I’m a groomer in Las Vegas and work at a shop very similar to Top Dog, and accidentally stumbled upon this shop a few months ago while strolling through Huntington Beach with my son. Met the owner and got some good vibes from her and loved the cleanliness, location, and products sold in the store. All USA made foods, treats, and toys, boutique items, grooming, bakery AND day care! Make a day out of this place with your pup and hit up the dog beach, main street for lunch, then a stop here to spoil your pup. I’ve seen MANY grooming/​bakery shops in my career and this one was one of the best. The bakery is a little small but from talking to the owner Kathy they just moved to this location and are still working on the ins and outs and expanding. Bought a trachea for our pup, and can’t wait to stop in again on our next visit to Huntington! I cannot comment on the grooming as I did not use those services but AS a groomer this is definitely a place I would want to work at just based on location, cleanliness, high end quality products, and positive vibes! Go check it out!

Lady at counter didn’t even greet me and there was only one other customer in the store. I was looking for a new place to purchase my Stella & Chewy food, a toy and some treats for my three pets but was turned off by her lack of friendliness and being glanced at on occasion still without acknowledging me or asking what brought me into the store today. Definitely won’t be back. Three stars because the product in store was great at least…

We love this new location. The store is large and really nicely designed. The treats are fresh and according to my Roxy DELICIOUS. They have a lot of really cute/​unique items for sale and tons of super fun events. They support Rescue Groups.
And they validate your parking at Pacific City!

Very cute place. I wish I would of known of the daycare on this trip. I think next time we will take advantage of their 3 hour play dates for the pups since this time we had to do things that we could do with the pups.
I love their collar selection and their dog treats looked almost too good to be dog treats.
Cannot wait to go back to this area.

I have to say that I am so impressed with Top Dog Barkery. I am new to the area so I needed to find a new groomer for my Pomeranian, Lola. The staff is very friendly and the groomer, Lisa, took the time to learn about my dog and truly understand the haircut I was looking for. When I picked up Lola, her haircut was so cute! Lisa did an excellent job. Lisa (and the staff) interacted with my dog very well and treated her like she was one of their own. Lola also received a complimentary bacon cupcake after her grooming service, which she loved! This is definitely going to be my new go-​to grooming and doggie day care. Thank you, Top Dog, for everything!

This was my first trip to Pacific City. I was worried how the parking was going to be but I got lucky with a spot right in front of the store. This place is great! So many fun, cute, creative treats/​goodies for your fur baby. I picked up a couple of cookies from the bakery, it was hard to pick just one. The employee wasn’t the most welcoming.
Honestly other than that I loved my first experience here. I can’t wait to come back and check out all the other things this place has to offer

I first found this place after a trip to the dog beach. Convenient location, right on PCH! I stopped in for a snack for my fur baby and ended up getting a handful of treats to take home. The entire store is full of goods to choose from and great prices! The following week was my pup’s birthday so I ended up ordering his birthday cake and party favors. Cain loved it! Would most definitely recommend!

What an exceptionally wonderful doggie heaven. Husband and I stopped while driving around town on our trip to LA.
We went in and got some doggie treats for our little pup. Priced reasonably they not only sound delicious but look appetizing. They have soft and hard treats along with other soft and toys. Basically any thing dog related.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Our Philly baby loved her birthday party treats and so did our other little babies. We will definitely be back for more. The staff was AMAZING and this is my new favorite doggy spot.

There’s so many options and fresh baked goods for my dog. I got him soft salmon bites and a peanut butter banana cupcake and I believe he liked it… A LOT. It took him all of 30 seconds to chow it down.

I take my dog here every year on her birthday to shop for birthday cake, treats and supplies, and it’s becoming our tradition. They make some of the best real birthday cakes for dogs in the Orange County area. The treats are delicious just as they look! Their dog costumes are the cutest ever, very well made and beautiful! Staffs are always so kind and nice to my dog as well. Thank you Top Dog Barkery, my dog is very spoiled today :)

All their baked items have been a huge hit with my dog. She loves visiting and receiving lots of love. I’m very sad about the location change. They are much further from us now and the parking garage at the new location is not only very expensive but poorly designed. Unfortunately because of this we are unable to visit as often as we’d like.

