Five star food and service. Five star location. Minor error in food service, manager came over and re ordered the plate that had an error. The entire dish was comped as was an extra wine while waiting for the correct order. Desert comped also. This would be a six star experience if 6 were available. Expensive but worth it.

This review is for Watertable’s brunch! Such an amazing spot for all of my fellow brunch fans out there. Top notch combination of a refreshing beach atmosphere with great flavorful food. Atmosphere/Ambiance: Watertable is located in the Hyatt Regency Resort of Huntington Beach, so it is easy to overlook unless you’re staying in the hotel or digging around online. I usually love restaurants that are set in hotels because it means that you can explore the gorgeous grounds before or after dining. Watertable is no exception. Though we dined in the patio, we were able to walk through the interior of the restaurant which is gorgeous. Lot of dark wood, modern yet cozy vibes. The patio is just as amazing, if not better. Very spacious, lined with umbrellas and fireplaces for shade and warmth for that unpredictable beach weather. You get a view of the ocean which makes for an unparalleled dining atmosphere. Service: Average, server was attentive enough so we weren’t left waiting for anything for too long but nothing outstanding. Food: If you’re looking for something beyond your typical brunch foods(benedicts, scrambles, etc), this is it! They have the most unique breakfast/brunch items, incorporating non-typical flavors and sauces. We ordered the Crab Hash and the Morning Naan. Both were amazing and unlike anything we’ve had anywhere else. The Crab Hash looked small, but was actually pretty filling. It was full of big chunks of delicious crab meat. The Morning Naan was a sweet/savory dish, combining so many delicious flavors that I can’t describe so try it for yourself! I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the dishes here. Definitely a must try and I will for sure come back to try some more items on the menu! Love!

We came here for dinner post Valentine’s Day. Our server Brandon was outstanding. He was very informative, made solid recommendations, and periodically checked on us. He even followed me to the valet after I had forgotten my credit card. The food was excellent as well. I definitely recommend an appetizer of lamb chops. The filet entrée was cooked to perfection. At the end of dinner Brandon also gave us a nice set up of chocolate covered strawberries that they had given to guests the night before. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

INEPTBILLINGSERVICE, EXTREMELYLIMITEDMENUITEMS Menu selection — extremely limited; the entire menu is contained in a 6″ x 11″ board. For a restaurant that serves during lunch hours(we dined on Sunday, 2⁄15), the selections are paltry, even for an «upscale» bar. Billing — INEPT, INCOMPETENT service/staff. First, the cancelled item was charged to my card. When I called it in on Tuesday, the restaurant manager said that the correction will appear on my account within the next 2 days. It did. But the original, incorrect billed amount was NOT credited! Now, I had to make a second call to have the problem corrected(again!). This time, the ‘second’ manager sounds like a female who spent 10 minutes too long under the blow dryer and got not only her hair dried, but her brains fried as well. I felt like I was having a conversation with a teenage first-day manager at a third-rate taco stand. Person had no clue what questions to ask me… I had to spoonfeed her the information, as if I were training her for customer service. First time eating here to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We were unaware of Sunday supper until the hostess called me to confirm our reservation and told me about it. & We had our hearts set on trying the infamous bacon jam. My wife was pretty disappointed about this. Anyho, we had an early reservation, the restaurant seemed so deserted when we were seated. Our server, Mei was very pleasant and gave us good recommendations on our cocktail and entrée selections. My wife and I both ordered the prime rib from the Sunday supper prefixed menu. I opted to have mac and cheese with my meal. My wife chose shoestring fries for hers. The meal came with a salad, brussel sprouts, mushroom and cauliflower vegs to share, jalapeño biscuits(very good) and desserts(which we took back to our room bc we were too stuffed!) The prime rib were cut very thick. & We each got very pink cuts, nearly rare. I like my steak medium, but I think it was too pink and rare for my preference. & I paid for it bad later that night. I didnt prefer the horseradish sauce that came with the prime rib so I asked our server if we can have some au ju instead. She gladly got some from the kitchen, and we were pleased about that. We took most of our food back to the room bc it was just too much food! Sunday supper is shared plates, but its more ideal for a family of 4 or more, not 2 people. It was just too overwhelming for us! We took what we could back to our room. Everything was packed up well for us along with disposable utensils. Our desserts were the pumpkin bundt cake and apple pie. They were good for late night snack. We washed down our meals with a glass of syrah for me and pink cocktail for my wife(forgot what its called, but she liked it). Overall, we had a pleasant experience dining here. The ambiance is nice, rustic look. We sat by the window so we had a view of the fountains. My only gripe about this place was when the people next to us ordered salmon. It had a very foul smell that is a definite«No-No» esp for fish! I guess the guests that ordered it DONOT cook bc they did not complain about the stentch in front of them, but it smelled really bad from our table. I am a chef and know for a fact it shouldnt smell that way. I also cook salmon at home all the time, and it never ever smelled like that. It was so horrible, it made us feel sick walking out of the restaurant. Another con is that I got really sick after we dined here. I couldnt sleep that night, and was vomitting most of the night. I believe it could’ve been food poisoning so watch out! Not a great way to cap our anniversary getaway! Hence, the 3 stars!

