Marrone Service Station

Despite being recommended and convenient, I have stopped going to Marrone’s. The quality of the service dropped dramatically. I left my vehicle for inspection, and they returned it to me with the hood not latched. I discovered this at 60mph, on 135. They changed my oil, which had less than 300 miles on it and was full synthetic, because they «misread» the service card. On my wife’s last oil change, they left her a quart low. The kicker was when they charged my wife $ 40 to tighten her gas cap, which was causing a check engine light. After 8 years as a customer, that was the last straw. Brian, however, thought it made great sense.

Rich is an awesome mechanic — easy to deal with easy to work with and you get a quality repair for a very honest price.
He knows I’m quite handy so he even from time to time tells me how to fix it and ands me home!
Then me come back and he inspects my work…
Know these guys for almost 30 years since high school.
I refer everybody here and never heard a back report back.

Most honest and reputable mechanics on LI. Period.

I have been going to Marrone’s for a very long time but I have decided as of recently that I will not longer be a customer here. I very much believe that they overcharge for a lot of services. A simple oil change for me that runs close to $ 30 at any chain establishment like STS, costs about $ 50 here. Not to mention they like to snag a few extra dollars from you by «topping off fluids» for $ 2.00 each fluid (windshield washer and antifreeze) which they do just about every time you bring your car in even if you don’t ask for it! Can you say scam??? I have the bottles of fluid in my trunk and I never asked them to top them off.
I had this one particular experience that really was the icing on the cake… I brought my car in to get my AC fixed and they had to first do some sort of dye test. They had to go behind the dashboard and do some mechanic stuff (I have no idea obviously). In the process of them fixing my AC they somehow deactivated my auto-​start! I proceeded to tell them about this and they took my car in again to take a look at the problem. They said that certain wires arent there anymore that should’ve been, that they must’ve accidently taken the wires out when they went behind the dashboard to fix the AC (I still don’t understand why they had to mess with any wires)
In the end they didn’t really do anything at all to fix the problem that they caused even though I had mentioned it to them on multiple occasions. Lucky for them I have gotten a new car and don’t need to deal with that problem anymore. Multiple overpriced experiences has led me in a different direction for mechanic help in the future.

Rich and the guys that work here are honest, hardworking, fair (and sometimes even hilarious) — all super important qualities you want in your neighborhood go-​to car repair shop. Bonus: they also have fantastic hours.