The best dog bakery I’ve ever been too. They have so many adorable options for cakes and treats. They even have pre-​made cakes so you don’t have to order a small cake ahead of time. I walked in and they had a big selection to choose from and they even wrote on it. Prices are reasonable in comparison to other dog bakeries. Treats also last for a week so your dog can eat both the cake and treats in moderation over time. They have everything you need for your dogs too — leashes, kibble, toys, birthday accessories. Definitely super friendly and helpful service from the staff. Will definitely be back!

Great dog barkery! Easy parking & they validate! Lots of high quality k9 toys, food, and treats! They also offer k9 sitting at an awesome price, so you can go dine & shop, at those places that aren’t as k9 friendly as they should be!

I’m one of those people. I have fur babies, and I treat them like they’re my kids. no shame in that. take a stroll around HB near the beach and you’ll see plenty of other people just like me, doting on their pups. So when I saw Top Dog Barkery on a drive home from Newport a few weeks back, I made a mental note to come back and check them out, as they’re located in the new Pacific City center that I also wanted to check it. Convenient, ey? I opted to park in the parking garage, as it was like $ 5 for parking in front of their store. slightly ridiculous, and it was only for 30 minutes if I’m not mistaken? Anywho.
Located off of 1^st St, behind Equinox, Top Dog Barkery is not only an über cute little bakery, but they also have an array of accessories, leashes, beds, toys, and food for your pups. And, they have a grooming parlor too! When I stopped in, it was later in the evening, and there was nobody inside except for myself, the two ladies working there and one other customer. I browsed the front of the shop (which is mostly toys, beds, and leashes), and checked out some of their doggie items for their pet owners (magnets, memorial stones, picture frames), before making my way over to the little bakery counters by the cash registers. In regards to the leashes, harnesses and collars — they had a decent selection, but I didn’t really feel like they were well organized. They had mostly mesh harnesses, and seemed to be for smaller doggies. Great, but I was looking for one for my pit, not my chihuahua. I’ll try my luck again with that some time soon. They had tons of stuffed toys that Nala would easily rip apart, and they were also sort of pricey. The tougher toys were awesome, but if have to bring her in to see which one would be best for her as she’s so picky with the toys she will play with. Thankfully they had a nice selection of stronger toys. The left side of the store is all different brands of dog foods, ranging from large to small bags, with at least 30 different brands. I didn’t check their pricing as I’d just gotten a new bag of food, so it wasn’t really on my list at the time. But good to know if I’m in a pinch, that I CAN get their food from here. They have a grooming parlor in the back of the shop, but I didn’t get a chance to see their prices or packages offered :/​but I’d probably bring my girls in for a bath, especially after a post beach play day.
But what I was really there for was their barkery. I mean, bakery. I LOVE to spoil my girls, but I hate the nasty products that are in most commercial dog foods and treats. So I was pretty excited as I was reading the labels for their treats and names like «Apple & Oats heart shaped cookie» «bacon and peanut butter.» «oats, bananas and peanut butter» etc etc. basically the «people» foods that are safe for dogs (^_​^). I wasn’t too sure what my girls would like as these treats were more decorated then the pupcakes that I’ve gotten them before from Frosted and Sprinkles, or their regular Blue Buffalo treats. I opted for the bacon heart shaped biscuits and a large heart shaped apples and oats biscuit as well, all for $ 5.40(that includes tax). While paying, I signed up for their rewards program through Belly, which rewards you with goodies for your pup. I shop for my dogs as much as I shop for myself, if not more haha. I really loved that the treats weren’t outrageously priced as you’ll find with many specialty dog stores similar to Top Dog. They also offer doggie birthday cakes! I thought that was so freaking cute! I will definitely be getting a small cake for our girls barkdays, because we love them that much lol. and they were also well priced, especially for the sizes. 4 sizes available, 2 rounds cakes (5 inch/​$ 22, 7inch/​$ 28) and 2 bones (6inch/​$ 32, 12inch/​$ 34). Cakes are frosted and with a complimentary «Happy _​_​Birthday _​_​_​_​!» (fill in the blanks with your pups age and name). Place your order at least 4 days in advanced, they will actually host a barkday pawty for your furbaby and some of their friends. each pup in attendance at the pawty gets a yummy treat and goodie bag too! how cool is that?! Not to mention they also have a doggie day care with several options that are suitable for everyone. and they’re decently priced for the length of time offered as well. They have options from 2 hours to over 6 hours, and over 6 hours is $ 38. Pretty freakin awesome if you ask me :)
The gal at the cash register was super sweet and friendly, so I was glad that I didn’t have any of the not so fabulous customer service experiences that other Unilocalers have had. I’m grateful as I really did like this shop, and I can’t wait to drag le BF and the furbabies down here to check them out as well! If you’re in the area, stop buy! Especially if you love to spoil your pups like I do. Cute shop, good service, great prices. 4 stars for now :)

