Tortas Ahogadas Guadalajara

The food here is delicious I love it I usually come here before work the only bit of a bad thing is the waiting time I usually eat like two plates of chips with salsa lol for the wait its so tastey! Feel like taking it home sometimes lol
Anyways my favorite plate would be the tacos with barbacoa those are to die for !

This is one of those «terrible service but delicious food» type of places. I work close by and this is the closest place that serves decent Mexican food but every time I come I always regret it! Service is really slow even if it’s empty, waitress always gets something wrong, phone orders are never ready when you pick them up. Last time their debit card systems were down and they forgot to tell us so after we ate and tried to pay they said cash only! Like maybe you should tell people that before they order! Food is really good though.

Great food and drinks as well, service is horrible the waitress take forever to come over with napkins or anything you ask for, they forget about you! Personally I would take the food to go, rather than eat there!

Great place to spend good time while having authentic mexican food and listening live music! The trio

This place is so great and delicious! They are famous for their tortas and they are amazing but I love the carne en su jugo. Also, the tacos dorados de papa con carne y buche are really good!!! You can literally choose anything on the menu and it has the really authentic Mexican sabor. Watch out for the hot sauce cause that thing is no joke.
If you go on the weekend there is a little bit more of a wait but it’s definitely worth it. If there’s a line out the door you know the food is going to be good!
The prices are pretty good considering all the food you get. They’re not stingy with the portions. Come with a big appetite and lots of friends!!!

Tortas Ahogadas in LA is the best place to find and enjoy an authentic torta estilo Guadalajara. Trust me when I say this, I visited Guadalajara last year and both tortas taste about the same. I’ve checked in at this place several times on Facebook while sharing some of the pictures of my food and many friends of mine have gone after that and they all LOVE this restaurant. The prices are very affordable and let’s not forget the great service that you’ll receive. This place is family owned so they treat every customer as part of the familia. Obviously this place is always packed because they have their faithful customers as well as new ones all the time.
Also, they have amazing happy hour specials that will beat some of the prices from other nearby restaurants. This place is a must-​go if you want to have an authentic Mexican dish, whether if it’s a torta ahogada or some tacos de barbacoa or their incredibly delicious chilaquiles, that’s why I rate this place the BIG 5 stars!

Came in here with a party of 6 on Sunday afternoon. There were 2 tables in front of us at the time of check in.
Let’s start by saying this place is small, and very understaffed. I wouldn’t compare to La Barca or Guadalajara Grill in space. We signed in, waited 40 mins outside. We saw all parties that signed in after get called before us, to which I proceed to check in with the hostess about the wait, to which she says «sorry, I didn’t see your name on the list, but we will clean a table for you right now». (when clearly there were exactly 6 tables names marked off after us of the tables that had been called) 15 minutes later, I check in again thinking my table would be ready, spotless and polished. She tried cramping us into a table designed for 4. After an hour of waiting, we decided to give it a few more minutes and wait for booth in which we all fit comfortably.
The food was «good». Nothing special about this place, I guess my expectations were set just too high. Ordered the torta ahogada and 2 barbacoa tacos, which look delicious on the picture but definitely didn’t taste like much if it wasn’t for the lemon that picked up some kind of flavor.
Tried a bite of the wet burrito and all I have to say is. who puts torta ahogada sauce on a burrito? Looks like they make 1 type of salsa and just throw it on everything that needs moisture.
I gotta give them props for the tejuino though. And the fact that they had the Chivas game on.

Love the food but with the bad customer service in the restaurant, bad customer service over the phone, and the cooks can’t cook over easy eggs this place is going down hill fast. My husband and I gave them multiple chances but they keep disappointing us.

I must say I was really looking forward to coming here, and left regretting it. Not at all what I expected. I ordered a torta ahogada which lacked flavor. It was a bit cold and just a huge dissapointment

First time coming here and very great service, my family enjoyed their dinner and I was very impressed with there torta hogada with 3^rd level spice sauce. damn I was feeling it… lol!!!

Really good food, tried the tortas ahogadas and the carne en su jugo. Very great taste and great service as well. Will definitely come again:)

I went here with my husband, 3 and 5 year old kids and all loved it. The torta augada was the bomb, authentic down to the special birote, a bit spicy but soooo yummy. My husband had menudo and thought it was real good my kids love the rice and beans. The place itself makes u feel like if ur in Guadalajara because of the beautiful décor. I will definitely come again and recommended to anyone in town.

I came with my family & we all tried a lil of something. The carne en us jugo was bomb!
The tacos de canasta (chicharron) were nice and crispy. My boo tried their famous tortas ahogadas and they are great! Plus their micheladas were not water down they were just right!

Had a torta ahogada here and was not disappointed. Not the best I’ve had but it’s good. The carnitas was really good and tender and their horchata was 5 stars. Wouldn’t travel from the South Bay for this place though… only if I was in the area. There’s a spot in inglewood (tortuga bay) that has really good tortas ahogadas so it wouldn’t be worth the drive for me.
Good place if you are local/​in the area but I never am. If I came back I would probably try the carne en su jugo based on the other reviews.
Tortas ahogadas el Guero (in east la) still reigns supreme in my book and I will willing drive there for the perfect torta ahogada.

I travel over 30 miles daily to come and eat their specialty, tortas ahogadas. They are original and the salsa is fantastic! I have ordered other good food like the menudo, burritos and tacos. But I always seem to enjoy the tortas more. They do tend to get busy on the weekends so do be patient. I don’t blame them for being so busy. Just means they’re great!

There Torta Ahogadas are the bomb just like the ones in Guadalajara. Chips and salsa to begin were great. Paired with a Mexican Coke bottle… it’s a freakin meal. Restroom on site and plenty of parking. Waitress service. Don’t need to go all the way to Guadalajara for a Torta Ahogadas they brought to you.

Droooool! I love their tortas mixtas with the super spicy sauce. They have different levels of spice so that’s great since no one ever has spicy enough for me!
Their Tuesday night specials are awesome too!

Fue muy mal el servicio, tenemos mas de 10 años siguiendolos en donde se van a vender, pero Cada vez se poner peor… siempre Miran su beneficio y no la del cliente desgraciadamente la gente se hacen mas variciosas… Las Tortas estaba malas, horrible era mas almidon y talludo les dijimos y dijieron que el pan era recalentado… osea dan lo que ya esta viejo, ni en las especiales para atraer gente quieren invertir y siempre dan escusas y te hacen sentir como que quieres tomar ventaja… hoy miercoles llame a ordenar y ya no la especial tienen que sale a 10 y algo y sin soda, lastima a buscar otro lugar despues de 10 años de seguirlos

Pésimo servicio para ser tortas ahogadas de tardan demasiado las meseras muy pero muy lentas… Antes me gustaban pero creo q se les subió un poco…
