Huntington Park Nursing Center

This is a wonderful nursing facility with a great nursing staff and strong rehabilitation team.

This center is staff centered. My family visited this facility while looking for a facility for a family member. Music from the radio station 92.3fm came out of the speakers over the entire facility (not the patient rooms, that we could tell) and was just a tad louder than «elevator music,» loud enough to be an irritant. Considering the average age of the occupants, I doubt that station was chosen with patients in mind. Equally annoying were the announcements made throughout the whole facility. There seemed to be a new one every five minutes. The vast majority were for staff telling them to contact so and so or to attend to a patient in a certain room. How about walkie-​talkies instead? Do patients have to endure constant disruptions? How about a different communication system?
The few staff we saw seemed to not want to be there; they seemed to be there simply to do a job. It was clean enough, but not pleasant. We placed our family member in another facility.