Zoe LOVES Top Dog Bakery and they always treat her like the Princess she is!!! They always greet her with a treat or two or three…
This place is so cute, Zoe loves to look around before making her purchase… then she goes up and looks at all the wonderful puptreats in the display case, the pumpkin cookie and pupcakes are her favorites… okay let’s be real, she LOVES all the pupcakes (takes after her momma). Zoe give Top Dog Bakery two paws up!

I have been to their Newport location just curious on my dogs birthday, gotta say this company is amazing! Got a cute mug and amazing conditioner for my boys that I have to order more.

So I guess I’m officially one of THOSE people…
Stopped in for the first time today with one of my pups Mickey. I was instantly asked if Mickey could have a treat and when I told her that he was allergy boy she found a treat that he could try. We ended up buying a red velvet pupcake and a peanut butter cake. Mickey loved both of them and our other dog Jerry does too.
Are they pricey? Not any more pricey than a Pet Supply in my opinion — plus, isn’t it our job to spoil our dogs — especially when they are your kids… I probably won’t go there for food etc. because we have our food shipped in from Washington state (see above-​referenced allergy boy); but it’s a nice little stop over to grab a treat on our weekend walk around downtown — $ 2 to $ 3 is not going to break the bank. The treats are so cute that they really are just as much for us humans as well. The display is like going into a human bakery — adorable.
After the way we were treated today we will definitely make this a stopover. Mickey gives it 5 dog bones!

Super cute puppy store. Not somewhere I would go for my essentials (dog food, grooming supplies). They have high end treats and toys, as well as daycare, a bakery and full-​service grooming spa. A very cute addition to Pacific City!

With the location at Pacific City they definitely have an advantage but with their current customer experience, they will eventually be at a disadvantage. I went for my first time after my dad referred the business. After spending $ 18+ on dog treats, I soon realized the business owner had great relationships with the person before and after me. As I am paying, the previous customer and customer behind me were BOTH offered a complimentary dog treat while I was not offered one. Not to mention, I was cut off during my purchase while registering to have a rewards membership so the cashier could offer these free treats to her «friend.» It’s not about the monetary value but the principle of the experience. I will kindly take my business to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and purchase my dog treats. Never will I return.

Parking — sucks. We paid $ 5.00 for 30 minutes. Not even exaggerating. I wish I still had the ticket but I already threw it away. We didn’t park in the garage. We parked in front of their store.
Customer service — they were very nice & helpful. They were NOT pushy or in your face. They gave my pup a few treats to try too & i thought that was very kind.
They have a fairly good amount of dog stuff to select from. Stuffed animals, treats, cakes, cookies, toys, clothing, etc.
I will definitely be bringing my fur baby here again in the near future! ;)

Large store, lots of variety from dog treats to toys, but the service was incredibly unfriendly. As an enthusiast for quality ingredients, I asked what was in the treats and was not given a straight answer by the woman working the counter. Her answers were short and rude and I was caught off guard by her resistant tone. I walked out and left. Maybe good for other customers looking for a convenient neighborhood pet store, but I would really appreciate going to a store that wants to serve its customers despite detail-​oriented questions that could be perceived as nitpicky. I really care what I’m feeding my animals, and I wouldn’t want artificial dyes or ingredients in their treats. Perhaps the ingredients are high-​quality ingredients, but I didn’t even get the chance to find it out because the woman seemed rude and dismissive. I felt like an inconvenience to the woman who, sadly, I think may have been the owner after reading other’s reviews. It was a sad experience that I hope other customers don’t have.

I stumbled across this store while shopping with my puppy. Wow what a great place. The employee are so nice and helpful. I ended up buying a dog harness that I love. My dog loved the treats as well. I will definitely be back soon.

I came here a couple months ago for my German Shepherd’s 6^th birthday and ordered a cake for her ahead of time.
When we got there and the cake was still frozen, I was taken aback because I was planning on giving it to her that day and it was pretty solid.
For the size of the cake, it was pretty expensive, but my pup liked it so it was okay for a once in awhile birthday kind of thing.
My concern was that I called to ask about the pup birthday parties and they said I could come in and receive treat bags –_​– but to our disappointment, didn’t receive any for our babies.
We dragged 3 dogs and a Bengal cat to this place and it was a waste, especially because this shop was so small and all they got was a single treat covered in what looked like whip cream. Next time, I’m just going to bake my own birthday cake!

