I couldn’t ask for a better ring buying experience than what I had at Simone & Son. Shant and Josh were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and worked with me to design and craft the ring of my fiancé’s dreams. They were able to get the ring made within a pretty short schedule, and it came out looking even better than I had imagined. My fiancé and I did our homework. We visited dozens of jewelry stores before deciding on Simone and Son. During our visit at another jewelry store, I’ll call them «X Jewlers,» the sales associate showed me a ring that was waayyy out of our budget. We were very clear on the budget, BEFORE I started trying on rings. I tried the ring on and I started to cry… THAT’S how much I loved it. I thought I had found my ring. Then I looked at the price and my jaw dropped. She actually went so far as to say out loud «if he love’s you, there is always room with the budget. You’re worth it!» It made us both so uncomfortable, and I felt horrible for my fiancé. I took some photos of the ring, and we left.
A few days later, (my fiancé still thinking of ways for me to get the ring of my dreams) said «Let’s go back to Simone and Son. I had a good feeling when we went there. Maybe they can duplicate it.» Although I knew that I couldn’t ask them to «duplicate» it, I agreed that I liked Simone and Son too, and maybe they could do something similar.
I called Shant the next day and set an appointment. I showed him the photos of the ring I had fallen in-​love with and reminded him of our budget. He did some drawings on the spot, and I was completely mesmerized by what he did in 20 minutes. He said he could change the size of the stone and make the halo slightly bigger, and no one would be able to tell the difference. He made a few other small changes that actually made the ring look even more beautiful. I didn’t even think that was possible. He designed it with 18kt gold instead of 14kt gold and he changed the shape of the two sapphires along the sides to make it look more feminine and vintage. He didn’t have the right stone for us on that day, but he said he had one coming in that would be perfect for me. I trusted him. He called me on the day the diamond arrived and asked if I wanted to come in and see it. I asked him if it was a nice stone, and he said it was beautiful so I told him to go ahead with it. I opted not to see anything else moving forward because I knew a lot about my ring already. I literally told him to do whatever he thought was best and I crossed my fingers.
A few weeks ago, my fiancé proposed to me with a gorgeous ring! It is even more beautiful than I could of imagined. Shant took the ring I fell in-​love with (and that we couldn’t afford) and made it better!!! He saved us thousands and kept us within budget (top of our budget… but within budget :)).
So…to the sales associate at «X Jewelers»., what you said was so rude and unprofessional. You almost ruined the entire experience for us-​single-​handedly. Respect the budget! Don’t make your customers feel embarrassed.

Don’t waste your time with anyone else.
There is ONE THING I will suggest, however. They are very busy. Although Shant is very good about getting back to people and being honest about how busy they are, give them plenty of time. If they quote 6 weeks, plan for 8 – 10. It’ll be worth the wait, but it eases the stress on you and them. They don’t cut corners so don’t wait until the last minute.

Shant, Angela, and Emily did a fantastic job working with my husband David and I on selecting our wedding bands. My husband did a lot of research in the local area to create a custom design for my engagement ring. He worked with Simone and Sons for a few months to make sure my ring was perfect, all without my knowledge of course! I could have asked for a more amazing engagement ring. I absolutely love it’s unique style and detail. I constantly get compliments and people are so impressed how low the diamond is set, yet still looks amazing. You cannot get something like this from a mall store or online jeweler. If you are looking to purchase an engagement ring, this is the place to go. We cannot even begin to explain how happy we are with the service and quality at Simone & Son. I initially got a setting at another jeweler I was not very happy with the results. In talking with some friends I was referred to Simone & Sons and told to ask for Shant. I brought the setting in and explained what I wanted to do. He was able to build a 3D model on the computer in less than a half hour. Within a few days he was able to provide an actual model of the setting with a 3D printer. The end result was perfect! My wife and I have stopped in a few times over the past couple years for cleanings and other sparkly things and each time are greeted by one of their wonderful staff.

