, not Huntsville. BEWARE, these guys are awful!

I have been a Comcast customer for many years. . Besides the late fees charged the day after the bill is paid, paying for service that you have not been able to use (–7 signal, being thrown around from agent to agent, being dropped from a call because it has really too long, the biggest issue came about .
I was given a wonderful rate of 44.99 for 160 channels 3 5^th plus a DVR. I took it and they sent a tech out because I tried but was unable to get service. I am disabled and I have spent two weeks trying to get service. Now for the biggie.
The technician came and reinstalled the cable and when he hooked up the cable boxes he said I was going to have to call customer service because my package was for Latinos. I don’t speak Spanish. The rep at Comcast said she would turn on the English channels but my rate was going to be $ 129. Almost double the cost .
I tried to talk with the agent and told her it was insulting. This is an English speaking country and to be penalized for being a citizen, working 30 years and having at least 50 relatives that have served this country was beyond insulting. I was then told it was subsidized politically. Which government subsidized? She didn’t know. We had better change things quick.

Got my bill and it was almost $ 100 higher than it should be. Called billing and found that I was being charge for a service call that should have been free. To replace the box was free but the tech charged me for a service he didn’t perform. I got the charge removed. Watch out for shady technicians. Watch them

I have had this service for 1 month and it has been a long drawn out process to get tv. I first called and gave the rep # of rooms etc. He said I would need on HD box & a modem. He said other TV’s I can hook up to the wall to get channels. So I set up my TV’s myself & no signal. I call for a tech & they said I need an amplifier. They said my other rooms need to be rewired because the signal is weak. I set up another appointment for rewiring. The tech comes & says I don’t need rewiring just amplifiers & that I would have to set up an appointment for that! He said I will also need boxes for the other rooms that I can’t just hook them up from the wall. I call to order the additional equipment & set up an appointment. Day of the appointment I wait & no techs. I call & they inform me the rep I spoke with didn’t put the appointment in completely & that I will need to make another appointment.
