If you’ve been arrested… I can help. I’m a retired police officer and I’ve been a criminal defense attorney for over 20 years. Because of my police background I have a unique understanding of the criminal justice system. My police training coupled with my legal expertise has allowed me to be a very successful advocate for my clients.

Defending yourself in the court system can be a difficult challenge. When a person is arrested and charged with a crime, California Law requires that the accused attend all court appearances. Your failure to do so will result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. If your case is a misdemeanor, I can appear for you at all the court appearances. It is quite possible that I will be able to resolve your case to your satisfaction without you ever having to set foot in the courtroom.

A retired police officer from Los Angeles county, Randall Bertz served in the United States Army Security Agency, is a graduate of the U.S. Army Intelligence School and a Vietnam combat veteran. He attended East Los Angeles College, California State University at Fullerton, Western State University College of Law, and was admitted to the California Bar in 1988. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association; California Attorneys for Criminal Justice; West Orange County Bar Association; Newport-​Harbor Bar Association; Deuce Defenders; and an Honorary Member of the Huntington Beach Police Officers Association.

Mr. Bertz is a veteran trial lawyer and a nationally recognized expert in the field of criminal defense. He has lectured to fellow attorneys throughout California, the United States and Europe and is a published author in the area of Criminal Defense.
