Rodeway Inn Near LA Live

Rooms are small but there’s enough space to be comfortable. Clean & room service is friendly. Stayed for 4 days, good customer service, we missed breakfast every morning but heard its basic juice, milk, Danishes & coffee. Overall a good experience, will definitely book again in the future.

Horrible place to stay. I was booked here on a business trip. The room had a nasty smell. There was no iron or ironing board in the room. When I called to request an iron, I was brought an iron that appeared as if someone fried cheese with it. The bottom was so nasty and black I was not going to touch my silk blouse with it. There were stains all over the floor. The toilet was just gross. Just horrible please avoid this place.

If I could leave zero stars I would. The manager is the rudest guy you’ll ever meet. Me and my pregnant wife showed up looking for a place to stay. Despite the location and bad parking we went and the guy tried to over charge us for a double bed when we had only wanted one bed. When we finally got in to the room it was a mess and we found ROACHES none the less we left in disgust!!!

Horrible experience to stay here. I suggest stay way from this hotel. My first check in the room had a sound like you live nearthe train station. It’s loud and the room look so old. We ask for the different room. Our room had No refrigerator Next morning the maid enter our room without knocking the door. She stare at us naked and close the room and left. She can’t read English the front door said do notbother. We were late from out appointment so we decide to stay another day so we call front desk they make us come down and make the payment. The Internet was so bad. No signal.. I won’t stay here

I checked in at 6pm. Left my room to get some party favors etc… I return at 8 and can hear the rumbling inside. I enter very carefully and right in front of me were 6 of the hugest roaches I’ve ever seen looking at me as they had started playing poker .the one dealing the cards asks me if I «had enough to sit in»?i had zero
Money left after I returned from the store .
They said my «credit was good «and ordered me to «park my ass down «5 hours later they had my Movado watch, and the keys to my Subaru STi.
I passed out from forced beer bongs (with the beer I bought) and they stole my DuPont lighter I was given as a gift by the governor of the principality of Andorra .

I have stayed here so many times. I have a dog and its really hard to find a place that will allow me to bring him. Mark and RIck are always A+ in the hospitality department. Couldn’t get friendlier managers than them. The cleaning ladies are very nice as well.
They are undergoing subtle (and discreet!) improvements which are making a big difference to the place.

I am a Choice Hotel Elite Member and they got me this dump for 8,000 of my reward points. I was so upset I called Choice Customer Relations who was supposed to call this horrible place and ask for my points back. They never did that. I was only there because it was supposed to be closed to L.A. Live, but it’s NOT that close… false advertising. Several weeks before, I made my reservation through Choice Hotels, and I reserved my room on the ground floor and asked for a handicap room. My reservation was confirmed through Choice and I got a reminder email from Rodeway. Upon my arrival, the reservation was upstairs and not handicap. The only handicap room was across from the office and not ready but front desk said it was clean and I could have it. It was NOT clean and the toilet was so loud and noisy. When we complained, we were told to shut off the water on the toilet until we had to use it. The WI-​FI was so complicated to get into and didn’t work well. Each device had to use a separate code. There was no closet or place to hang our clothes. There was NO Kleenex… they gave us napkins. The breakfast the next morning was in a locked room that the manager used his room key on to open for me, and consisted of cereal, danish, donuts, juice and coffee… no yogurt or fruit or eggs… YUK!!!
Yes, it is next to IHOP, but it is in a HORRIBLE part of town. When I told my family where I was staying, they said I was crazy, and unfortunately, they were right. Never again. I don’t understand how this place is part of the Choice Hotels brand.

Gross, flilthy, and horrible management. They are such jerks there. I’m pregnant and they tried towing my car! If I hadn’t came out, my car would’ve been gone.

BED BUGS!
By far the worst place I’ve ever stayed on vacation. DO NOT go here. It was $ 80 and the room was filthy. We had a reservation but from overhearing the staff it sounded like we just barely got a room. It would have been better to not stay here and sleep in the car. There were people shouting all night in the hallways which kept my girlfriend up past 4AM. The worst part of all is the we picked up bed bugs from this place. I could have lived with one night in a shady, dirty motel for cheap, but we are still paying the price. I also saw a young boy (about 8 years old) doing some of their hotel cleaning for them. What kind of place is this?

I’d rather leave! The front offices manager was very nice but the room is horrible! The carpets are discussing and dirty. The telephone fell apart in my hand, no refrigerator as promised and the toilet wouldn’t stop screaming all night. My daughter and I used our sleeping bags cause the sheets were stained. I just hope we can get a refund for tomorrow night! I’m disappointed. The Rodeway in Indio was great so I thought this would be too. NOPE!

