History

Established in 1980.

Early on, as a master carpenter, Chuck Nunley, Sr. enjoyed success doing remodeling projects and building custom homes in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. While residential garage doors were a small element of his construction business, Chuck, Sr. saw that, with the booming housing market, there was a need for knowledgeable well-​trained, overhead door service providers. Superior Overhead Door was born.

In addition to sales, installation, and repair of residential garage doors, Superior soon added a commercial sales and service division as well. For over 30 years, Superior’s motto has been, «Superior Service at a Superior Price.»

From the beginning, the family has always been an integral part of Chuck, Sr.‘s philosophy. His greatest desire has been to build a business where his children and future generations would work with him side by side. From office management to technicians in the field to business development, family members all play active roles.