Have used Simone & Sons several times in the past for custom jewelry and have always been thrilled with the results. Jasmine and Shant used the diamonds from my late mothers wedding setting to create the most beautiful right hand ring several years ago.
When my fiancé met with my sister to discuss engagement rings she gave him the gold from my mom’s setting, some idea of what I wanted and sent him to Simon & Sons. Shant worked patiently with my fiancé to create the perfect setting and selected a beautiful aquamarine stone (I wanted something different and non-​diamond). The result was a one of a kind, completely unique, absolutely beautiful and so perfectly «me» bezel set ring. I am thrilled with how lovely it turned out and love that they used my heirloom gold to custom create this beautiful ring.
Of course when it came to my wedding band, I knew I was headed to Shant @ Simone & Sons. I used the heirloom gold from my great grandmothers wedding ring and Shant worked with me to design the perfect band. Simone & Son is like its jewelry… unique. The staff is friendly and helpful and the items they make are custom and gorgeous! Family owned and run, they really put everything into making the most exquisite pieces of jewelry.
I have been lucky enough to have received several items from here… a pink tourmaline pendant necklace, a yellow diamond necklace with matching stud earrings, and lastly my stunning «Pretty in Pink» diamond engagement ring. I can’t stop looking at my gorgeous ring! I had the center stone of my engagement set into a custom setting by Simone & Sons. I spent a lot of time researching and looking at various settings online. I finally came across a design that I really liked but was hesitant to order from an unfamiliar website. So, I started researching custom jewelers. I was very impressed with the reputation and reviews of Simone & Sons. Looking at their videos and pictures of past work, I could see the quality workmanship. There were other jewelers that were cheaper and some that were more expensive. However, I felt like this family run store was the best choice in terms of quality and price. I went in for a consult and met with Shant. He was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He has good eye for design and I felt comfortable that I made the right choice.
Even though I live out the of the area (in San Diego), the entire design process went very smoothly. Both Shant and his team were responsive and kept constant communication via email. My ring was inspired by online photos but I wanted to tweak a few things around. They were patient and always willing to make the changes for me. They bent over backwards to make sure I was happy. It did take a little longer than expected but I wasn’t in a hurry and did not want to rush the process.
In the end, the ring exceeded my expectations. I am not one to leave a 5 star review. However, Simone & Sons totally deserve it! It’s very clear that they take pride in their work and with good reason. The ring is beautiful and the craftsmanship is superb. As an added bonus, their cost came in lower than initially quoted. I didn’t know this and they are applying the savings to my next piece. Scrupulously honest! I highly recommend them for any of your jewelry needs.

I am recently engaged and decided to have my engagement ring re-​sized here. I walked in on a Saturday and was kindly greeted and welcomed by Corinne, one of the sales associates. She was super welcoming and was extremely helpful when it came to picking the right size for my ring (mine was in-​between sizes). She then took the time to sit down with me and let me ask about custom rings, since we were interested in customizing our wedding bands. She spent quite a bit of time with me to help come up with a custom design not only for my wedding band but for my fiancé’s! She was super receptive to my ideas and very knowledgeable as to what would work and what may not and giving alternative suggestions for the «nots». She made me feel very special and it was so much fun to have someone be just as excited about my ring as I was! On top of that, the store owner, Shant, made a point to say hi and answer any technical questions I had. Even better, my engagement ring came out the perfect size and our wedding bands came out even BETTER than what I was expecting and were exactly what I wanted.
Needless to say, the people here are great and take a lot of pride in their business and profession. If you’re looking for a family jeweler that can provide you with amazing care and can trust with your most precious jewels, this is where you need to come. After the amazing care I received with my wedding rings, I came back to have a few of my family heirlooms repaired and cleaned. They really do an outstanding job and thew jewelry hear is simply amazing & worth the investment.