This place is horrible! Crappy neighborhood over priced rooms, they are pet friendly at a price, i dont recommend this place to anybody, stay away…

First of all, obviously this is a budget motel, so calm down people. The room was quite small, but it was clean, trust me I inspected it with a flash light on my phone before checking in. The guy at the front desk was super nice, he let me see the room before checking in (he suggested it), so I went upstairs and went through everything very thoroughly. It was spotless, not a hair, nothing. Yes, it is a little old, carpet isn’t perfect, who cares. The bathroom was tiny too, but clean. There was plenty of warm water. The towels are rough, but again what do you expect lol? They are rough because they are being washed on a very high temperature to be clean, and clean they are, which is what’s important. We came to LA for the weekend from Santa Barbara and our budget was low and this place was affordable. I love nice things, but I also love to travel and get out of town for the weekend, and this place worked just fine. We were out all day and came back to the hotel to sleep at night, so it was perfect for that. It’s not in a good area BUT it’s not in a dangerous area, just not pretty that’s all. The location was perfect for us, close to downtown and other parts of LA too that we visited. Parking is free, wi-​fi is free. AC works very well. It was a hot day in LA and that AC saved the day (night, because it was on all night).There are a lot of nice Mexican restaurants nearby. We had our little puppy with us too, and there is an extra $ 10 charge per pet/​night which is super cheap compared to other places. The staff was nice so overall this was a good stay. If I could afford a 5 star hotel, I would stay there obviously, but right now I can’t so this place was just perfect for our lovely weekend in LA. If you have the same kinda attitude as me, you’ll like this hotel. Once again this is a clean but budget motel, nothing fancy or extra, just a room with a bathroom. If you’re a difficult and picky person, and if you have ridiculous requests like wine opener and other crazy stuff stay at the Hyatt.

Dear Reader:
The customer service at this place was amazing! The manager on duty was accommodating when we requested to make some changes to our reservation without hesitation. If you are not familiar with LA, this is a busy area not in the best part of town; having said that, if price and location is what is important to you then this is the place for you. Very close to most freeways and an IHOP right next door. You get the most for your $$$$$$ at this hotel.
Again, rate the hotel for their level of service as we found them to be very user friendly.

UNLESS you’re looking for a «No-​Tell-​Motel» STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
It’s dirty, dingy, reeks of something stale, the carpet looks like a crime scene took place, no coffee pot, two small generic bars of soap with 2 envelopes of some foreign shampoo/​conditioner each (good thing I’m bald). The shower has the water pressure of 4 rednecks in a pissing contest, the towels are so rough and «dry» it’s like sandpaper (if you want deep exfoliation, have an excessive mole or wart problem, these are the towels you need to scrub them right off)
OTHER than that, BE MOSTLY BEWARE OF THE CLEANING CREW. Take your suitcase/​belongings to your car, NOTHING IS SAFE! (not even your dirty clothes)
Here’s my story:
I flew in from Dallas, TX to LAX we had un unbelievable amount of snow and winter weather. I arrive at LAX and I’m wearing a wool team jacket with the company I work for large logo embroidered on the back. it’s hot, so I strap it to my luggage with the built in bungee cord. I check in this God-​forsaken hotel, I wake up next morning, leave with a sweater and my laptop bag. Left my jacket on the bed. I arrive and my coat is missing, The security video clearly shows it when I arrived folded strapped to me bag and it shows me leaving with a sweater. The hotel manager said: «well, that could be anything». I told him, do you think I came out of 20 degree weather with a sweater? We watched the security video and the only person to enter my room 2 hours after I left in the morning was the cleaning lady. I filed a police report with the Huntington PD 15 – 1 178, not that I’m going to ever see it again. Now I’m going to have to freeze my butt off going back home. UNBELIEVABLE!

THE PLACE YOU DO want to go is the DAYS INN in Downey/​StoneWood. OMG IT LOOKS LIKE A LUXURY SUITE AND SO CLEAN IS SMELLS THAT GREAT!

For the price that we paid after finding a cockroach in the room all by our clean clothes was unacceptable by an form of business. Apparently an exterminator comes once a week but I don’t buy that.

In LA with daughter and nieces for convention for 3 nights. I’m not familiar with LA at all. I’m a Choice Hotel Rewards member and have been for many years. I have always relied upon their recommendations and and reviews. This Inn was recommended by them. Per their website, rooms look very nice and had the necessities I needed. Wifi, microwave, fridge and continental breakfast.
Upon arrival the staff (young gentlemen) at check in was very polite and helpful. He even told us to go look at the room first. I thought to myself, how odd? I wonder why? He said it’s the only double bed available. (I booked this place over 1 month ago) I asked for microwave n fridge but he said there were none left. I quickly did a search of hotels in the area but with no luck since there were so many conventions going on this weekend. We agreed to take it.
Room is very small and dark. The carpet is very stained, dirty and even frayed where it meets the tiles. Toilet does not flush well. Sheets were clean though.
We couldn’t connect to wifi because we were too far from the lobby. The room wasn’t quite ready for us. There was no plastic cups, only less then ¼ roll of toilet paper. The sink faucet was broken. No big deal for me. I’ll deal with it. I went and got plastic utensils and cups from the dollar store across the street.
What upset me was we decided to skip maid service the first day because we thought we can save them a room or so. We can just go ask for clean towels later. That evening I went to ask the front desk (older gentleman) for towels and toilet paper. He handed me the toilet paper through cracked window. When I asked for towels. He yelled through the closed window, not looking up at me at all «NO! Towels are in your room!» I explained there are 4 females in a room and we skipped maid service. He yelled the same thing through the window and still didn’t even look at me. At least I got toilet paper huh?
In the morning I woke up to go downstairs for breakfast. What breakfast? If there was, it was no where to be found .
I paid 135.99 a night for 3 nights per the reccomendation of
. I really wished I checked Unilocal first. This place is not worth the amount I paid at all. I was very disappointed.
Should be 1 star but I’m giving 2 only because of the 1 staff member who was very courteous, helpful and went out of his way make sure we were taken are of. Without him, this place would be out of business.

