Nathaniel, Frances, Michael and their excellent team catered my wedding. It was outstanding in every way and I couldn’t have been more pleased.
From the early planning stages I received great communication and care from them. Always attentive and really interested in collaborating and finding creative solutions to every aspect of the day. They seemed as interested as I was that the day be perfect.
The food was excellent. Nathaniel is a great chef with excellent attention to every detail. The food looked beautiful, and even more importantly, tasted fabulous. Several guests made a point to tell me that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Nathaniel created a lunch/​brunch, with made to order eggs, out of this world bacon (I don’t know how he made it even more delicious than bacon normally is!), several delicious salads, salmon tartines, and the star of the show was a banh mi station where guests could create their own from an array of delicious ingredients. People were bowled over by it!
Michael designed lovely table settings and a beverage bar that was beautiful and totally in harmony with my overall design vision.
They also work with a baker who created the wedding cake. It was superb.
I was very nervous about finding the right caterer for my big day and had talked with several other caterers before them, and was feeling very discouraged and concerned because none of the companies I spoke with seemed to care, and didn’t seem to be willing to work with me to figure out how to make it exactly what I wanted. I used to run my own catering company years ago, and so am very picky and quite knowledgeable when it comes to food and layout and customer service, etc. What a huge relief when I found The Prince and Pantry! The met and exceeded all my expectations.

The Prince & Pantry served phenomenal food with grace, joy, over the top staff and the chef is the cream of the crop! Serving alongside his team is Michael, event coordinator extraordinaire who made our night even more wonderful.

I tried this place at a recent event in Orange County. My memory keeps going back to the two pastries: the red velvet cake and raspberry pomegranate jello-​ish pastry thingy. The cake (or is it a cake) was one of the best I have ever eaten in my entire life and I hate red velvet as the color threw me off. But, not this one. They jelly pastry are out of this world. Those who work in this event were friendly and willing to explain everything to me. Definitely highly recommended!

The Prince & Pantry were hired for our company’s HR team building event and they were awesome! They were very accommodating finding a place close enough to work that our employees didn’t have to drive too far. We were still a bit late and they still smiled when we walked in the door! Professional, helpful, fun, and friendly!
We had the Pasta 101 class and it was so much fun to try our hands at making pasta. Not too many real cooks in our group but amazing enough (along with lots of assistance from the Prince team) we had some pretty good dishes :-)
A definite must for any event, whether it be catering or a class.

I highly, highly recommend Nathaniel and his team for any cooking need. They cooked a very special family dinner for 17 and then prepared breakfast and lunch options during the week. Absolutely everything was exactly on time and delicious. Nathaniel and his team were also incredibly accommodating for our moving family. We will vacation again in Newport, mainly because I can count on Nathaniel’s team and excellent food.

I had The Prince & Pantry come and cook again for my husband’s birthday party for the 2^nd year in a row and the team did another amazing job! This time around we had Amy as head chef along with her team (Frances, Dillon, Amanda). Amy provided a unique Asian fusion buffet dinner spread with emphasis on delicious yakitori skewers, sliders, and noodles that fed 11 adults and 9 kids. Frances also did an awesome job with the bite sized desserts (red velvet mini cupcakes, raspberry tarts, and Meyer lemon donut holes). Everyone LOVED the food/​desserts and the presentation was awesome! As always, Amy and team were very flexible, courteous, and helpful from pre-​party planning weeks/​days prior through end of night clean up at the house.
My family and I have also been fortunate enough to have Amy as our personal chef preparing and cooking healthy yet delicious weekly meals in our home over the past year. She is such a joy to be around and a talented chef who has introduced us to all different food types we would have never tried on our own. We always enjoy the personalized weekly dishes and desserts she makes for us (adults) and our kids; all with a healthy and flavorful spin. Nathaniel, Eddie, and Frances have also cooked for us certain weeks when covering for Amy. We have also enjoyed their weekly meal preparations as they are all unique in their own cooking style/​talents and ALWAYS professional.
Thanks so much Amy and The Prince & Pantry team for making dinnertime joyful/​stress free during the week and for making our dinner parties so memorable and delicious!!!

