This is the best shop in orange county. Dave who helped me chose a great introductory kite at a great and fair price. and answered my questions honestly. Five minutes later i used the kite at the beach and it flew like a dream. Effortless. If your looking for cutthroat prices then seek a walmart but if your looking for quality kites at a great value that will not dissapoint you then the kite connection is the place to be. I will definately keep coming back.

Kristen helped us pick out a kite last week. We’re novices, and she didn’t steer us toward an expensive model. We’re happy with our purchase!

Amazing Customer Service for Pro & Beginner Kite questions and service. The owner Dave is a Legend in the Kite industry and a great business owner. It was a pleasure to meet him and has continued to be a pleasure to do business with him. Thank you for everything I totally recommend to anybody wanting to get into kites or Pro’s already into kites. A true gem of a business for the kiting industry.

I bought a prism 90 a few months ago. I crashed it hard and broke a little plastic cross bar. I came into the store looking to buy a new one and the woman working just handed me three sizes for free and said to bring back whatever I don’t use. What a nice place with good values.

What can you say bad about a kite store? Kites bring out the child in me, and this store had some really cute ones. Some people complain about the materials looking cheap, but I only remember having plastic kites that we would get at Thrifty’s…now Rite-​Aids.
They also carry a variety of flags, and most popular seller was the Surf City one. I’m not a kayaking person, but there was a cute one that I considered buying.

This is an amazing store with excellent customer service. Its located right on Huntington Beach Pier. I was there with my family over the weekend and we saw a demo for the «unbelievabubble wand» that makes giant bubbles. The bubbles were everywhere and it looked amazing. We purchased the wand and extra bubble mix and the cashier showed us how to use it properly and took off all the packaging so that we could use it right away. We had so much fun with it, blowing bubbles all over the pier. After coming back home (Ventura county), I realized that this would be an excellent idea for my niece’s birthday party. I called the store the next day and Christan was a great help. She was happy to ship four more wands and extra bubble mix directly to my house and took care of the shipping. I got an email confirmation with the receipt and tracking number right away. The wands arrived at my house within two days and in perfect condition.
I truly appreciate the great service and I’m looking forward to visiting them again to see what else they have to offer.

I couldn’t say enough great things about Dave and The Kite Connection. He steered me in the right direction and got me all set up with my new Rev Custom kite. He gave me a great price and all the info I needed to get going right away.
He definitely wasn’t about just making the sale since I was in to buy two kites, parafoil and a Rev. Being new to kiting, he explain the piloting differences and suggested just stick with the Rev so that’s what I did. Can’t argue with a pro! Great attention and explanation on a busy Sunday.
Had a great first day with my Revolution kite. Awesome kite… I’m hooked Dave! Can’t wait to get a lesson from him and tap his wealth of knowledge, there’s so much to learn! Great energy and honesty. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Okay I got my new bad boy!!! The prism tensor 5m. I bought it after it was dark. So I’ll take it to fly tomorrow. Dave took a lot of time to help me make the right choice. I’m sure revolution kite will be next in the summer. But I want to battle that new foil kite. Show it whose boss. (Probably not me)

This is a cute kite shop located on the pier. I got one of the $ 5 pinwheels on an outside stand. I thought it looked like one of those giant lollipops and made for a nice alternative to real candy (the traditional 6^th anniversary gift). The lady behind the counter at the shop was very friendly. They have lots of various souvenirs inside the shop: more kites, things personalized with popular names, postcards…

This place is awesome. I went in here with a kite problem, talked to kristen and she was able to help me. 20 mins later I was back on the beach flying my kite. Awesome atmosphere and people in this shop. This is by far the best kite shop in the area. We will always come back to this kite shop.

Sadly I do not actually live near this store because I’d like to meet these people. I’ve only dealt with them on the phone for orders through the mail. They are polite and professional as can be and you can tell customer satisfaction is their forte. Highly recomended.

I do a boatload of business around the u.s.a. I am constantly in touch and deal with people. I tell you this as a prologue to telling about a guy and his obvious love of his business. I am talking about dave sheik an and the kite connection on the pier in Huntington Beach. Always has gone above and beyond to take care of me and my grandsons. best compliment I can tell a retailer… customer for life…

Walked in and the lady asked if we were looking for anything in particular and we said no that we were just looking around and the lady behind the counter said «well good luck with that» and then I asked if they had any revolution kites and she said yes but they’re in the back and she couldn’t get to them! Then she said «sorry in a really $@&($) sarcastic way! Apparently they have so much business that they didn’t need our business! What a crappy way to run a business!

This SUPER CUTE little shop is right on Huntington Beach Pier! It has all kinds of cool toys and gadgets I don’t usually see anywhere else. The woman who was working had her hands full helping people and ringing stuff up, but she was SO cheerful and accommodating! I was impressed with how well she was juggling everything!
We bought a kite for $ 25 and took it to the beach, where it went up so fast that a woman nearby came up to us and asked how we did it! She said she’d been trying to get her kite up for a long time and never did… Ours just went up as soon as we opened it! We tied it up by the fire pit where it flew above us for hours, and we had a nice little landmark for friends to easily find our spot.
It was awesome :)

Came and bought a kite. They were very knowledgeable and helpful! They have a huuuge selection of recreational kites and fancy kites, they also have a bunch of those wind fan things. I would definitely come back for more kites. I will also come back for awesome yard decorations (whenever i own a home haha)

I was looking for a store that carried ShakaLaka SPF 15 lip balm and found it here! The owner (I think or manager) helped me sort through the lip balm to find the one that I wanted, and when I saw some new flavors and scents (cuz yes, they taste good too!), she made some into testers so I could see! That’s great customer service! I came in there wanting one and bought 5! (even when I get these usually from a friend who reps/​owns the company – yes, they are that good!) Also, I looked around the store and saw many unique little trinkets – if I had more time we would’ve stayed to shop! Great little unique gift place, and HB souvenirs, plus necessities and of course, kites :) Now go fly a kite!

This is a pretty small shop, but it has a nice selection of kites ranging from relatively inexpensive beginner kites up to advanced stunt kites. The Kite Connection is half novelty shop (go figure with its location on the pier) and half specialty shop and the kites here are a far cry from what you would expect to find at Target or Wal-​mart. The kites are priced accordingly and out of curiosity, I decided to compare my purchases today to what it would have cost me on Amazon and it was pretty much a wash when you consider shipping.
I went in to ask about a repair and get some information about different types of kites I was interested in purchasing. Dave (the owner) give me a simple diy solution for my repair. We then had a discussion about entry level stunt kites and he was able to point out a couple of kites that fit my needs very well. Dave gave me quite a bit of information and helped me make decisions on kites I just wouldn’t have been comfortable purchasing online.
The service was great and the prices are reasonable. I’ll be back.

When shopping here– there are somethings to consider–
One, As a kite flyer, I can assure you that you want a high quality kite and kite string. You are going up against mother nature, which can be very powerful. It is much better to pay more for a kite that will last, verses, buying several less expensive ones that will end up unusable.
Two– The business is a small non corporate business. With this, you may find some signs that some find humorous, others may find offensive, about store policies, ect. After speaking with the business owner though, I can assure you he has the best of heart and interest in mind for you. At the same time though, this means the store can sell whatever items they want and this means they selected them and will know the products they sell. I was impressed to read on the website that he would rather sell you a $ 100 kite that serves your needs then a $ 140 kite that does not meet your needs.
It is very hard to find a business owner who will communicate the guests, both positive and negative, and for this I can say I would recommend them If you have an issue, I have confidence this business will take the time to interact with you to attempt to come to a resolution.