My dog just turned 1 this past weekend so I took her here for some treats. They are located a few doors down from Sprinkles. Keep in mind that in order to get a cake, you do have to pre-​order about 3 days in advance, so I got my dog the Happy Birthday biscuit, along with 2 other treats and a birthday hat. The total came out to be about $ 22. Pricey, but worth it once in a while. The girl helping us was super sweet and knowledgeable too. She gave my dog some treats and my dog couldn’t stop following her around! Haha.
A tiny concern I have is that I was under the impression these treats are made only for dogs, but apparently it’s made of ingredients that humans can eat too. I wasn’t sure if Queenie’s little tummy would be okay with that but she loves her treats so I will be back!

This place is awesome! They are quick when it comes to getting cakes made, and the cakes are adorable! Not to mention delicious, my pup loved it! They also have a little store inside full of cute toys, outfits, leashes, collars, more desserts, etc. for your pup. We will definitely be back. Our Jeter had a great first birthday thanks to them! I recommend the peanut butter cake!

We ordered 3 cakes for my 3 dogs birthday and pick up at different time. They are very nice and willing to work with you. My dogs love the 1^st cake: peanut butter and banana. We can wait for the 2^nd.
P.S: My sister and I actually tasted a tiny bite of the cake to test it out. Safety check! It tastes like normal cake without sugar and it’s safe

I have a 9 year old maltese that has spent his entire life getting really ugly haircuts until I went to Brad! He is the most amazing groomer. Most groomers would cut my dog too short and shave his eye area making him look much older than his age. Brad cuts to perfection and my dog literally looks so youthful because of his hair cut. In addition to his skilled cutting, Brad is professional and very gentle. My dog had back surgery and Brad never retrains him and has been so accommodating to my dogs needs. I drive from LA to Newport just to go to Brad. I can’t express how exceptional he is! If you want someone you can trust that will do a great job-​go to Brad!

If half stars were possible, I actually would want to rate this place 3.5 stars.
I recently went here to order a birthday cake for my parents’ dog. I ordered a 5 inch round cake (to be shared among 4 dogs) a week in advance. Price is a little steep for a relatively small cake, but the example pics I was shown when I was ordering the cake seemed to be of good quality/​nicely decorated that I suppose the price was somewhat warranted.
It was ready a week later in the time frame promised. I was told upon pick up that the cake was «a little frozen» but to give it a «little time and it should be okay.» It didn’t really matter that it was still frozen because we weren’t actually going to serve the cake until the following day. I kept it in the fridge overnight and much to my disappointment the next day, discovered the icing had cracked. Yes, cracked. It also just full on slid off the cake itself. It straight up wasn’t even ‘attached’ to the cake anymore. Disappointing!
As for their other bakery items, I bought a biscotti-​type treat for my own 2 dogs and a couple donut-​type treats. The biscotti treat was really hard — hard enough that I had a bit of a struggle breaking it into two for my 2 corgis to share. I do like the presentation of their bakery items though, and some are reasonably priced.
TL;DR: Cakes are pricey for somewhat dodgy quality, but nicely decorated and the dogs loved the taste. Other bakery items are nicely presented, and most are reasonably priced. Would I be back? Most likely, but only because it’s the closest dog bakery to me. I’m hoping any future cake I order will be of much better quality.

Clean and posh establishment next to Sprinkles cupcakes. We got a cupcake and large dog bone looking biscuit that said «happy birthday» for our puggy.
Kind of pricey but it’s to be expected for a specialty item such as this. We saved the items in the fridge for a day and couple things we noticed: The cupcake icing was pretty oily, so we took this part off (I know, the good part!). Also, the biscuit we bought was really really hard. Too hard for a pug with their flat face and small teeth to handle, so we had to break it up for him.
Other than that, service was nice and friendly. I inquired about the cakes and was told a 3 day preorder was required for cakes.

