Careful what you buy here They do not disclose to you they will only offer a store credit NO refunds. They have a rubber stamp they use stamping the back of the receipt only and do not mention at time of check out their policy. Sneaky and underhanded. Shop at Zappos or Shoe Buy. They are honest and fair people and welcome returns.

The owner of the Huntington Beach store is abrasive and obnoxious. I would not shop here, instead you should go to the The Walking Co. in Crystal Court. They have similar shoes and the sales people are really nice. They have a way better return policy and their hours are set. No waiting around outside wondering if someone is coming to work that day.

I have been buying my shoes from Cathy, the owner, and her husband in Laguna Beach for over 15 years. Yes, they may not be Nordstrom, where they take anything back, even after you have worn the shoes. They have the best selection, and always have given me good service. I have been in the retail business myself, and it cost me $ 7000 before I opened my door. I can understand, that a small business owner has to have a stricter return policy. When I buy in this store, I wear the shoes at home for a while and if they hurt me, I exchange them, no problem. I would not like to buy used shoes from the sales rack. Who knows if the previous owner had a fungus. I have problem feet after bunion surgery, and Kathy calls me, if she gets a shoe in, that might work for my «poor» feet. I don’t need a high end department store, I need somebody to fit my aching feet with the right shoe. World of Earth works for me.

Well they are definitely not Nordstrom! Today they lost a customer for life! Very disappointed that they don’t stand by their product. Every year I would buy myself at least 2 pairs of shoes from this store until today. Brought back a pair of $ 100 pumps that I wore 3x, killed my feet! But because I wore them«outside» there was nothing they could do?! Wow! Way to stand by your shoes.

RUDE and UNPROFESSIONALATBEST. BUYYOUREARTHSHOESATNORDSTORM’S ORONZAPPOSWHICHBOTHCARRYBETTERSIZES, BETTERSELECTION, BETTERRETURNPOLICY, ANDNOTABRASIVESTOREOWNERS. I bought over $ 800 worth of shoes here in the past 4 months. I have had a number of foot problems which were beyond my control(car accident, surgery, etc.). The owner who was never willing to return my money acted like she was doing me a huge favor letting me exchange the shoes I bought(heels) for other shoes that were less uncomfortable. Maybe if they carried more selection or half sizes or had a decent return policy(i.e, money back within 30 days) then I would not have exchanged the shoes, but they don’t, so I was forced to. Because their hours are limited, and because my family lives near their Laguna store, I tried to exchange some of the shoes I bought in that location. The owner at that location(Mark) was gone during regular business hours, and posted a sign with his number. I called his number repeatedly, and killed time waiting for his return call by visiting the neighbors in the area. The retail neighbors told me he «always closes the store and angry customers wait around». He called me and said he was too busy to return to the store and I should let him know in advance when I intend to shop there. SERIOUSLY? So I gave up. Two weeks later I went to the Huntington Beach store to exchange the shoes. The owner, a woman, had the audacity to say to me that I was«rude, obnoxious, unprofessional» for having called her Laguna partner that day. She said«you buy your shoes here and I already told you Laguna is a small store so what are you doing down there? Besides, the neighbors down there love us». Yeah, right. Not only don’t the neighbors love you, but the customers don’t either. And I have better things to do than deal with a nasty store owner whose stringent return policy forces me into attempting to exchange shoes during their limited hours at their limited locations and then be chewed out for being upset when they’re closed during regular hours. Obviously I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I have bought 4 pair of shoes here. Always enjoyed the service and the quality of the products. I recently bought a pair of shoes that would not be used for a trip a I had planned to take. I brought the shoes back with the receipt within 15 days of purchase. Had a bit of a problem as I was supposed to bring shoes back in the original box. I had left the box at the store to be used for recycling. However, I explained that we agreed that I had done so — as my civic duty and manager agreed upon — and I was offered an credit for another pair of shoes. Manager worked with me, as usual, to find the perfect pair to accommodate my bunion and high arches. Great one on one service! I can understand the frustrations of some earlier reviews. The manager showed me the small sign on the counter that states that the original packaging and receipt must be presented for an exchange. Very visible if the customer is paying attention. Being a senior citizen I admit I don’t always pay attention to the small print. Mea culpa. Maybe, a larger sign and a larger bit of the same information on the receipt would be a good move? This is a small local store that has great products and great service. I will continue to shop and endorse this shop.

Thank you for the two previous reviews. I actually visited the store last night and thought I would go back to try on a couple of pairs of shoes over the weekend. I appreciate the head’s up on the return policy. Should I go back, I will be very careful before I make a purchase.

I purchased three pairs of shoes at the Laguna Store — returned two pair that hadn’t been worn and the third pair I did wear outside so I kept those. I was assured that I could return them if there was a problem due to my chiropractor and back problems. Not the case — shoes returned — and so far no refund. I am notifying this store since it also owns the other store. I stopped in over Labor Day and Mark who works there said he would refund the money for the two pair of shoes I had sent back. So far nothing. What do I have to do to get the refund? If I don’t receive the refund soon I will have to resort to contacting the Better Business Bureau, mayor of the city, and whatever else until the refund appears on my account. Sincerely, Jody McKinney I read all the other complaints from Unilocal — something needs to be done about this business.