Simone & Son really is as good as it gets.
Simone & Son made my engagement ring from scratch. I saw a setting that I loved and they made it to fit the dimensions of my stone.
We made an appointment on a really, really busy Saturday with Shant (one of the owners of the establishment). We must have been there for 3 hours and Shant was extremely patient, helpful, and great to work with – it was like we were the only people in the store, which we really appreciated. Shant gave us a price quote, and it was a really good deal. 6 weeks later, to the day, my ring was made, and we went in to set the diamond.
Again, we went back on a really, really busy Saturday, this time without an appointment, and they set my ring in an hour. Angela helped with setting the diamond and she is awesome as well. As we were waiting for the stone to be set, we had a great conversation with Shant’s mother (also owner of the establishment), whose name escapes me at the moment, and she was an absolute gem (no pun intended). Really, she was funny, kind, helpful and seemed to be just an all-​around great person. All the people who work there are absolutely awesome.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for any kind of jewelry – they have it all, and they hand make 99% of their inventory (I asked). The craftsmanship of all of their jewelry is incredible as well. My ring is so well-​made, it is absolutely perfect.

I have to say, working with Simone and Son has been the best overall customer experience I have ever had. If I could give them more stars I would. Shant and his team are fantastic to work with and do incredible work from education, to design, to the final product.
I came to them extremely overwhelmed with trying to find the perfect ring for my girlfriend. The team took the time to educate me on what I should look for and what to expect when looking for the right stone and band. Next, I showed them some pictures of potential designs I had found on my girlfriend’s Pinterest page. From there, we were able to come up with design that looks INCREDIBLE. The design process is fascinating and Shant is incredibly talented at coming up with brilliant designs.
At this point I’m feeling great, but there is one huge obstacle. — I’m on a very short time constraint. I needed the ring in hand in two weeks as we were heading out of town which is when I knew I wanted to propose. Shant made every effort to make sure my ring was completed on time, and continually followed up with me to let me know how things were going.
In the end, they created the perfect ring and my fiancée could not be happier. She believes it’s the most beautiful ring she’s ever seen and I have to agree! Shant’s attention to detail in creating very high quality products, matched with their incredible service and follow up, I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Plus they’re all really great people and make you feel like a part of the Simone and Son family. A big thank you to everyone over there!

Shant and his mother are two of the most wonderful people I’ve worked with in any retail capacity. Probably THE best.
I had an engagement ring and wedding ring designed and produced, and Shant was incredibly patient with me in trying to work through what I wanted, even being willing to start over the design process without complaint. On the wedding ring, even when we were happy, the original mold of the design wasn’t good enough for him and he made it even more perfect.

I’ve used Simone and Son to create both my wife’s and my wedding rings in the past, and I recently had another opportunity to partner with them for another hugely important piece of jewelry.
We regularly go into Simone and Son to have our rings cleaned, or to store them when we travel. On one such visit, we saw that they now offer these beautiful silver pendants that reflect the actual outline of your baby’s feet. Shant explained that all he needed was a .pdf of my newborn’s feet that they footprint in ink when he’s born.
Since we just had our newborn, my wife dropped the hint that she wanted that gift for Mother’s Day (months away).
So being the diligent husband that I am, of course I didn’t forget. But I did put it off, and next thing you know, Mother’s Day was just 1.5 weeks away, and I didn’t stop by and order it yet.
Shant promised me that he would get it done 3 days after Mother’s Day. I was bummed but went ahead to place the order.
So, two days before Mother’s Day, I receive and email from Shant: the pendant will be done one day before Mother’s Day! I don’t know how he did it, but he was able to get this important and beautiful pendant finished on time.
The joy on my wife’s face when she opened up the expertly wrapped box (courtesy of Simone and Son’s) and saw the pendant was priceless.
Shant and his crew came through for me. I can’t stress enough how much I admire this business. You don’t see much turnover in personnel at all, which says a lot about the owner on valuing and retaining good employees. They listen to your needs. But most importantly, they are experts in their field, and are truly a trusted partner to my family for our jewelry needs.