One of my doggy’s favorite places in Orange County! With a wide assortment of delicious dog treats, its the equivalent for my dog of a confectionery/​candy store for a fatty like me. So much variety to select from, all freshly made on the day.
For my dog’s birthday, I bought a nice peanut butter cake customized with his name. They took the order same day, though it is usually their policy to call in advance one or two days. I appreciated that very much, being the procrastinator that I am.
Great local small business in the busy plaza run by great and friendly staff! A must visit for any dog or pet owner!

It was my dogs’ 1^st bday so I obviously want to get them a special treat for their special day so that’s how I found this place. When I first walked into the store, the owner and worker happily welcomed my dog. Totally bonus points for that. They were even offered a treat. Extra bonus point.
They didn’t have a lot of «Happy Birthday» treats available. The only one they had was a hard biscuit which my dogs usually don’t like so I settled for a square PB cake that was still cute. They were super helpful with assisting me because I was clueless. They even let the dogs taste the frosting to see if they liked it. Price wasn’t too bad for the treats.
I saw that they make birthday cakes so that might be an option next year. I would recommend this place to buy your dogs something special.

I rescued a sweet little Doxie-​Pin from the Irvine Animal Care Center about 2.5 weeks ago. It has been both stressful and challenging to get him to eat and drink regularly. I am constantly trying to find the best and most appealing foods to entice his hunger.
Yesterday was my dog’s first birthday, and I simply searched online for dog bakeries to buy him a couple treats and cupcakes (hoping he’d eat them). Based on the reviews of Top Dog Barkery, I made it a point to visit, and, boy, am I ever THRILLED! It was a successful hit!
For starters, this place has all kinds of FUN stuff! Everything from specialty treats, food, bones, toys, clothes, bath/​feeding supplies, etc. It’s all CUTE. And yes, as you may have guessed, some of the items are significantly over-​priced, but you pay for the uniqueness and the quality (in my opinion, so I don’t particularly mind). Loved the selection.
The moment I walked in, an extremely friendly and cheerful associate approached us with treats. My dog gobbled them up! I was appalled! I couldn’t believe how he responded to the treats (he rarely eats treats at home). I told the associate what was going on with my dog, and she offered him a Stella & Chewy’s beef patty. Again, he instantly scarfed it all down!
We made our way to the bulk treats section (which was awesome, by the way) where I was allowed to give my dog samples to try before purchasing. They were $ 8.99/pound, and I created a mixed-​bag of peanut butter bones, veggie/​beef/​chicken bones, and cheesy crackers. I purchased a Beef Cupcake and a Cheese Cupcake (so sorry, I don’t remember the cute and proper names!). In addition, I got a 5.5 oz. bag of Stella & Chewy’s Beef Patties.
As dramatic as this may sound, I CANNOT begin to tell you how THANKFUL I am for the associate’s help (I forgot her name, also, sorry!) in helping me to find the right food for my finicky little dog! I haven’t seen him eat like THIS. He is finally eating right with the Stella & Chewy’s brand of raw dog food. This stuff is superb! A raw diet seems to be the best solution for us. The fresh and beautiful cupcakes were devoured in no time, as soon as we got home. I would definitely say that my dog had a wonderful 1^st birthday! THANK YOU!

I pre-​paid for a large, dog bone shaped cake for my dogs 14^th birthday. It was $ 38. Being that this is the only place in OC I could find that makes such cakes, it made sense to me that it cost this much and I had to go drive into fancy fashion island land to retrieve it. No pun intended on the retrieving.
I was having a small get together and had an image of a birthday hat to go along with the cake. I walk in and guess what! There’s the perfect hat and even a bandana to match.
I go to pay for only the two items since I pre-​paid the cake and it was $ 32. Really? I had to ask … and yes, really! lol.
The customer service was great, my dog loved her cake, and it was overall a great experience. Just get ready to spend … oh the things we do for our animals, right?!

So I came here this past sunday to get some treats for little Toby. and what do you know? They were have WOLVES as special guests in their store! I had the privilege to meet two and take pictures with beautiful wolves! Never in a million years would I think I would be able to say that! haha Anyway its a cute little store with adorable little stuff for you little love bugs. They also have little cupcakes that Toby just loooves! He ate up their sample like there was no tomorrow! We ended up buying 4 cupcakes and two biscuits for our other little doggies at home as well. And they alll loved it! I will definitely be back for some more goodies for little Tobes when I am in the area!
The owner is really nice as well! She was so friendly and very welcoming! She saw Toby and literally held him like he was hers while I shopped and played with the wolves. haha Great Store! And love the environment! Will def. be back!