This place was a nightmare! There was literally a prostitution ring going on in the alley and the sides of this building. We stayed one night because I had a last minute meeting downtown and this price was reasonable. It was unsafe, I was so scared to fall asleep, all I heard was police sirens all night. The pillow was a huge clump and the mattress had wires poking through it. I wasn’t expecting a 5 star hotel with this price, but I never pictured this nightmare. Don’t bring your family here!

This place is definitely not for the faint of heart!
Firstly, we’re not queens or anything, but come on, it’s advertised as «near LA Live», I thought it’d be at least a little nice, but this place is nowhere near LA Live! It’s at least 15 minutes down a very, very dark, desolate, and ghetto street. I should’ve known it was too good to be true, LA Live my hiney. We were already put off by the location, then we tried finding parking, we ended up having to park in the back right next to a gaggle of hoodlums. Check in was 15 minutes for some reason even though we had already paid in full via expedia
We get to our room (231) and it is about the size of four parking spaces, if that! First impressions were that the color pallet was very inviting, browns and redwoods, I wanted to pass out but had to do my ritual of taking my disinfecting spray to every surface and putting on my own pillow case — I’m glad I did! I woke up the next morning around 8, still groggy I hopped into the shower which felt amazing, it can go really hot and the water pressure was fine. Got out and turned on the air conditioning, which worked very well as well. Turned on the TV which worked well as well. Started to get back into the bed, there were BEDBUGS! OMG! Applied another coating of disinfecting spray to everything, went to wash my hands, there was no complimentary soap, nor lotion, shampoo or conditioner nor cups or an ice bucket. There was no mini fridge and at that point I was surprised we had gotten towels lol. I got dressed and went down for breakfast at 9:15. They stop serving breakfast at 9am. WTF.
Oh yea, I forgot to mention that the dressing area light is motion sensored so whenever I would move at night it would turn on and I would have to get up and turn it off. OMG SO UNBELIEVABLY ANNOYING! I also didn’t get a good nights sleep because around 7am the room started shaking from the Mexican restaurant below us playing loud music.
I dont think we got a clean room to begin with because when we came back that night I saw that they had been in the room while we were out and had only then placed the complimentary soap and conditioner on the counter. They were obviously in our room but didn’t make the bed or take the used towels lol, so random, why the hell did they go in our room if they weren’t going to service it??? Oh yea, also the wifi totally sucked, I wanted to stream netflix on my laptop and couldn’t because it was so terribly slow, but checking my email was just fine.
Ok so our final morning (we stayed Friday night through Sunday morning at $ 130 total) we finally got down to breakfast only to find that it was in no way a «full breakfast» as advertised. There was only watered down fruit punch and lemonade (no ice), frosted flakes, and some danishes from the store lol. Another reviewer said there was no milk, at first glance there does seem to be no milk, but there is a carton of milk in the mini fridge under the counter lol, but I was not using that! Put it in a dispenser or dont have milk at all you unsanitary people!
Whatever, we were so over this place we checked out right after getting ready for the day and not one second longer! It was the cheapest hotel I had ever stayed in but since I could barely sleep and their «breakfast» is quite literally a joke I think I’ll shell out the extra $ 20 for something liveable with an actual breakfast, but this will do in a pinch if you’ll barely be there, dont sleep, or just plain old don’t care much about staying somewhere sanitary.

i’m a nursing student and needed a place to stay during labs and this is the cheapest inn available. My first impression was good, it’s not a 3−5star hotel but the room they gave me was great for the price per night. Clean bathroom with no cigarette burns, no stained towels or hair, the sheets were ok, some little gray stains probably from oil but who cares, i brought my own bed bug sheets and pillow case so i’m safe with that =) i love the fact that i didn’t had any problems with their wifi, even if the room wasn;t close to the frontdesk (the frontdesk guys were so nice to me and very accomodating with my requests like a room with a ref and microwave) The tv was acting up a little bit but i wasn’t here to watch tv the whole time, i needed to be infront of my computer to study. There was no roaches or any insect so far and i didn’t itch (by the way i sprayed the room with bed bug spray LOL) A/​C was perfect! specially on a hot summer going up to 110 degrees. By the way i stayed here this weekend, will be checking out tomorrow morning. I made another reservation for this inn again and hopefully i’ll have another good room =) I will post a review again next month.
