VENUE by Three Petals

Its WTF Wednesday (a mediocre review on Wed)!!!
Venue by Three Petals used to be AVEC, a nightclub. However, now it is a place to hold wedding receptions, and large events where circular tables, a stage, food, and a bar are required. Venue is located on the Southeast corner of Beach & Ellis in Huntington Beach.
I came here for an Azn b’ness gig. The room had 30 round tables of 10, a dj, a photobooth, the bar, and a 7 course Chinese style banquet.
First of all, the ambiance was OK. There was plenty of room to move about. As you enter, the bar is a U turn to your right, and the stage is straight ahead. The photobooth was to the far left, and the restrooms were near the entrance. Regarding the acoustics, they were pretty bad. There were a couple of singers, and the room is not set up to move the sound around the L-​shaped room. Speaking of the restrooms, they are more fancy vs functional. There was only one bottle of soap, and the toilets and one urinal were all enclosed w/​a door. An odd layout to say the very least: 3 Stars overall.
On the other hand, the service was excellent. The servers were super nice, attentive and efficient. The head person was on top of it, and accommodated a guest at our table who is vegetarian. Our water bottle at our table was constantly being refilled, and empty dishes were removed quickly. Additionally, our waitress was a cutie. The only downside was we were not given fresh plates: 4 Stars.
Lastly, the food for the most part was like Ty Dollar $ign’s recent song: Blasé (blasé blasé). The first two courses (soup & veggies), were both lukewarm when they came out. In addition, the soup was bland. The third and fourth courses (honey walnut shrimp & fried chicken), were actually pretty good. The shrimp were not too mayonnaisey, and the chicken was crispy. However, the fifth dish (garlic noodles w/​shrimp) didn’t have enough garlic. I didn’t stick around for the rice or dessert. Speaking of the menu, there shouldn’t have been two shrimp dishes, as well as a noodle & rice dish. A more suitable course for the fifth dish should have been beef: 3 Stars.
Venue is an OK place to hold a large event, but there is NFW I would host a wedding reception here. The parking lot is dark, and it is shared w/​a hooka bar next door, and a Two Star dive bar across the lot. Your relatives would be talking $hit about you during the event, and a long time afterwards if you decided to hold your reception here. This place was one step away from a TST like AVEC its predecessor.

The VENUE by Three Petals should be the top priority for anyone looking to book an event. Its vibrant and classy, modern yet elegant décor always leaves guests amazed. I’ve attended a few events here: from its Grand Opening, to the Halloween bash, and NYE party — every time I’ve had an stellar night. Not only is the event space very visually pleasing, but its also a treat for the taste buds as well. On the grand opening night, I had the pleasure of trying some of the chef’s creations: innovative Asian-​American fusion cuisine that combines traditional flavors of the East with avant-​garde, bold influences of the West. But what really sets this place apart is its staff: weddings and parties sure can get quite hectic, but the professional and attentive personnel is always on point. ⁵⁄₅ for the venue itself, ⁵⁄₅ for the staff, and ⁵⁄₅ for the food – really looking forward to the next festivity I attend here at the VENUE!

Last Saturday night, my organization had our annual dinner gala at the Venue by Three Petals. I saw pictures of the place, but when I arrived in person, its a really cool place. The dinner menu was Chinese food and I was a little unsure how good the Chinese food would taste that night, but to my surprise, it was quite tasty. I would say it was almost like the Chinese food you eat in Monterey Park, Alhambra, SGV. I’ve been to many banquets in the past and most of the time the waiters just plop your food on the table and don’t say anything to you, however the wait staff was quite outgoing and friendly. A big shout out to Jennifer and her efficient staff at the Venue. Whenever I or others in our group needed anything, they got our request promptly. Hope my organization will have more events at the Venue.

Booked a private event here. Thank you Cat, Jen and the team for being prompt and easy to work with. Would def recommend this venue for any type of wedding/​party/​work event!

We have been working with Cat since last year to plan our wedding and it has been such a wonderful experience. The team here is very helpful and responsive. They have walked us through the process many times without any hesitation. They worked to accommodate all of our requests and random drop-by’s. This venue and staff is the best! With our wedding around the corner they have made it very painless. We are excited and cant wait to see everything come together.

I went to my girl friend’s wedding in October and had a very great experience with the modern interior, delicious food and friendly service. We had a great time!!!

Wedding planning may be the toughest thing I have ever had to do in my life. It is the people around you that makes it easier. Cat Chu and Team has been the best that we could have asked for. From the details of the food tasting to schedules and set up, they have been very accomodating. We requested several times on short notice to come by for planning and they were always welcoming. Their customer service has been above and beyond. We want and suggest for anyone and everyone to come and have their beautiful day here!

