Sunset Gondola

I proposed to my fiancée on here. Everything I ordered was set up perfectly when we got there, and the message in the bottle went extremely smooth. Tim was awesome and sang us two songs! My fiancée had no idea what was about to happen, and everything went great. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a romantic experience or proposal idea!

I LOVE this gondola experience! I’ve been a few times and each time is spectacular! I love the gondoliers and their chattiness to absolute silence, depending on the occasion/​mood. They definitely know what they are doing, never rocking the boat, and helping to expertly navigate the hop on and hop off.
Take the apple cider, cheese, grapes, etc. to complete the experience.
Definitely recommended!

Highly recommend! My boyfriend surprised me with a gondola ride here and we both absolutely loved it. We showed up on time and were greeted immediately and told where the restrooms were before our ride. It took a few minutes to get the gondola ready but our gondolier Noah was a friendly and nice guy so we didn’t mind. He assisted us into the gondola and took us around the harbor; it was 6−7pm so perfect timing to watch the sun go down. We didn’t bring anything with us but I wouldn’t be surprised if you could bring a small picnic and blanket for when it gets cold at night.

I took my husband here yesterday and it was a nice getaway, however Gondola Sunset was the last resort of Gondola places I’ve checked out online. Reading reviews from other Gondola places got my really excited because I thought they would all b the same, but they weren’t. Sunset Gondola was a bit more pricey than some of the others.
Our Gondolier was Ben, he was cool, I got a bit irritated when we got under the bridge because many reviews said «when we go under the bridge the Gondolier tells us the tradition in Italy that the couple kiss and under the bridge and the gondolier starts singing» WELL THAT DIDNT HAPPEN and of course I wasn’t going to take it upon myself because I thought he would have told us! But he did sing on our way back to the dock, nice song!
BUT since I was already irritated he made me mad because I paid an extra $ 25 for the «Message in the bottle» service and he wanted my husband to grab the bottle out of the water but of course we were hesitant because the boat actually started leaning lol so he couldn’t no longer see it, so the gondolier caught it but ONLY RETRIEVED «THE LETTER» and left the bottle in the water (I PAID FOR THAT, IT DEFEATED THE WHOLE PURPOSE)
*Side note* it was just a REGULAR PAPER I thought the paper would have been like the old style paper!
I thought ok maybe I can ask him to give us an extra bottle since he left ours, he went to do a «QUICK» check and says «aww we’re out, nope we don’t have any bottles» SERIOUSLY!!! Then why didn’t you GO BACK AROUND THE BOTTLE I PAID FOR TO PICK IT UP!!!
Maybe if I would have gave him his tip sooner he probably would have «FOUND» a bottle, I suppose he thought we weren’t going to tip him but I was ready to give him the money until there weren’t any extra bottles because I feel that I was cheated for my service!
Also the houses were nice, I wouldn’t recommend that you go at 7:30 the view is average, I expected more, thought when it got dark, the area would be nice and lit but I guess we were too early.
I would recommend for you to go else where not here, just my experience

The cruise around the harbor was was absolutely relaxing. We saw other couples coming and going and they all had smiles on their face too. The driver was great. He offered to sing to us we told him we were good just enjoying the peacefulness of the harbor. I would definitely recommend this to any one who just wants to get away.

Place was just amazing! There’s a few people complaining because they didn’t take off right on time or because the gondola was 5 mins late big deal the man is steering a boat on water with his bare hands he’s limited on speed. So for future people scratch all and don’t worry about it I rate this place a 5 star for having great prices and using authentic gandolas hand crafted and shipped over from Italy. Gentleman grabbed my wines, gave me 2 glasses and also helped us on boat and made sure we where safe and seated before taking off. During the ride he would talk to us about the history of Italy and even sang us a song. Would recommend this to anyone ! Special thanks to the young guy with the blonde hair that was steering the gondola for us. Don’t remember your name but great job !

Went a couple weeks after the Valentine’s Day weekend this year and selected the 1 hour ride. It was great conversation with the one I love and customer service from the gondolier was second to none.