I was attending the 2015 Northern Trust Open, located at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, and had access to the Green Room, which the Prince and the Pantry was selling food at.
It was 11:30, and I figured it would be ideal to get some food before it got later, and the crowd got bigger. I asked Nathaniel for recommendations, and he said the Pot Roast sandwich, the Fresh Cheddar Biscuits, and the Ultimate Banana pudding were the most popular. The choices sounded great, and I ordered what he suggested.
Every single item was delicious! I loved the pot roast sandwich, which was pure comfort food inside a perfectly toasted baguette. It came with a side of creamy dill sauce, but I ate the sandwich just as it was.
Stephen especially loved the biscuits and pudding. He kept raving how great the biscuits were, so much that he went to Nathaniel afterwards to tell him how much he liked it.
Even as we were eating the biscuits, people were asking us where we got them, and we directed them to the right window.
The banana pudding also lived up to its name. it was ULTIMATE! We ate through the layers of the pudding, through the custard-​y goodness, to the peanut butter layer, to the chocolate layer. This isn’t your simple banana pudding.
The total came to just over $ 23, which is a real bargain, especially at a golf tournament venue.
I cannot find any fault in the food, service, or prices… 5 stars.

The Prince and Pantry can help you! Nathaniel and his team are excellent. I was in a bind over the holidays with needing assistance with a holiday dinner and Eddie came to the rescue. He saved the night and made the food amazing and cleaned up our kitchen to help in the next day’s ease of putting everything back to its proper place. Thank you!

For the second year in a row, The Prince & Pantry team did an amazing job catering our December holiday party. Not knowing what we wanted, we put our palates in Nathaniel’s hands who led us to an amazing menu which was flawlessly executed by the team. Frances, Amy, Eddie, Alie, and Erica, you were all amazing!!! From last minute additions to sudden gluten-​free requirements, adjusting our dinner schedule to accommodate late comers & keeping us focused on the actual event, I cannot say enough about great the night went.
Thank you all for making our night such a success and can’t wait for next year!

Nathaniel and his staff made our entire Christmas Day meal perfect! From the beginning to the end, he was professional and timely. When he said Erica would deliver at 230 on Xmas Eve she was there at exactly 230!
The food was delicious and the instructions easy to read and follow! I will use the Prince in the Pantry for all my catering needs!

I contacted Prince and Pantry because we were vacationing from the east coast and I was planning a surprise engagement to my boyfriend. I contacted them, mainly because they had amazing reviews. From the beginning they were friendly, professional and kind. I was assigned Frances (Chef) for our intimate dinner at our vacation home. She was amazing — I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, but I did know what I didn’t want — and she was able to maneuver my crazy and create, prepare and execute the best dinner I have EVER had. (I live in NYC — so I am accustom to delicious meals and culinary experiences.)
Frances handled everything for me — all we had to do was eat and then propose!
Prince and Pantry created an experience for usthat was incredibly special — although I can’t call it, «once in a lifetime» — because now I will use them whenever I am in CA.

Chef Nathaniel prepared a 9 course tasting menu for 18, in addition to some unbelievable appetizers to start. We worked with Nathaniel to plan a menu that represented our favorite dishes from a recent trip to China. Chef Nathaniel and his team were incredibly professional, easy to work with and a pleasure to have in our home. As a bonus, the kitchen was left spotless. Our friends are raving about the food and party! It couldn’t have been a bigger success! We look forward to working with Nathaniel and his team again soon!

We very much enjoyed our special birthday celebration dinner. Amy did an outstanding job on the menu as well as meal preparation. Erica was also super in taking care of the guests and made sure all were happy.
Excellent reviews by all guests. I know we will be using The Prince & Pantry for our parties in the future!
It was a very relaxing event. Everything was on time, food was excellent, wine glasses were always full and a clean kitchen was left behind. Amy and Erica created a super evening for our dinner party. I highly recommend their service!

After much research I picked these guys to come make a special dinner for my husband’s 40^th birthday. It was just the two of us, so I was a little afraid it would be weird to have a stranger in the kitchen without a big group of people around, but I need not have worried. Amy was awesome! Worked with me on the menu and showed up a few hours before dinner ready to go.
First course was Cajun seared tuna with apple jicama slaw and was fan-​freaking-​tastic! Perfectly done. Husband loved it too.
Main course was ribeye steak on puréed potatoes with asparagus ribbons — excellent as well, large portions, well-​seasoned.
Dessert was amazing; banana chocolate napoleons with milk and white chocolate drizzle. Seriously wanted to lick the plate.
Amy served us professionally and was very sweet — cleaned up the kitchen and gave my husband an experience we won’t soon forget.
I would not hesitate to recommend for anyone looking for good food from professional, easy to work with people.

