Albert from South Coast Turf is one of the most professional tradesman you’ll meet. We only had a 10’x3’ area and we were treated like his most important customer. The 3 man crew he sent were incredibly skilled and extremely courteous. It’s usually all about the people that are sent to do the job. In this case, we got the best! Plus, South Coast Turf really does have equal or better pricing. We got 4 bids. Selected South Coast because Albert is so professional and we knew we’d be taken care of, no matter what. And, we were! We had a small area we wanted replaced with turf, about 150 sq. ft. Checked with two other well reviewed companies and they had a minimum area of 200 sq. ft. and were more expensive. Albert from South Coast Turf was easy to work with, he came out showed me the samples and got started the next day. A crew of 5 guys meticulously prepped, installed and finished the project in 48 hours. Great service, great price, excellent product.
They were pretty busy as they are very competitive so there were minor scheduling issues but besides that I recommend South Coast Turf!

I initially called a few companies for estimates, and out of everyone, Albert was the most knowledgable. He throughly explained the installation process and gave me lots of grass options which other companies did not. I’m so glad we went with South Coast for our backyard synthetic grass. Albert is very efficient in responding to calls and messages, and kept in constant contact with me until the job was completed. His guys showed up on time on the day of, and they were very thorough and clean. My backyard looked spotless when they left and they did an incredible job. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for synthetic grass.

We decided to use South Coast Turf based on Unilocal reviews, without getting estimates from competing companies. I felt this was a little risky, and not my typical procedure (which is to get 3 estimates), but the reviews I read seemed mostly genuine, and the pictures were compelling. It was also appealing that the company did projects large and small, as our front lawn is rather modest in size. The owner Albert came out the day after being called to view the lawn and make an estimate. He talked to my mother and said that, if we wanted to proceed, he would email a work order for us to sign. We gave the go-​ahead and waited for the work order. Unfortunately, a few days elapsed and nothing appeared in the email. My mother called Albert and was reassured that the work order «was in the (e)-mail,» but another day or so passed with no work order. By then my mother was getting annoyed but had to go out of town and left the situation to me. I contacted Albert, gave him my email address, and promptly received the work order (I suspect my mother gave him an incorrect email address); he said his crew finished one job early and would be available to start the next day. Great! I signed the work order and emailed it back to him.
Albert said the job would take 2 days. It took 2 days, despite an accident the second day which required them to do extra work to repair an underground pipe they had accidentally hit (Albert called in a buddy who is a sprinkler expert for consultation and they fixed the problem, at no extra charge, even though it kept them working an extra hour). The original estimate had 2 costs, based on the quality of the grass chosen; we opted for the higher quality grass, given that there was only a couple of hundred dollars difference. We’re glad we did, as the finished product looks wonderful. I’ve posted a few pictures, though I could only find one «before» picture. They show how nicely everything turned out. We’re both extremely pleased with the result. Despite the initial hiccup with the work order email (I do think my mother is mainly at fault here for giving an incorrect email address), Albert was a pleasure to deal with. He was pleasant, polite, knowledgeable, and took plenty of time to answer questions about maintenance and upkeep (minimal but necessary for longevity). His retired father was on-​site the afternoon of the second day; he kept an eye on the workers and kept insisting that they do more and more to make the final result look as good as it could. He seemed quite meticulous and conscientious, and seems to have passed those traits down to his son, Albert, who owns the business.
In sum, we took a risk using South Coast Turf based solely on Unilocal reviews, with no competing estimates, but it paid off. The lawn itself will pay itself off in only a few years, since we no longer need a gardener and expect a significant reduction in our monthly water bill. The grass looks outstanding, Albert’s customer service was exemplary, and our satisfaction is extremely high. I’ve recommended his company to my boss and my brothers, and will sing his praises to anyone who asks. Thanks, Albert!

Absolutely phenomenal service and artificial turf installation of our 300+ sq. ft. front yard. Albert and his crew were very conscientious about doing the job right. They completely transformed our front yard. They tore up and hauled away our existing ground cover and dug out our rose bushes, and went deep into getting the roots all out. They integrated and planted three Pygmy Palm trees into our yard and installed a drip system for all three. I absolutely cannot say enough about their quality of materials and workmanship. Absolute professionals at what they do. Warning… Don’t have a handyman or jack-​of-​all-​trades do a job like this, as it’s way over their heads. Go with South Coast Turf. Gary Thompson, Irvine

Called these guys on two separate occasions looking for a small piece of artificial grass for my patio. The guy that answered the first time said the owner had scraps at his house and that I might be able to pick it up from there, he took my name and number and told me he would have someone call me back but nobody did. The second time the guy that answered told me they don’t usually have scraps in the size I requested but he would check and get back to me, needless to say he never called back again. If you can’t get me what I’m looking for simply say it rather then telling me you will get back to me and never doing so. Anyone interested in artificial grass do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Great work done on my dog run… There is no job too big or too small for them… which is GREAT. A lot of other places I called said the turf I needed installed was too small of a sq footage to really justify them coming out. But Albert came out for a free quote and was true to his word re: the estimate and how long it would take… awesome accuracy! And certainly the most reasonably priced. I called 3 other places.
My mother in law oversaw the work and she was throughly impressed at how clean they got everything and how much work and effort they made into ensuring it was done professionally. So glad to have some green back into the dog run… looks great!
Albert was super accommodating and professional… he puts the customer first and answered all my neurotic questions. We will definitely be using this company again for the rest of our backyard in the near future. These guys work above and beyond… very impressed! Highly recommended!

