Huntington Stand Up Paddle

Went here a couple of weeks ago to try my first time at SUP. It was a little hard to find but Nicole was amazing from the start. She helped guide us to their shop quickly (the directions on Google Maps lead us to the lot next door. if you’re using Google Maps just keep driving until you see the Huntington SUP paddle board sign outside of their shop). There’s plenty of parking in a gravel parking lot next to the small shop. In the shop, they have the essentials if you forget to bring your own — sunscreen, drinks, hats, and some souvenir stuff. They also let you borrow small dry bag to put your cell phone in if you don’t have your own. Nicole gave our group a quick tutorial on the basics of paddle boarding and we were given life vests and oars fitted to our height. She also showed ups some basic moves in the water — different methods of turning, standing up, or paddling on your knees. After that we were off! It was a nice day and being able to spend it on the water was amazing. You have to be careful of the passing boats as there is a waterway nearby. If you’re feeling brazen, you can cross it and hang out with the swans (don’t touch them! they’re mean little suckers). We met some cool boaters and had a few hilarious conversations. All in all a great time!
TIPS:
— Make a reservation before you go!
— If it’s your first time, ask for the YOLO boards. They’re a little more steady.
— Don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat.

Went here for an afternoon excursion yesterday and it was great! Katie was super nice in getting us set up with paddleboards and getting us into the water. She suggested a route for us to take, paddling around the marina/​the boats was fun and so beautiful. I’ll def be back.

I can’t even say how amazing this place is! From the perfect location, great prices, to great people– this is the place to be in the summer. This place quickly became a favorite last summer and it was a mini vacation every time we went down. Being out on that water is exactly what summer should be on Long Island! Grab a bunch of friends, a cooler, and your bathing suits and make the trip! You won’t find anything else like it and you will be hooked instantly!

I just started paddling last summer and I’m so glad that I did it at Huntington Stand Up Paddle. Not only is it close and convenient, but the scenery is beautiful and staff are very friendly and helpful.
Each time I went to paddle I ended up staying hours longer because I had so much fun hanging out at this spot! It’s a great workout and a great way to spend a beautiful summer day!
Katie is so enthusiastic and passionate about the SUP community and does a great job at getting everyone else stoked to try it!