Watertable should be your annual splurge in Huntington Beach. The dishes are superb. Though they are a small selection to choose from — never disappoint. It’s a small cozy crowded interior that still feels very calming. Worth the splurge during fall as it’s pretty cozy and dessert is scrumptious. Only con — small portions.

«Watertable Ball Drop for New Years Eve» I begin this review by stating that this was not my first encounter with the restaurant or their NYE events. I attendant last year. I found the 2015NYE event to be less than adequate for an event that would fetch over $ 500 for dinner. We waited 40 minutes to be seated at our table because they were not prepared for the opening time reservations. The food was mediocre at best, served diner style, and my server spent more time on the dance floor than tending to my needs, but took shame in applying a mandatory 18% gratuity to my bill. The foie gras appetizer was ruined by extremely sweet jam, the salad was small and bland, the duck breast was extremely rare and tasteless, and the fish course lacked flavour and originality. Not to mention that the dessert medley was straight from the box and frozen when presented at my table. This was a total«ball drop» in comparison to the previous year the only matter raised was their price, because they fell flat when it came to providing the customer with a memorable NYE experience and upscale service. I would not recommend this establishment for NYE unless you only plan to pay the $ 50 entrance fee for dancing and champagne at midnight, or prepare to pay $ 140 for a $ 35 bottle of Moet, and $ 350 for a five course meal from Denny’s family restaurant, and«drive-by» service. The advertised attire for the event was Studio 54 Classy, but many of the patrons were in beach wear, shorts, sneakers and Dive Bar attire. Never again!

Amazing restaurant. I almost didn’t write a review since I don’t want this place to become too busy for me to get a table. Selfish I know, I am a local in HB what can I say. The menu is creative, the wine list is out of this world. Scallops and rib eye was outstanding and bursting with flavors. The staff are so friendly and professional and they treat you like they want you there. My serves name was Ricardo. What a nice guy. So professional and knowledgable about the menu. We were here for NYE for a party of 6 and had a blast as well. I will come back again and again…

More than I would have expected from a hotel restaurant… We wanted to sit outside but it turned out that it was too cold, so we were accommodated in a small private dining room for no extra charge — a really nice gesture, and certainly contributed to the stars rating. The service also does contribute — we were treated very nicely. The dinner was on a Sunday night so the menu was set up a little differently. Family style salad appetizer, choice of entrée and a selection of sides to share. Interesting, but it worked well. Salads were fresh and crispy in all respects with fresh ingredients and a citrus dressing. Nice palate cleansing start. The entrée was lamb chops and the portion was very large indeed. In addition to the chops being served on a bed of vegetables there were more sides… Salmon and steaks were also thoroughly enjoyed. Desserts were part of the meal and the panacota(SP.) was delicious and light — I am not a huge dessert fan so less sugar and more refreshing taste was a good way to end. Nice place worth visiting whether you are at the hotel or just visiting the area.

Spectacular. My husband and I came here for the first time on our anniversary. We reserved a table online. They sat us right away and accommodated us with a beautiful view of the sunset next to the fountain outside. They set up a heater for us and offered blankets because it was chilly. Our server Sami did a fantastic job; knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and patient. My filet mignon with bacon jam was juicy, flavorful, and tender. The recommended red wine paired wonderfully. The icecream and apple cobbler were superb. They brought us a dessert on the house, decorated for the occasion :) We had a wonderful night, wouldn’t have had it anywhere else!

What a great place to eat! Had dinner here last night and was very happy with the overall experience. The ambiance is very nice and comfortable. The service was also excellent. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and made very good recommendations. Started with the lamb chop appetizer and it was delicious. I had the filet with bacon jam and fries. The steak was cooked perfect and the fires were very tasty. For dessert we had the coffee cake and it was really good. Although it was not inexpensive they do offer a 20% discount for locals which was certainly a winner in my book. They also validate parking for 4 hours. There are not many high end restaurants in HB. This place is definitely worth the price of admission.