I sent South Coast Turf a message through Unilocal and got a reply in about an hour with a phone number to call/​text Albert. After a few messages back and forth about what I wanted (I wanted to have turf on a ridiculously small area mostly for aesthetics) and giving him rough estimates of the measurements, he gave me an estimated range of cost.
Albert came over to take a look at the area and to get an exact measurement the next day. He told me he was going to bring samples… I found it odd that he only brought ONE square of turf sample, It was good turf, but it’s just weird that he didn’t show me other options… but then again, I didn’t ask because what he showed me was basically what I was looking for anyway, nothing too fancy, nothing cheap.
From what I know, his prices are about the same as a few turf people I’ve spoken to. Him as a few of his staff came over the week after and installed the grass. It took roughly double the time he estimated because of the harder access to get tools to the area. I initially looked into doing it myself… glad I didn’t because it was a lot of work with specialized tools I didn’t have. Watching them does help with future DIY replacements, because laying down the foundation is the hardest part. I think I would now be able to just buy a roll of new turn and install that part myself.
It’s been about 6 months since it was installed and it still looks good. I LOVE the fact that there are no more bugs here and there munching on the dead grass and dirt I had before. I think the sun reflections from windows has aged it a bit, but it kind of looks a bit more real now. I hope future technology will make these more heat resistant so I can replace it.

After calling around to various companies we came across South Coast. Not only were the prices better but I couldn’t imagine receiving better service and product. Over the course of 2 and a half days, Albert and his team took our landscape from rags to riches and did it in a timely manner. From the free quote to the warranty backing up the quality of their work this company is one I’ll be recommending for years… in fact I’ve already recommended a co-​worker who was equally satisfied.

Wow, we absolutely love our new lawn from South Coast Turf. Albert, the Owner, was very easy to work with and was meticulous with the installation. We had three bids and we are so happy that we chose South Coast Turf to do our front yard. Albert is very honest and everyone worked really hard. We have received many compliments from neighbors and passers-​by on the artificial turf that South Coast Turf recently installed in our front yard. We started by getting bids from 5 different companies, then did «dive bys» to see installations for three of those companies. South Coast’s installation quality was the best, the product we choose from them was the best of all we reviewed, and their prices were quite fair. Albert was very thorough, making sure we understood everything. He and his employees worked very hard on the installation, doing an excellent job. I literally cannot see any seams.

I shopped around with a few other companies and ended up going with south coast turf. All I can say is you get what you pay for! My dogs love it!

Update… today is March 29, 2016 my fake grass is still in great shape even when we had rain 3 days in a row last month I didn’t get any flood or smell or anything wrong at all, they did a good job !
I am glad I caller them ! At first I contacted Lowe’s paid 40.- so they come to my house and give me an estimate, too expensive and company didn’t care much about my not too big job !
So I contacted South Coast… they stopped by in a few day. Give me reasonable price so I decided to do it… backyard makeover. They are very punctual at 9 am ish (even earlier) they show up at my house their crews are very polite, friendly. They move old grass, weeds, debris for me as they said they would… I put on 400 sqft turf, it’s not that easy job cus I have a lot going on in my yard but they got it done… no complaints, they were working hard to make my yard look beautiful.
This is your guy for TURF !!

The material of the grass was good

I’ll admit it: I’m a lazy single guy, and I didn’t want to have to maintain my small condo backyard at all. When I got the place 6 months ago, it had a nice grass area, but I hated watering and mowing it (Read: It died). So I decided to go artificial turf, and went with South Coast Turf for install.
South Coast Turf did a fantastic job on my small backyard turf install.
Albert first came out to give me an estimate. He was late, but he called me on the phone ahead of time to tell me that — so it was no big bother. He brought a handful of samples and options, and game me some fantastic advice on how to lay out my backyard area. He was very no-​pressure, and offered me a comparable quote to the other companies I had looked at. Because of my small area, he offered me a flat-​rate quote which was about $ 200 lower than the competition.
He came out the next week to do the work, and did a fantastic job. It took the team most of the day, but the work came out looking great. Very level, but taking into account drainage for my small yard. He offered me a 5 year installation warranty (up from the normal 3 years), and a 12-​year fade warranty on my now fake grass. I went for the Sahara Pro 1.5″ blade — and it looks great, very natural.
Big props to Albert and the father-​son team at South Coast Turf. Now my backyard looks great, can’t wait to show it off to my friends.

We definitely had a different experience as compared to the previous posting. We have used the South Coast Turf crew a couple times and they have always treated us with respect, gave us a full product demonstration, and did great quality work. The crew worked very efficiently and we couldn’t be happier with both the quality of the turf and the customer service. I have recommended them to friends and will continue to do so.

I was interested in having synthetic turf installed on our lawn. I did a search and filled out some contact forms online. Albert contacted me and we set up a time. I told him specifically that I would not be home but someone would and he would need to talk to them. My mom was home and when he arrived, he immediately started complaining about getting lost. He then refused to talk to her and would only speak to me or my husband. When he finally got around to doing the estimate, he calculated 100 sq ft more than all the quotes I got. Naturally, his poor attitude and shady ways made me think twice about using his company.
He called me at work today to follow up. I told him on no uncertain terms that I was NOT interested in using his company and would be taking my business elsewhere. He called again a minute later and started to YELL at me about wasting his time because it took him ½ hour to get to my house. How the hell is his getting lost MY fault? I thought the purpose of providing a free estimate was to try to gain business, not to scare people off?
I would definitely not do business with this shady, unprofessional, and rude person.