I came to Shant in a bit of an emergency situation, as the jeweler I had been working with passed away suddenly just weeks before I was to propose. Unfortunately, all the design work I had done with him was now gone, and I had to start from scratch again. Shant and his mother, Jasmine, worked closely with me to help design a ring that I never could have dreamed of. They immediately understood the importance to me of the custom design idea I’d devised, and Jasmine’s deft hand added some additional accents that really took the ring over the top. They worked tirelessly to get the ring made in record time, so that I could still surprise my beautiful wife as planned. To top it all off, Shant gave me an incredible deal on a ring that ended up appraising for much more than it cost me.

After starting in DTLA and working my way through the South Bay, I found a couple of jewelers that were competing for my business, but I knew I still wanted to see what Orange County had to offer. Unilocal was the reason I found Simone & Son.
I had a pretty good idea of what to expect from previous reviews, but I was glad to walk into a modern, well-​lit (it’s amazing how poor lighting can be at most jewelers) and welcoming shop.
I was greeted by a lovely lady (sorry lovely lady, I didn’t catch your name!) who asked if she could help me so I told her I was looking for an engagement ring setting. From across the room a tall man stood up and walked over, looked me in the eyes, shook my hand and said: «Welcome to Simone & Son. I’m Shant.»
I told Shant that I was looking for a custom setting for a pear shaped diamond. The next thing I know, I’ve seen every halo in the display case, Shant hand-​sketched the ring and he went to work on his computer. From the monitor behind him, I could see he was creating a CAD model of the ring. It was amazing how efficient the entire process was. I couldn’t have been in there for more than 25 minutes and I was looking at a 3D model of the ring that was in my head.
I walked out of the shop 99% sure that I was going to ultimately decide to go with Simone & Son, but I knew I needed a little time to think and reconsider my options. Shant and I exchanged a handful of emails and, over the course of about a week, I had weeded out the other jewelers. To be completely honest, finding that other 1% wasn’t very hard. I called Shant, said: «Let’s do this,» and the engagement ring was underway
Fast forward to last Friday and I couldn’t believe the ring that Shant handed me… it was PERFECT. I couldn’t have been any more cryptic/​unsure when we were designing, but Shant deciphered it all. The finished product is on a completely different level than the CAD (which I thought was amazing). The craftsmanship and the marriage (pun intended?) of the center stone and the setting were unreal. Shant smiled when he saw my reaction. There was never a doubt in my mind that Shant didn’t believe 100% in his product.
*THE DEAL-​SEALERS*
1) FINISHED PIECES. When you’re talking custom, it’s really easy to show pictures or stock pieces and talk about how you can deliver a product that looks «just like it.» Shant didn’t hesitate to show me pieces that he had just finished. I’m talking about days old — it’s nice (and a must) to know what to expect when you get your custom piece.
2) Throughout the entire process, I visited the store 4 times. Each time I left, Shant walked me out as we were finishing up our conversation. When I stepped outside of the door, he did the same, looked me in the eyes and shook my hand. EVERY SINGLE TIME. That’s how you treat people.
At the end of the day Shant not only earned my business… he earned my trust. I’m a customer for life!

My jeweler closed after many years. They made me one last ring, but I needed to repair a ring and they couldn’t get it done.
I came over to Simone and Son to ask them about it. I was nervous because the ring is a family heirloom and I am hesitant to leave it in the hands of unknown people. You hear so many stories of gem switching.
Shant Introduced himself and told me about the business. He was genuine and understanding. Although I had a very small need, he treated my repair with respect. He knew it was important to me. I was very impressed with the way he interacted with me, and the other customers.
The repairs are done on camera, and you watch them on a large tv. That provides peace of mind, and it’s quite interesting to watch. They did my repair right then.
All of the sales clerks are certified designers, so this was impressive to learn. I visited with one of them, and she was very friendly. You also get to watch the design process on large TVs.
I am definitely a new customer. Shant is «son» in the title of the business, and president. He could have been doing a job that cost thousands of dollars, not a mere 50. 00, and his demeanor would have been the same. That is why I won’t have to look any further. I am so happy my old jeweler ran out of time and I needed this done.