I made a reservation for me and my boyfriend at 8:30pm and when we got there at 8:20, there was no one at the front desk so I waited about 10 minutes and there was still nobody. So I called their # and nobody answers. I get a text from their number telling me to text them because they’re driving. So I text the number and I get a reply telling me our gondolier will be there soon.
By the time my gondolier arrived, it was 8:35pm. He didn’t even apologize for being late but just asked if I brought any drinks and snacks and if I wanted him to take it so he could keep it cool for me and put it in a basket so I could take it to the gondola. Prior to the the ride, our gondolier asked us if we wanted to have our picture taken so I gave him my phone to take a picture of us. I thought that was very nice of him.
By the time we finally started the ride, it was already a little past 8:40. It was very awkward the entire time because our gondolier didn’t say anything to us (except asked how we were doing once and here’s the only tunnel!). Other than that, it was complete silence the entire ride. My boyfriend found it really awkward that it was so quiet, so he suggested I play some love songs so it’d be more romantic and not as awkward. I was really bummed because I didn’t expect to have to play songs from Spotify to make the experience more enjoyable and not as awkward. I was expecting our gondolier to at least sing a song for us but to my disappointment, he never did.
I was bummed he only took us under one bridge too. I was expecting him to take us to to at least 2 or 3 more (because it’s a tradition in Italy to kiss every time you and your significant other are under a bridge).
The scenery was very nice and a little chilly because it was so late at night. There were a lot of stars and a full moon above us. Around us were a lot of beautiful houses and boats. By the end of the ride, it was only 9:20pm. That made me even more disappointed because not only did our ride start late but it ended 10 minutes early as well. Overall, it was as good first time experience but if I ever decide to go on a gondola again, I’d choose somewhere else.
P.S.
Perhaps it was because I had a groupon (that I paid $ 65 for), maybe that’s why my experience wasn’t the best. So just a heads up, if you happen to have a groupon too, do yourself a favor and just return it instead of coming here.

i loved this experience. It was new and it felt like i am in Italy. The only reason i am not giving this place a 5 out of 5 stars is because of the delay in our gondola ride. It started really late. However; our tour guide was amazing, and the peaceful ride was so much fun. We got to see so many beautiful houses, and the full moon was just the cherry on top of the whole experience. Can’t wait to go back again with our friends. Thank you !

Bret was awesome we had such an amazing cruise. He didn’t talk to little, didn’t take too much answered our crazy questions and sang to us. Our ride couldn’t have been any better! Took some wine with us and our «driver» made sure to ice it and was served in nice glasses. I would definitely recommend this place! Thanks bret! Definitely an unforgettable ride!

Wife & I had a great first time cruise. Brentino was a great gondolier with a great singing voice. Bring two bottles! Our first bottle of champagne was gone before we knew it. The sky was clear but it was a bit cool and breezy. We were provided a nice thick, cozy blanket to snuggle under. Glad we took the trip, it was relaxing and romantic and pleasantly unique.

Brought my girlfriend here for a romantic date and it was just amazing! The customer service was great and the ride was so beautiful. It is super relaxing and we had the opportunity of seeing the sunset which made it all even better. I had a groupon discount so it was totally worth it! I would recommend this to anyone :) One of my friends already tried it out and she thought it was great too! The only thing is I wish they would’ve put the bottle I brought in ice but other than that everything was perfect.

Took my wife out on Valentines Day and she loved it! Tim, our gondolier was just tremendous. Very knowledgeable and a gondolier artist in his own right! He has even been trained by and pilots gondolas from Venice’s best… a great experience to be had and great pedigree to be a gondola business owner. A job well done sir!!! I cant thing of getting anymore spot on without paying airfare to Venice itself.
Also in reference to the rabid lady who posted the angry review below, just as inflatable rafts and other minor craft to not need navigation lights, neither do these small unpowered vessels. It is responsibility of other vessels to be on the look out for such things. Also, gondolas don’t navigate down the center of the channels; if they are a hazard to you, ma’am, then you are the one that is in the wrong area and are the safety issue that should be addressed. And, these Gondoliers do sing… a quite well if I may add.
It seems as though there are some reviews on here being posted by rich yacht/​mansion owners in the harbor who don’t like others enjoying THEIR channels, water fronts or world for that matter. Good luck with that… I guess it turns out money doesn’t buy you happiness after all.