It’s a little pricey, but the happy hour specials are a good, solid deal. The food was great! Good drink specials and wine selection, I had the rabbit as the main course, it was buttermilk breaded and fried(not something I usually do, but had to try it). Delicious! We had a very interesting appetizer of cast-iron skillet peppers, they served it with a mildly spicy aoli. Great! The peppers were fairly mild(particularly if you avoid the seeds), and served with shallots and some crispy prosciutto. Small, decent to share amongst two or three, but a very tasty start. They have a great burger that’s served with bacon jam! How can you go wrong with that. I stay in the Hyatt frequently and will love to explore the menu further.

Pleasantly surprised with how beautiful Watertable is, with its large bar area, logia dining area, and exterior patio seating. My gf kept mentioning how nice Watertable is and I was supposed to celebrate my joint birthday dinner here last summer, but backed out. She even celebrated her private wedding announcement dinner here. Great service and recommendations by our server Ricky! :-) Food is impressively executed. We enjoyed our hamachi crudo — very tiny portion($ 12), & fresh smoked beef jerky appetizers. Impressive wine selections. We started with some cocktails. Then we got 4 glasses of the Mount Veeder Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon($ 18 each), cheaper by the glass than bottle? My gf got 4 glasses of chardonnay. yes, we are borderline alcoholics! :-) Then my gf’s hubby got the lettuce wedge with huge bacon chucks. He loved his butchered prime NY steak, medium rare($ 38). My roasted branzino was fresh, light, packed with savory flavors that contrasted with my deliciously sweet cut corn($ 32). My gf got the cedar wood plank roasted salmon and she enjoyed the fish($ 28). We shared additional sides with those delicious earthy mushrooms($ 7) and they got fresh grilled cut white corn side dish too($ 7). Valet parking at Hyatt Hotel, which can get validated upon dining. Oh, and locals get $ 20% off food, but not the alcohol, our bill was over $ 330 + $ 60 tip, but we got $ 27 food discount.

We LOVE this restaurant! It is our new favorite in Huntington Beach. To be honest– I think it’s really the only good restaurant in HB. HB’s best kept secret– come on a nice day, and sit outside near the fountains and watch the sunset. The menu is simple but delicious. Service is exceptional, on par with some of the best restaurants I’ve been to. There are some tourists here and there– but It makes for great people watching. Salmon is delicious. They even have gluten free bread served to you if you can’t have their to-die-for dinner loaf. I cannot find a bad word to say about this place, but if I really had to have one critique it would be the hard butter. There is never a reason to have hard butter. Even though this was fixed with a simple request. A++ Side note: The waitress in the bar area Kirsten is phenomenal. And our server, Bu on our second visit was amazing!

We’ve had a number of wonderful food and service experiences here. Our servers have included Sami, Khan, and Jin Mei — each very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine list. We have also sat at the bar on a couple occasions and experienced their unique bar jars. The menu rotates from time-to-time as it is dependent on local and fresh foods. Our favorite food items have included the Hamachi Crudo, the lamb chops, NY prime steak, wedge salad. Outside seating is extremely comfortable and warm. Inside seating is very spacious and there is plenty of room between tables.
The only«thumbs-down» is the beer menu — it’s short and poor. They have 5 taps that don’t seem to rotate much and are flowing with very average brews. There are 100+ breweries within 100 miles of Watertable so not sure why Stone IPA and others like it are on tap here(in light of their super unqiue food/wine menu).

Mixed feelings. For breakfast id give them 4 stars. If you have join them for breakfast you’ll be pleased with their selection food. I highly recommend siting outside, the view is lovely. The service can use a little polishing in terms of making sure the clients have been taken care of, but over all the staff was great. For dinner, they’re at 2.5 stars. The hostess are not welcoming and they gavel family and I a little attitude. The rest of the staff is great, willing to help and ready to make sure guests are taken care of, although I don’t thing management has divided areas well. We had at least 3 different people helping us through dinner, so we were constantly repeating ourselves. The food selection is good, but be prepared for everything to be extremely salty.

I came here for a company dinner xmas party. The service was top notch. I had amazing cocktails and different types of alchy. The servers were literally always available and checking up on us. The food though was just ok. The main entrée was either halibut or the steak. Go for the steak. The halibut was super smelly, I mean way too smelly to even eat. But everything else was delicious. I Prob wouldn’t the back because it’s out of my price range but for the quality of food, service, ambiance, and décor, it’s definitely worth going to. The alchy was superb though!

Great food! The fish was some of the best I have had all year and I eat fish all over the USA. The salad was presented in a fresh style with whole leaves of lettuce and fresh anchovies. The bread was styled and hot buttered at the table as soon as I asked. They espresso was almost perfect. The meal left nothing to be wanted, I would go there again if ever in the area.