I attended the Pasta cooking class last week and it was one of the best cooking classes that I’ve ever been to. I lucked out with a smaller class so it was much more hands on than usual.
We made 3 different kinds of pasta from scratch. Nathaniel patiently walked us through the process and showed us how to tell when the dough has reached the right texture. He also showed us how to make ricotta cheese from scratch and it was definitely one of the best ricottas I have ever tasted. My favorite sauce that we made was a simple brown butter and crispy sage.
I thought one of the best parts of the class was just how knowledgeable Nathaniel was. While we went through each step, he would tell us what the look for and the science behind the steps so that we understood why each step was important. He would also tell us about other ways that we can spice up the recipe if we wanted to such as adding herbs and at what point you would do this.
Overall it was a wonderful experience, can’t wait to try these recipes and techniques at home.

I attended Nathaniel’s «Art of Sushi Making» class in early January and had an amazing time. Let me tell you, there was so much food that we were stuffed by the end of the class. Below are the things we cooked:
1. Miso soup
2. Tempura shrimp + veggies
3. Sushi
What I loved most about the class is that everyone was incredibly sweet and professional. Nathaniel is very witty and his jokes kept the class laughing. It was great that the recipes weren’t already printed in front of our faces so it allowed for us to really experiment with adding more or less flavor to suit our taste buds. He, Amy and his staff really made the intricate art of sushi making easy to follow and I can’t wait to have a Japanese infused dinner for my girlfriends!
While making the miso soup was fairly easy, so was the tempura! Lastly, Nathaniel had a large selection of ingredients for us to choose from for making the sushi. There was tuna sashimi, salmon roe sashimi, spicy tuna and crab and different types of veggies to put in our sushi. It was awesome because Amy, another Prince and Pantry executive sous chef, was leading the sushi making portion of the class and she’s had much experience being a chef at an upscale Japanese restaurant, Katsuya, which made our sushi making class even more authentic! In addition, Nathaniel’s cooked for Anthony Bourdain before while on the TV show «The Taste» and Amy’s been on «Cutthroat Kitchen.» It was an amazing experience learning from future celebrity chefs ;)
Overall, great class and I would give the highest recommendation for people to go to his class. Going to cooking class was fun and is a great idea for birthdays, anniversaries or dates!

My GF and I had our 30^th Birthday Party event hosted by the talented Nathaniel and his awesome cooking crew. I was al ittle anxious as I wanted everything to run smoothly and the event to be super fun and informative. I am soooo happy that I chose The Prince & Pantry for such a special occasion.
Nathaniel suggested that for our special night we do a Bourbon infused cocktail menu. He had the menu prepared with the invoice via email so it was super simple to book reservations for the night.
Upon arriving, the staff was so friendly and helpful! The cooking class itself was very laid back, fun, informative, and delicious!
We were able to take a lot of the food and desserts home. They also email you recipes of the menu later to your guest.
Highly recommend The Prince & Pantry for a special occasion or just to take a fun cooking class.

I recently attended a cooking class hosted by Nathaniel and his team. I was truly impressed with Nathaniel’s energy and passion for cooking. My friend Suzy coordinated the class, Suzy had attended a class with her friend Kyla — as you can see, the word just keeps spreading.
I enjoyed the fact that there wasn’t a recipe sitting in front of us; it forced us to engage both our minds and senses when cooking. I may have walked in with the fear of overcooking fish but I walked out with a sense of confidence and enthusiasm — I can’t wait to try cooking fish on my own!
The class was also an excellent value; we ate throughout the class and we even left with enough food for a few meals.
Nathaniel + Amy: thank you for providing us with an exceptional experience! I will highly recommend The Prince & the Pantry to family and friends.

I went to an event at my friend Sarah’s home (reference the Sarah S. review below) and was blown away by what he and his staff put together. So when my fiancé and I were looking to host some friends for dinner – Nathaniel came up with the idea of doing a cooking class for us.
The Prince & Pantry hosted us for their first-​ever public cooking class at the Hood Kitchen in Costa Mesa. Nathaniel put together a wonderful menu of quick fresh healthy snacks, two entrees, and dessert (yes I said healthy dessert, I work as a personal trainer and nutrition counselor – I would know). We all walked away with new skills in the kitchen, new knowledge of proper food treatment, and brand new ideas for «traditional» dishes… we also left with full bellies :) I highly recommend you trying out Nathaniel’s services for your own fun night with friends, dinner party, catered event, etc.

Nathaniel was amazing. We had a small dinner party for some friends and he made the evening truly special. The service, the food and the conversation were stellar. I cannot sing my praises for Nathaniel and The Prince & Pantry enough. We have recommended him to all of our friends and hope that he can host for us again in the near future.