I saw this deal on groupon a couple times over the past couple years and with my anniversary coming up i decided to get it to surprise my fiancé. the deal was for an hour ride for about 60 bucks. lets just say this is the best thing i could have done.
the ride was extremely romantic. we rode through the harbor looking at the boats, houses and enjoying the sunset with a couple glasses of wine which we brought from home. it was beautiful. towards the end of the ride we went to the middle of the harbor and watched the sun finally set. totally amazing. we loved it. the only thing i would ask to change is to have a better sign or some sort of signal to us where the place is. i totally drove by it like, 3 times. :) but other than that… perfection

I decided to bring my girlfriend on a gondola ride for Valentine’s Day because what’s more romantic than a quiet, carefree ride on a gondola? I’m pretty sure gondola and romance are synonymous!
The first thing that I liked about this place was the sincerity of the people working there. As soon as we got there to check in, they asked us if we had any drinks that needed to be put on ice. We brought apple cider because we didn’t want to get too wild. Don’t worry about bringing your own glasses, they proved them for you which is really convenient!
I can’t remember our gondolier’s name, but he was this surfer-​looking guy with flowing blonde hair. I like how he gave us our privacy throughout the ride. He surprised us when we went under the bridge and started serenading us in Italian. We did not expect that to come from him! We even got a bonus when another boater told us a seal was on the docks nearby. Our gondolier happily took us over so that we could see it.
The gondolas here are top notch. They are imported from Italy and on this Valentine’s Day, they were specially decorated with flowers to add to the romance. I highly recommend this place to anybody who wants to give their special someone a romantic gesture!

I’ve used this company several times and it’s always been a WONDERFUL experience! The staff is really nice and it is easy to make reservations! They are the cheapest gondola company in from LA to the OC. At least they were back in the day because I checked with all of them.
It is really easy to find and parking is super easy and free! Yes I said it… FREE PARKING near the beach! That in itself is REMARKABLE! They have different lengths of time you can go out so the price changes accordingly! Your allowed to bring food and drinks as long as you take your trash with you when you leave! They supply blanket and will take your picture with your camera for free so you can remember your evening!
Just like all gondolas they take you through the different water ways and under bridges where you kiss your loved one or if piss you off you can push them over board! Just kidding! If you don’t swim it doesn’t matter because you’re not going to be in the water you’re in a boat so there is NO NEED to be scared!
I think it takes about a hour or to an hour and a half and your back safe on the dock. It is so peaceful out on the water at night. GO around Christmas time and you can see the Christmas lights on the houses.

I heard someone had an irk b/​c the gondolier was not talking enough. Not sure why you would want someone yapping at you the whole time you are on a boat ride, when it is supposed to be romantic and the one you are supposed to be talking to you is your partner. but eh​.to each their own.
I made reservations about a week and a half before I arrived for my ride. Unfortunately I could not get the sunset trip so I booked for 5pm. I had to move the trip one day later and they were able to accommodate with no problem. Our gondolier was Travis and had only been working there about 5 months. He chatted with my B/​F for awhile but I steered my BF back to chatting with me :) Travis was a very chill, young guy and someone you could chat with about regular stuff. he pointed out things here and there, answered questions. sang a song. but mostly did his job right, which was steer the gondola and not cause us to drown… so no complaints
We took the hour long ride which felt like it went by fast. maybe it as the booze that distorted things. Save yourself some cash and bring your picnic to the water. I packed cheese, fruit wine… and they have no issues with you bringing your own stuff. Blankets are available if you need them but the day was really nice after all the stormy weather and we didn’t need it.
It’s $ 80.00 for a one hour ride… Yes the price is high, but its a one time thing so why not just go for it? I would recommend it. Just don’t aim your bar so high, leave your anal attitude at the door and just have fun and chill.
