It’s Two Star Tuesday! Tuesday nights is Street Fair in DT Huntington Beach: A few blocks on Main Street are blocked so food and other vendors can sell there wares. It is a family atmosphere for the most part when it is light out, although there are plenty of bikinis walking around. After dark, well you know the song: The freaks come out at night… I have tried the other food vendors, with limited success. I generally go to my fave place Papa Joes. But I saw this cart by PCH and I said I’ll give it a whirl. I ordered the second most expensive thing on the menu: The Lobster Grilled Cheese — Lobster, sharp cheddar, avocado, and mayo on gourmet bread — $ 11. The most expensive thing on the menu is the lobster quesadilla at $ 16. They also offer a variety of sliders for $ 5. The sandwich was OK. There wasn’t much lobster for the price and the bread was nothing special. The service was below par. It took over 10 min to serve my sandwich and I was the only person in line. The other vendors on a Tue night would have served 5 customers in the same amount of time: Both 2 Stars. I won’t be coming back here anytime soon. The food is overpriced and the service is slooooow!

The food is great. I’m a huge fan of the grilled cheese lobster sandwich. I’ll just never come back here again. I’ve encountered the Street Kitchen vendor on two occasions. The first time around dinner time on PCH and Main, the second, in front of Galegher’s at like 1 in the morning this past Saturday, The first time was great! Both the cook and cashier were friendly and chatty. The grilled cheese lobster sandwich is sooo good. I promised to tell my friends and come back. This past weekend was terrible. The cashier was wearing sunglasses at 1AM and seemed to be under the influence of something. I understand you’re working at a grill on wheels, but if you’re going to be handling my credit card, you need to at least try to look sober. The poor cook looked overwhelmed. I ordered one grilled cheese lobster sandwich, you know me, I keep it consistent. 20 minutes pass by and I notice them giving food to someone who ordered after me. I ask if my sandwich is ready and the cashier asks me «Are you sure I helped you?» WHYBECAUSEYOUHAVESOMANYOTHERCO-WORKERSMANNINGTHEREGISTER?! The cook hurriedly hands me sandwich and a quick sorry. The sandwich was pretty good, I had a few Red Bull vodkas prior, so who knows how my palette was at the time. I fed half to a drunken birthday boy who exclaimed ‘ohmygerdsogood.‘ Your food is good, but there are so many other places to eat that offer smaller portions of bullshit.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The menu has a lot of delicious items to offer. Why wait for a table in a crowded restaurant when you can take your food to go and enjoy it on the beach.