Hosted two events here for a school/​professional event and enjoyed working with the staff. Although it may have been difficult to accommodate such restricted budgets, being a school organization, the venue coordinators were always willing to help. The presentation of the event was by far more than we expected and the professionals and students enjoyed the event very much.
P. s. Their flowers and decorations are amazing!

Got to spent my new year eve here. and I am glad to say I am happy to end the year at the venue! Thank you venue for making it a memorable night. Music was on point and so was the service ! 5 stars across the board and will recommend this to others!

Attended a RockStars Music vocal and instrumental recital here, and it was less than enjoyable. Horrible acoustics for live music with booming echo, as well as the most uncomfortable chairs I’ve ever sat in. The bartender was friendly, at least.

Probably the best place to host an Asian Style wedding in Orange County. The place is beautiful, modern and new with great ambiance. Guests really enjoyed the food by Chef Stephanie. Cat the owner and Jenn the coordinator were accommodating and attentive. Emails and calls were always promptly answered.

Just had my wedding here last month and ooooh weeee what an awesome party it was! I was a bit skeptical that they would be able to accommodate my 430 guest count… but they made it work and it was perfectly fine!!! We had 44 tables actually, and there was plenty of wiggle room in my opinion. As many of you know, this place used to be a club, but honestly there was no trace of the Limelight/​V20/​Shark club days. The Venue has completely transformed into a modern, chic, and sophisticated events center. The food catered by S Fine Dining was AH-​Mazing!!! My guests kept telling me it was the best wedding food they have ever tasted, and boy were we glad to hear that! We are huge foodies so to us, food was everything. We had a tasting beforehand and we were thrilled to have the traditional 7 course meal with a modern twist to it. The old folks and young folks thoroughly enjoyed it, and I am so glad I went with the upgraded entrees. My favorite was the Sea Bass, the traditional lobster, and the cold platter.
Cat was great about responding to my emails, and Jenn the day of coordinator was so sweet and receptive. I read several negative comments where Unilocalers were unable to reach someone to get a quote. I think demanding responses the next day from vendors is unrealistic, and I learned that the hard way when going through the wedding planning process. Typical response rate is anywhere from 3 – 5 days and I respect that these vendors have other jobs they tend to as well. Would definitely recommend this Venue if you’re sick and tired of the usual hotels and Chinese restaurants in the OC. Be patient and give yourself plenty of time to plan. Our wedding was truly one of a kind — and I cannot thank you enough!

I checked out the Venue for their Halloween party and had a great time. I got there about 10pm and didn’t wait too long to get in. Drink prices were reasonable and I was able to actually move around inside since they didn’t overcrowd the place unlike the local bars/​clubs.
Overall, the place had great interior/​exterior design and most importantly the place was clean. It was definitely a great alternative to celebrate Halloween rather than going to LA/​Vegas.

The place looked nice on the outside but I did not like the layout inside. They were really unprepared to throw an event, such as the Halloween party.
We spent about $ 7000 on bottle service, and never really had any chasers, always running out of cups, had really bad seats, etc.

I’m so fucken pissed! Fucken place ruin Halloween. We were in line for over an hour. And we were there early! I hate this place! Will never ever come back!

If I can give zero stars, I would. The owners, or whoever it is that works here, are the most unresponsive, unprofessional and frankly disrespectful individuals. Not only do they take 5 days to respond to emails, their answers are never enough and we have made 2 appointments and both were not honored! I live in LA and drove all the way to Huntington Beach for a 9AM appointment, and guess what? NO ONE WAS THERE! How dare they disrespect my time like that? We are BEYOND frustrated with the owners and can’t imagine how anyone does business with them. So unprofessional.

The interior of Venue was amazing! Modern & adorable décor for the event I attended. They were really creative with the floral arrangements I noticed. The food offered was a good range of different types including desserts as well. All really delicious and appealing. The staff was professional and friendly. Usually I get intimated by large events but The Venue set it up to be very warm and welcoming!

This place exceeded my expectations. When my friend invited me here for a wedding I was a bit skeptic since I remembered this used to be Avac nightclub and I really didn’t like that club at all. However when I entered the «Venue» I was left surprised (in a good way). It was simply beautiful. The set up was very marvelous. Both the ceremony and reception were held here and they did an amazing job of hosting.
There was maybe 50 tables here, it was a really big wedding and the «Venue» accomodated for everyone. For the food they served walnut shrimp, lobster noodles, chicken salad, and then things got extremely hazy and I could not remember anymore LOL.
Overall this is a great location for parties, weddings, events, etc… I highly would recommend. Parking is not bad at all either. The only downside is that it is too nice to be located inside this complex.
